Beech Glazing Silicone
Our applicators work in Beech on glazing silicone for conservatories, rooflights, glass panels and shower screens. Old sealant removed completely, joints prepared properly.
- Water tracking down the inner face of the glass
- Sealant that was laid over old silicone and failed
- Failed joints on frameless glass
Glazing silicone in Beech, done properly
Not every silicone suits glass. Our applicators use neutral-cure glazing silicone that’s suited to glass and the frame, and we tool it to a neat, even finish. We are often asked to deal with leaks where conservatory glass meets the frame and glass-to-glass joints that have split, on glass-to-frame joints, rooflights and shower screens.
Homes in small places like Beech often stand in the open, with little to shelter their windows from wind and rain. That exposure dries out and cracks the mastic around frames and sills faster.
All of our work is guaranteed for twelve months.

How the job changes by surface
Rooflights
Rooflights get the full force of the weather. Its sealant ages faster than vertical joints.
Conservatory frames
Leaks often start where the frame meets the wall. We cut out the old sealant and reseal.
What affects the quote in Beech
Jobs vary more than people expect. What affects the quote:
- Whether old sealant or filler has to be cut out
- How easy the joints are to reach
- The size of the job
- Mould in or behind the old joints
Homes and businesses are quoted the same way: the amount of work, the access and the products needed, along with when we can work on site. Call for a quick quote and we’ll go through it with you.
Helping us quote
There’s no need for technical detail. Just tell us:
- Pictures of the joints, sent by email
- What the problem is, such as mould, gaps, leaks or cracking
- Whether it has been sealed before
- Where the property is
The more we know about the job, the more useful the quote. Tell us where the job is, what’s wrong and how much there is, and add photos by email if you can.
Looking after it afterwards
After the cure time, these simple habits help:
- Use gentle products around the joints
- Ventilate the conservatory to cut condensation
- Do not leave a drip for the next storm
- Wipe the screen down after showering
Avoid scraping near the new silicone when you clean. Stick to a soft cloth.
A leaking shower screen may not show at first. It can damage the floor or the ceiling below before you spot it.
Landlord and commercial work in Beech
In hotels, rooms out of use cost money, so the work can be planned room by room. We have worked in hotels as well as homes and businesses.
If you manage several properties in or around Beech, several properties can go on one quote. Send us the addresses and the work at each.
How it works
On the day, we start by going over the job with you, so there are no surprises. We protect the surfaces around the joints before any work begins. The work normally takes anything from an hour or two to most of a day, depending on the size of the job. Somewhere like Beech needs a little journey planning: tell us about narrow lanes, gates, long drives and where we can park. We bring what the job needs, so it can be finished in one trip where possible.
- First, we check where the water gets in.
- We remove the old sealant carefully.
- The joint is cleaned and degreased.
- A neutral-cure glazing silicone is applied and tooled.
- Each joint is checked and, where possible, water-tested.
Preparing for the visit
- Mention any parking rules near the property
- On commercial sites, let us know about site rules
- Tell us about access, such as stairs, a lift or high-level joints

DIY sealant or a professional job?
If you’ve already had a go yourself, that’s fine. We remove it and do the joint properly, so just mention it when you contact us.
Sealing over old silicone is the commonest DIY error. New silicone won’t bond to old, so it lifts and traps water and mould underneath. Everything old must be removed first.
Glazing silicone in Beech: local notes
London and the South East are among the drier parts of the UK, yet outdoor joints still have to be sealed dry, so jobs are booked with the weather in mind. With historic houses such as Bentworth Hall (about 1.5 miles west) nearby, there’s older building stock in the area around Beech as well as newer homes. Where a home is older, older timber frames in brick or stone need a different approach from a modern uPVC window.
If you let a flat or house near Alton station, glazing joints are worth checking at the end of a tenancy, before a small leak grows. For an older house near a landmark such as St Peter's, frames set in older brick or stone need a sealant that suits the wall as well as the frame. Managing a site like Amery Hill School? Then its window and door frames need their mastic kept sound, just like a home’s.

When it isn’t the sealant
Some problems need a builder, plumber or other trade rather than us:
- Frames that have decayed or split
- A roof that has moved or dropped
- Leaks from the roof covering or flashing (a roofer’s job)

Your questions about glazing silicone in Beech
Will you come out to Beech?
Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. We work across London and the South East. Just mention lanes, gates or anything else about the route when you book.
Do you cover Beech for glazing silicone?
Yes. Our work covers London and the South East, and Beech is part of that. Just ring 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email with a few details of the job, and we’ll give you a clear quote.
Is it possible to redo the silicone on a shower screen?
We can. The old bead comes off without marking the glass, and the joints are cleaned and resealed.
Will resealing stop my conservatory leaking?
In many cases, as long as sealant is the cause. We find where the water gets in first before any sealing.
Will the old sealant be removed?
Yes. All of the old material is cut out and the joint cleaned before applying anything new.
What sealant do you use?
It depends on the joint: anti-fungal sanitary silicone in wet areas, and other sealants where joints move or face the weather. We use products from Arbo and Everbuild.
Can you match the sealant colour?
Most of the time, yes. We’ll explain which colours are available.
Will it make a mess?
No. We protect the surfaces around the joints, and we tidy up before we go.
