Our bathroom resealing service in IV12
Mr Mastic has more than 20 years’ experience of sealant work, and our applicators reseal bathrooms and kitchens across IV12. We are fully insured ARBOMaster approved applicators, and the work comes with a 12-month guarantee. We are often asked to deal with water getting behind the kitchen upstand and a reseal done over the top of the old bead, across wet rooms, kitchen worktops & upstands and shower trays & enclosures.
You do not need to clear the whole room or building before we come, just the space around the work. We protect the rest, and the job takes two to three hours for a typical bath, depending on how much old sealant there is in most cases.
- Protection goes down around the bath, shower or worktop.
- Old sealant is sliced away and the residue removed.
- We treat any mould and let the joint dry properly.
- Baths are filled first, then anti-fungal sanitary silicone is applied in a colour to suit.
- The joint is finished neatly and we explain when it can get wet.

Near you in Nairn
Typical jobs here are in homes near Nairn Academy and The High Church and Church Hall and the streets around them. Nairn has its own railway station: Nairn station. Well-known places in the area include Nairn Town and County Hospital (under half a mile south) and Highland Railway Museum (under half a mile south). Open spaces near Nairn include Hill of Urchany and Loch Loy.
Bathrooms and kitchens across IV12
IV12 has homes of every age, old and new, with plenty of rented property in places like Nairn, Auldearn and Kingsteps. Sound sealant and clean grout keep water out and rooms looking cared for.
Scotland has its own building regulations, and homes here bring their own details: harled walls, sash and case windows and, in the larger towns and cities, tenements. We work across Scotland, including IV12. Parts of IV12 are on or near the coast, where wind-driven rain and, closer to the shore, salt air are hard on outside sealant. Walls facing the sea are normally the first to need attention.
Nairn: For site and facilities teams at buildings such as Nairn Academy, we reseal washrooms and kitchens in schools and businesses as well as homes. In the older streets around The High Church and Church Hall, bathrooms in older houses have often been refitted more than once, with sealant laid over sealant.
Why act early?
A quick bead over the top of the old one might look better for a while, but it will not bond. It lifts, traps water and grows mould behind it.
Questions to ask before booking
- Who turns up on the day
- How the colour is chosen
- What product goes in the joint
- Whether they’re fully insured
For landlords and businesses
We also work for businesses, from offices to washrooms and kitchens. For commercial premises, we can talk through working times when we quote.
Mouldy or split sealant often shows up at the end of a tenancy, and it’s quick to put right between tenancies. We can quote for more than one property at once.
How we quote for bathroom resealing
Call for a quick quote. What matters most is:
- The number of rooms or windows
- The product the joint needs
- The number and length of the joints
- How easy the joints are to reach
What you pay reflects the work, not a rough estimate. That’s why we ask about the job first and give you a clear price before work begins.
Asking for a quote
To make quoting easier, please include:
- Access, such as stairs, a lift or height
- Whether it’s a home or a business
- A few pictures by email, if you can
- Where the property is
There’s no standard price list, because every job is different. Instead, we send you a clear quote for your job. To get started, email us at info@mrmastic.co.uk.
When it isn’t the sealant
A few problems are outside what sealant work can do:
- Tiles that have come away from the wall
- Failed grout lines across the wall
- A leaking waste, trap or valve
DIY sealant or a professional job?
Some sealant jobs are within reach of a careful DIYer, such as a straightforward joint indoors. Where it goes wrong is sealing over the old bead, working on a wet joint or overloading the gap.
If you’re set on DIY, put the effort into preparation: take out all the old sealant, make sure the joint is clean and dry, and give it the full cure time. If it does not work out, we can still put it right.
Your questions about bathroom resealing in IV12
How long does a bath or shower reseal take?
It depends on how many joints there are and how much old sealant has to come out. Allow a couple of hours for a typical bath or shower.
Is it worth trying it myself?
That depends on the joint. Work at height, movement joints, fire-rated gaps and large areas are best left to a professional.
Can you quote for more than one area?
Yes. Several rooms, windows or areas can go on one quote.
Do you cover IV12?
Yes. We work in IV12. For a quote, send an email to info@mrmastic.co.uk.
Can new silicone go straight over the old?
No. New silicone will not bond to old silicone, so it lifts and traps water and mould underneath. All the old sealant comes out first.
What do you need from me for a quote?
Only a few details: where it is, what you’ve noticed and how we reach it. After that, simply send an email to info@mrmastic.co.uk.
Do I have to be there?
Access is agreed with you when the job is booked. Indoors, that generally means someone at home.
