Resealing a garage door frame keeps rain and draughts out.

Gutter sealing for homes and businesses in Harringay

A drip at a gutter joint is easy to ignore, but each shower sends water to the same place. Resealing it is a small job if the gutter is otherwise in good order. We work on gutter joints, roofline trims and uPVC fascias, and common reasons people get in touch are streaks down the brickwork from a leaking joint and rain getting in around a garage door.

Working on the outside of a London home means planning access: shared paths, upper floors and parking. For a home in Harringay, tell us how high the joints are and how to reach the back of the building.

Whatever the size of the job, it’s backed by our one-year guarantee.

Harringay buildings and the weather

Rainfall in the South East is lower than in much of the UK, though outdoor sealant still has to go onto a dry joint, so the forecast decides the day. In terraces and conversions, gutters and walls are often shared with the neighbours, so check who is responsible for the outside before booking.

If you live in an older home near St Paul's Harringay, old and new materials meet at the roofline and walls, which is where sealant earns its keep. Schools such as South Harringay Infant School are buildings too, and its movement joints, gutters and trims need looking after like any other building’s.

What we do, step by step

Good joint work is mostly preparation, so that’s where we spend the time. Joints are cleaned back and dried before anything new goes in. In total, it generally takes a few hours, depending on the number of joints and the access. In a London area like Harringay, the main things to plan are parking and access: tell us about permits, visitor bays or off-street space, which floor we’re working on and whether there’s a lift.

  1. First we agree which joints need sealing.
  2. We clean out each joint.
  3. We make sure everything is dry.
  4. The sealant is applied and finished.
  5. We check our work before we leave.

Advice

Honest limits

To be straight with you, some problems need a different trade:

  • Rotten or damaged fascia boards
  • Blocked downpipes
  • Gutters that have dropped or pulled away

If in doubt, call 0345 464 0079 or email us and we will say what we think before you book.

Surfaces we seal

  • Soffit joints
  • Gutter end caps
  • uPVC fascias
  • Gutter joints
  • Garage door frames
  • Roofline trims

Why act early in Harringay

You don’t need new fascias just because the joints have opened. Sealing the joints tidies them up if the boards are sound. In London conversions, one flat’s bathroom is often above another flat’s ceiling, so a small leak from tired sealant can mean a neighbour’s ceiling and a lot of disruption. Dealing with it early is far simpler.

What you pay reflects the work, not a rough estimate. That is why we ask a few questions first.

Why book with us

  • A choice of colours where the product allows
  • 180+ five-star Google reviews
  • A 12-month guarantee on all work
  • Neat joints and a tidy finish

See our cost guide and our reviews.

Should I try it myself first?

The biggest DIY mistake is sealing over old sealant. Silicone does not stick to old silicone, so it lifts and traps water and mould underneath. All the old material has to come out first.

If you’ve already had a go yourself, that is fine. We remove it and do the joint properly, so tell us about it when you ask for a quote.

Harringay questions

Can parking be tricky for a visit in Harringay?

London parking needs a little planning, so let us know about permits, bays or a driveway when you book. The visit is then planned around what’s available.

Do you work for landlords with property near Harringay Green Lanes station?

Yes, rental work is part of what we do. Just call 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and tell us about the property, and we will give you a clear quote.

Do the sealants smell?

Some sealants have a smell while they cure, which fades as it sets. Ventilation helps.

Is the work guaranteed?

Every job comes with our 12-month guarantee.

How long will you be here?

It depends on the size of the job, but as a guide it takes an hour or two for a few joints, longer for a full run. We’ll give you a better idea when we quote.

What about gutters on a second or third storey?

Low gutters are simple to reach. If it’s higher up, let us know and we will confirm the access.

Is it worth trying it myself?

Sometimes. Preparation is everything: all the old sealant out, and a clean, dry joint. If it does not work out, we can redo it.

How long before the joint can be used?

It depends on the product. We tell you how long to leave it before we go.
