Bathroom resealing across GU14: what to expect
We fill the bath before sealing it. The weight settles the bath to its lowest point, so the new joint is not pulled apart the first time it’s used. Quick jobs often leave it out, and it makes a real difference. We work on baths, basins & vanity units and sinks & splashbacks, and common reasons people get in touch are a reseal done over the top of the old bead and smears of silicone across the tiles.
Our applicators work methodically: protect, prepare, seal, tidy. For most jobs that takes around two hours for one bath or shower, longer for a whole bathroom and we leave things clean and tidy.
- We look at every joint first and check for movement or leaks.
- Every trace of the old bead is removed, including the thin smear on the tiles.
- Joints are degreased and any mould is treated.
- When the joint is dry, and a bath has been filled with water, the new silicone goes on.
- The bead is tooled smooth and you are told the cure time, usually around 24 hours.

Bathrooms and kitchens across GU14
Our bathroom resealing work across GU14 covers homes, rentals and businesses, in Farnborough, Ash Vale and North Camp and well beyond. The method is the same everywhere: old material cut out, joints cleaned and dried, and a fresh finish laid.
The South East is one of the drier parts of the UK, but outdoor sealant still needs a dry day and clean surfaces, so outside work in GU14 is planned around the forecast.
Farnborough: If you live in an older home near Church of St Christopher, older homes can move a little, which is hard on rigid grout and tired sealant. Schools such as Tower Hill Primary School are buildings too, and washroom and kitchen sealant there needs the same care as at home, and schools and businesses are part of our work as well as homes.
What sealant work can’t fix
It helps to know what we cannot do:
- Movement from a bath with loose feet or no proper support
- Leaks from a shower valve, waste or pipework (a plumber’s job)
- Cracked or missing grout between tiles (that is regrouting)
Aftercare tips
After the cure time, these simple habits help:
- Keep an eye on the corners, where splits start
- Don’t let bottles sit on the bead
- Dry the bead with a towel now and then
- Wipe up water along the back of the worktop
Keep water off the new bead until it has cured, which is usually around 24 hours. Once it’s cured, wiping it down after use keeps it looking new.
A failed kitchen joint is easy to miss. Water gets behind the upstand and into the edge of a laminate worktop, where it can make the board swell. Resealing before that happens protects the worktop.
For landlords and businesses
If you manage several properties in or around GU14, several properties can be quoted together. Send us the addresses and the work at each, and photos by email help.
Businesses can book us for washrooms, kitchens, offices and more. For commercial premises, we can talk through working times when we quote.
What we’re called out for in GU14
With age, silicone loses its stretch. In kitchens it often shrinks away from the back edge, opening a hairline gap that lets water and crumbs in. Heat from the hob and strong sprays speed it along.
Any of these means the joints need attention:
- Water getting behind the bath panel
- Black spots spreading through the bead
- Splits where the tray meets the wall
- Shrunken sealant along the back of a worktop
How the job changes by surface
Baths
The long joint down the side of a bath is where most leaks start, especially under a shower. It gets one smooth bead of anti-fungal silicone, tooled so water can’t sit on it.
Sinks & splashbacks
Around the sink, we use a product suited to kitchens, and a food-safe product where it’s needed. The bead is finished smooth so it wipes clean.
