Our bathroom resealing service in BN7
A fresh bead of silicone changes how a bathroom looks more than most people expect. Mouldy silicone makes even a new bathroom look neglected, and a neat new joint puts that right in a short visit. Just as important, it closes the gaps water would otherwise get through. Common call-outs are for two layers of silicone, both failing and water getting behind the bath panel, on shower trays & enclosures, wet rooms and sinks & splashbacks.
You don’t need to clear the whole room or building before we come, only the area right around the joints. We protect the rest, and the job takes two to three hours for a typical bath, depending on how much old sealant there is for a typical job.
- We cover the area around the joints we’re working on.
- Old sealant is sliced away and the residue removed.
- Mould is treated, then the joint is left to dry thoroughly.
- Any bath is filled with water, then we lay a bead of anti-fungal silicone in white, clear or a matching colour.
- The joint is finished neatly and we explain when it can get wet.
What affects the price in BN7
Instead of a standard rate, we look at what your job involves: how many joints, what’s in them now and how we reach them. The price is agreed before we begin.

Local landmarks in Lewes
In Lewes, that means homes and buildings near Priory School, Railway Land and Elephant and Castle pub and the streets around them. You’ll also find Church of St John sub Castro (under half a mile east), St Pancras Catholic Primary School (under half a mile south-west) and Lewes Old Grammar School (within half a mile south). The nearest railway station is Lewes station, roughly 0.6 miles south-east. Well-known places in the area include Lewes Victoria Hospital (0.5 miles west) and Museum of Agricultural Bygones (3.9 miles east). Green spaces nearby include Offham Hill and Malling Down.
Bathrooms and kitchens across BN7
From Lewes, Telscombe and South Malling to its smaller places, homes across BN7 have bathrooms and kitchens of every age. Family bathrooms, rented flats and hotel en suites all need their sealant and grout renewing in time.
From Victorian terraces to post-war new towns and modern estates, homes across the South East and London cover every era. Each needs the right sealant for its age and materials, wherever it is in BN7.
Lewes: In the older streets around Church of St John sub Castro, older homes can move a little, which is hard on rigid grout and tired sealant. If you let a flat or house near Lewes station, fresh sealant around the bath, shower and sink between tenancies helps a property present well and keeps leaks at bay.
When it is not the sealant
Before booking, it’s worth knowing the limits:
- Water coming from the plumbing rather than the joint
- A tray that rocks until it’s re-bedded
- Tiles that have come away from the wall
Quotes for bathroom resealing in BN7
There’s no set price list, because jobs vary so much. What we look at:
- How many areas need sealing
- The number and length of the joints
- Whether old sealant or filler has to be cut out
- The type of sealant required
A few things move the cost up or down: the old material and how easily it comes out, whether mould needs treating, and whether we need extra access for height. We take all of that into account in your quote.
What we need to know
When you contact us, these details help:
- A few pictures by email, if you can
- What the problem is, such as mould, gaps, leaks or cracking
- Where the property is
- How we’d reach the joints
Every job is quoted individually. Simply ring 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and describe the job, and photos are welcome.
Surface by surface
Baths
Baths move more than any other fitting, so we fill it with water before sealing. The joint is then laid with the bath at its lowest point and is not stretched when it’s used.
Kitchen worktops & upstands
Laminate worktops swell if water gets into the core. A continuous bead along the back keeps water out, as long as the worktop itself is firmly fixed.
Why act early?
Tired sealant is not a reason to replace a bath or shower. A new bead often brings the whole room back, provided the bath, tray and tiles are in good order. If we find a deeper problem, you will hear it from us.
What your quote should include
- Whether they seal over old material or remove it
- What happens if the job turns out different
- What product goes in the joint
- What insurance they hold

FAQs for BN7
Is it OK to put new sealant on top of the old bead?
No. A bead laid over old silicone soon starts to come away, because silicone doesn’t bond to silicone. We remove the old bead completely before resealing.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Many landlords are glad to have it sorted.
What colours of sealant can you use?
White, clear and a range of colours are available. Where the joint is on show, we match it to the surface.
Are you insured?
Yes. We’re fully insured.
Will it make a mess?
Tidy work is part of the job. We protect what’s around the joints, and we clear up when we are done.
Where are you based?
We’re a Crawley-based firm, with over 20 years’ experience. Our area covers South East England, London and Scotland.
Do you come to BN7?
