Bathroom Resealing in Wyddial
Problem with your baths, showers and worktops in Wyddial? We remove the old material, prepare the joints and seal them properly.
- Splits where the tray meets the wall
- Leaks into the floor or ceiling below
- Two layers of silicone, both failing
Bathroom resealing in Wyddial, done properly
We fill the bath before sealing it. The weight settles the bath to its lowest point, so the bead is not stretched the first time someone gets in. It’s a small step that rushed reseals tend to skip. Typical jobs include a reseal done over the top of the old bead and leaking joints on a shower screen, across wet rooms, basins & vanity units and baths.
Being in a small place like Wyddial makes no difference to the job itself: it just means planning the journey and access beforehand. Once we are there, the bathroom or kitchen gets the same care as anywhere else.
We guarantee the work for a year. If something isn’t right with it in that time, tell us and we will put it right.

The process
We keep the work tidy and contained to the joints we are treating, so you can get on with your day. Expect the work to take around two hours for one bath or shower, longer for a whole bathroom, and we tell you how long to leave it before we go. In a small place like Wyddial, access is usually the main thing to plan. If the job is outside, mention outbuildings, exposed walls and how to reach them.
- Protection goes down around the bath, shower or worktop.
- We cut away the old sealant and clean off what’s left.
- Mould is treated, then the joint is left to dry thoroughly.
- Baths are filled first, then anti-fungal sanitary silicone is applied in a colour to suit.
- We finish the joint, clear up and tell you how long to leave it before it gets wet.
Getting ready for the visit
- For indoor joints, keep the area dry beforehand if you can
- Mention any sign-in or site rules at work premises
- Mention any tricky access

Advice
How we quote for bathroom resealing
The quote reflects the job in front of us. We look at:
- When we can work, for business premises
- Any mould that needs treating
- How many rooms, windows or areas are involved
- Whether the work is at height
The cost depends on the amount of work, how hard the old material is to remove and access to the work. We give a clear quote before any work starts.
What to tell us for a quote
You don’t need to know the technical terms. It helps if you can tell us:
- Access, such as stairs, a lift or height
- Photos by email, if that’s easy
- The address or postcode of the job
- What’s wrong with the joints now
For bathroom resealing in Wyddial, phone 0345 464 0079 or email us. A short description of the job and where it is helps us quote, and we’ll agree the price before any work begins.
Bathroom resealing around Wyddial
Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.
Managing a site like Layston Church of England First School? Then we reseal washrooms and kitchens in schools and businesses as well as homes. Homes close to Church of St Giles include some older properties, and older homes can move a little, which is hard on rigid grout and tired sealant.

What the job involves on each surface
Wet rooms
Wet room floors move slightly as they’re used, so the internal corners need silicone rather than grout. Where grout in a corner has cracked, we can replace it with sealant.
Sinks & splashbacks
Next to the sink, the sealant has to cope with constant water, including a food-safe sealant where that’s needed. The bead is finished smooth so it wipes clean.
Wyddial questions
Can you do bathroom resealing in Wyddial?
Yes. We work across London and the South East, and Wyddial is part of that. Just ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email with a few details of the job, and we will send you a clear quote.
Is Wyddial within the area you cover?
Yes, Wyddial is covered. We work across London and the South East, and smaller places are part of that. The journey is planned ahead, so it helps to know about access.
What do you need from me for a quote?
The location, the problem and the rough size of the job. Photos by email help too.
What colours of sealant can you use?
White and clear are the most common choices, and other colours are available to suit tiles, trays and worktops. Tell us what you’d like when you get in touch.
Does someone need to be in?
That depends on where the joints are. Inside work needs someone to give us access, and for outside work we’ll agree access with you when we book.
Do you work for letting agents?
Yes, often. Several properties can be quoted together.
Is there any odour?
Sometimes, a little. It fades as the sealant cures.
My sealant has gone black. Can you sort it?
Yes, by replacing the sealant. Sprays can fade the marks, but cutting it out and resealing is what lasts. Good ventilation helps keep it away.
Why deal with it now?
A quick bead over the top of the old one might look better for a while, but it can’t stick to what’s underneath. Water creeps under it and mould follows, and the next reseal means two layers to cut out. Around Wyddial, older homes often have timber in their floors and frames, where water from a failed joint can cause rot if it’s left.
Leaving a failed joint generally makes the job bigger, not smaller. If you are unsure, call 0345 464 0079 or email us and we will give you an honest view and a quote.

When it isn’t the sealant
Some problems need a builder, plumber or other trade rather than us:
- A leaking waste, trap or valve
- Water getting in through the grout rather than the sealant
- Damage behind the tiles that needs a tiler
If in doubt, call 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and we’ll say what we think.

Keeping the joints in good condition
Once the sealant has cured, a few habits help it last:
- Wipe the sealant dry after showering
- Never pick at the silicone with a blade
- Run the extractor fan during and after every shower
- Move toiletries away from the joint
Don’t stand bottles along the bead, as they hold water against it. Squeegeeing the walls and tray after use keeps water from sitting on the joint.
Worktop joints fail quietly. Water gets behind the upstand and into the edge of a laminate worktop, where it can make the board swell. Resealing before that happens protects the worktop.
