Terrick Floor Joint Sealing
Professional floor joint sealing in and around Terrick, with every bit of old sealant taken out first and a one-year guarantee.
- Rigid edge joints in tiled floors
- Gaps between floors and kitchen plinths
- Chipped and open joints in warehouse floors
Why act early in Terrick
Left open, concrete joints break down under traffic. A sealed joint supports the edges and keeps the damage down. In a small place like Terrick, homes can be exposed to wind and rain, which finds any gap, and damp in older walls is slow to dry out.
We don’t show prices on the website, because the cost depends so much on the job itself. Call for a quick quote and we will talk you through it.
What you get with us
- White, clear, grey or coloured to suit, where the product allows
- Colour picked to suit the job

Floor joint sealing in Terrick, done properly
A threshold joint has to cope with feet, movement and sometimes water. We seal them with a flexible sealant suited to the floor finishes either side. We are often asked to deal with perimeter joints in tiled floors filled with grout and open joints that fill with dirt, on concrete floor joints, tiled floors and wet room & bathroom floors.
Older homes in small places like Terrick often have timber floors that move with the seasons, so skirting and threshold joints need a flexible sealant rather than a rigid filler.
We guarantee the work for a year. If something is not right with it in that time, tell us and we’ll put it right.

How the visit works
You do not need to clear the whole room or building before we come, only the area right around the joints. Everything nearby is protected, and the work takes a few hours for most rooms, longer for large commercial floors in most cases. Somewhere as small as Terrick, access is often the only tricky part. If the job is outside, mention outbuildings, exposed walls and how to reach them.
- The room is cleared along the joints so we can reach them.
- Old material is removed from the joint.
- We clean and dry the edges of the joint.
- We apply a flexible sealant suited to the floor and smooth it.
- We check the joints and explain the aftercare.
Before we arrive
- Clear items away from the joints we’re working on
- Mention any sign-in or site rules at work premises
- Let us know about parking restrictions

Related advice
DIY sealant or a professional job?
Sealing over old silicone is the commonest DIY error. New silicone will not bond to old, so it lifts and traps water and mould underneath. Everything old must be removed first.
If you do try it yourself, take your time over the preparation: remove every trace of old sealant, clean and dry the joint, and follow the product’s cure time. If it fails, we can still redo it.

Honest limits
Honest advice matters more to us than a booking, so here’s what new sealant won’t do:
- Cracked or broken concrete slabs
- Structural movement or subsidence
- Loose, hollow or cracked tiles, which need a tiler

How the job changes by surface
Commercial floors
Commercial washrooms and kitchens have floor joints that get wet constantly. They’re resealed with a flexible, water-resistant sealant.
Skirting boards
Skirting-to-floor joints are a regular job for us. We take out any cracked caulk before sealing so the new sealant bonds.

What we are called out for in Terrick
Some floors were never given a perimeter gap or movement joint. As it expands, the edges lift or crack, and the sealant or grout breaks.
Keep an eye out for these signs:
- Gaps opening between the floor and skirting
- Gaps at thresholds between rooms
- Cracked caulk along skirting in bathrooms and kitchens
- Cracked grout where a tiled floor needs a movement joint
Community buildings like Church of St Peter and St Paul are part of the picture too: joints in its floors, skirtings and thresholds need resealing as they wear.
