Glazing & conservatory sealant in Waterloo, North Lanarkshire
Glazing silicone across Waterloo and nearby, with every bit of old sealant taken out first and a 12-month guarantee.
- Water tracking down the inner face of the glass
- Glass-to-glass joints that have split
- Leaks where conservatory glass meets the frame
Why it’s worth doing now in Waterloo
Resealing can’t fix a failed unit or a cracked panel. We say so plainly and point you to a glazier or roofer. Exposed walls in smaller Scottish places take a lot of wind and rain, and once water gets behind a failed joint, damp in stone or harled walls is slow to dry out.
We do not show prices on the website, because each job is priced on what it involves. For a quick quote, please send an email to info@mrmastic.co.uk.

Glazing silicone in Waterloo, done properly
We work across Waterloo on glazing joints for homes and businesses. From conservatories to shower screens, it’s the same careful method, with a sealant chosen for the joint. We work on rooflights, glass-to-glass joints and glass-to-frame joints, and common reasons people get in touch are water tracking down the inner face of the glass and stained, discoloured glazing silicone.
Many older Scottish homes still have timber windows set into stone walls. Those suit a traditional sand mastic or a neutral-cure sealant, not an acetoxy silicone that can attack some stone.
All of our work is guaranteed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you are.

More services for Waterloo
For landlords and businesses
A neglected joint can let water reach the structure, which is a bigger problem in a rented property. Keeping joints in good order is simple maintenance that we can handle for you.
We also work for businesses, from offices to washrooms and kitchens. On commercial sites, working times can be discussed when we quote.
Windows and doors in Waterloo
Many older homes in Scotland have sash and case windows, and the joint between the box frame and the stone or render is traditionally pointed with sand mastic. Private landlords in Scotland must meet the Repairing Standard, which includes keeping a home wind and watertight, and sound outside sealant is part of that.
Letting a property close to Wishaw station? Then leaking glazing joints, shower screens or conservatory seals are worth sorting between tenancies. In the older streets around Overtown Parish Church, the joint between an old wall and a newer frame is normally the first place rain gets in.

Different surfaces, different methods
Glass balustrade bases
Glass balustrades sit in a channel that is often finished with sealant. When it fails, water can sit in the channel.
Shower screens
Frameless screens rely on silicone at the base and wall. We reseal without scratching the glass.
FAQs for Waterloo
Do you cover smaller places like Waterloo?
Yes, we do. We work across all of Scotland, from towns to the smallest places. The journey is planned ahead, so it helps to know about access.
Do you work for landlords with property near Wishaw station?
Yes, we work for landlords and letting agents. Just email us at info@mrmastic.co.uk and tell us about the property, and we’ll give you a clear quote.
What do you need from me for a quote?
The location, the problem and the rough size of the job. Photos by email help too.
Will there be a smell?
Possibly a little. Any smell clears as the sealant cures, and ventilation helps.
How long should I leave it?
Many sealants skin over quickly but take longer to cure fully. We will give you the cure time for the product we used.
Can you reseal a frameless shower screen?
Yes, it’s a common job. We use anti-fungal silicone suited to bathrooms.
Can you match the sealant colour?
We will suggest a colour to suit the surroundings, from white and clear to greys and other shades. The product needed can limit the range.
Where is Mr Mastic based?
We work from Crawley. Our applicators cover Waterloo, along with the rest of our area.

Advice
Can I do it myself?
The biggest DIY mistake is sealing over old sealant. New silicone will not bond to old, so it lifts and traps water and mould underneath. Everything old must be removed first.
The difference is mostly in the preparation and the product. Joints are cleaned back to sound surfaces and dried, and the sealant is chosen for how the joint moves and where it is, and the work is guaranteed for a year.
Looking after it afterwards
After the cure time, these simple habits help:
- Avoid scraping close to the bead
- Avoid strong solvents on or near the sealant
- Keep air moving in the conservatory
- Use a gentle glass cleaner and a soft cloth
Don’t use blades or scrapers near the bead when you clean. A soft cloth or sponge is best.
Conservatory leaks rarely stay small. Water runs along frames and down walls so it’s best dealt with straight away.
Signs you need glazing silicone in Waterloo
Shower screen silicone gets wet every day. Mould gets into it and the joint starts to lift.
Look out for these signs:
- Mouldy sealant around glass panels
- Water escaping where a screen meets the wall
- Failed sealant around rooflight glass
- Silicone pulling away from the glass
Schools such as St Aidan's High School are buildings too, and the mastic around its windows and doors needs looking after like any other building’s.
Before booking anyone

- How the joint is cleaned and prepared

- Are they insured?
