Stud Green Bathroom Resealing
Professional bathroom resealing in and around Stud Green, with old sealant always removed completely.
- Black spots spreading through the bead
- Water escaping at the shower enclosure
- A reseal done over the top of the old bead
Bathroom resealing in Stud Green
Showers work their sealant harder than baths. Tray edges, screen profiles and wet room joints all rely on silicone to stay watertight. Each gets a bead of anti-fungal sanitary silicone, finished smooth so water drains away rather than collecting. Typical jobs include gaps between the worktop and the wall and failed sealant on the screen profile, across basins & vanity units, baths and shower trays & enclosures.
Homes around Stud Green are mostly houses and cottages rather than flats. Sealant and grout wear out here just as they do anywhere: old material cut out, joints cleaned and a fresh finish laid.
You are covered for a year from the day we finish. If anything is not right with it, call 0345 464 0079 or email us.

DIY versus a professional finish
Overfilling a joint is a classic DIY mistake. A thick, smeared bead looks untidy and doesn’t move well, and getting the depth right matters as much as the look.
If you do try it yourself, take your time over the preparation: remove every trace of old sealant, clean and dry the joint, and follow the product’s cure time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still put it right.

For landlords and businesses
Landlords and letting agents in Stud Green can book us as well as householders. Resealing between tenancies is a simple way to keep a property in good order before the next move-in.
Whether it’s one flat or a portfolio, the work is the same standard: old sealant fully removed, joints prepared properly and a one-year guarantee.
How the job changes by surface
Kitchen worktops & upstands
The joint between worktop and wall takes splashes, crumbs and cleaning sprays. The new bead is colour-matched where it shows, so the line doesn’t stand out.
Shower trays & enclosures
Shower trays are sealed to the wall, and enclosures are sealed to the tray and tiles. Both take water every day, so both are resealed with anti-fungal sanitary silicone.
What we can’t put right
New sealant can’t fix everything, and we’ll tell you before work begins. Sealant will not put right:
- Movement from a bath with loose feet or no proper support
- Water coming from the plumbing rather than the joint
- Failed grout lines across the wall
If in doubt, phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and we’ll say what we think before you book.

The process
When we get to you, we check the joints match what you told us. If we find something unexpected, we talk it through with you first. After that, the work takes a morning or an afternoon for most single baths and showers. For a village or hamlet like Stud Green, the journey is planned in advance: tell us about narrow lanes, gates, long drives and where we can park. Everything for the job comes with us, so a second trip is avoided where possible.
- First, each joint is checked for movement and signs of water.
- Every trace of the old bead is removed, including the thin smear on the tiles.
- The joint is cleaned, degreased and treated for mould.
- When the joint is dry, and a bath has been filled with water, the new silicone goes on.
- The bead is tooled smooth and you are told the cure time, generally around 24 hours.
Before we arrive
- For indoor joints, keep the area dry beforehand if you can
- Clear items away from the joints we’re working on
- Mention if the joints have been sealed before

Advice
Your questions about bathroom resealing in Stud Green
Will you come out to Stud Green?
Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. Our work covers London and the South East. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.
Is Stud Green in your area for bathroom resealing?
Yes, Stud Green is within the area we cover. We work across London and the South East. You can call 0345 464 0079 or email us and let us know what needs doing.
Can I choose the colour of the sealant?
Most people choose white or clear, and other colours are available to suit tiles, trays and worktops. Let us know your preference when you ask for a quote.
How long does the new silicone need before I use the shower?
Around 24 hours is typical, and we confirm the time for the product used. Using it sooner can damage the bead.
Can mouldy silicone be sorted out?
Yes. Once mould has grown into the silicone, it usually cannot be cleaned out for good, so the bead comes out, the joint is treated and new anti-fungal silicone goes in.
Do the sealants smell?
Some sealants have a smell while they cure. Ventilation helps.
Can new silicone go straight over the old?
No. New silicone won’t bond to old silicone, so it lifts and traps water and mould underneath. We always take the old sealant out completely.
Do you guarantee your resealing?
Yes, a 12-month guarantee. Good ventilation and gentle cleaning help it last.
What happens if it’s left?
Tired sealant is not a reason to replace a bath or shower. Replacing the joint is usually all it takes, as long as the fittings themselves are sound. If we find a deeper problem, you’ll hear it from us. Where a wall is exposed, as many are in small places like Stud Green, wind-driven rain gets into any failed joint, and damp in older walls is slow to dry out.
What you pay reflects the work, not a rough estimate. That’s why we ask about the job first.

Bathrooms and kitchens in Stud Green
Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings.
If you look after a building such as Holyport College, washroom and kitchen sealant there needs the same care as at home, and schools and businesses are part of our work as well as homes. Letting a property close to Maidenhead station? Then mouldy sealant is one of the first things a new tenant notices, so it’s worth renewing between lets.

How to look after the new joints
Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:
- Do not let bottles sit on the bead
- Wipe the sealant dry after showering
- Dry worktop joints after washing up
- Keep the fan on for a while after bathing
Check the sealant now and then. Small splits and lifting ends are easy to catch early, so if something doesn’t look right, just ring 0345 464 0079 or email us.
Small signs come before a leak: lifting ends, gaps, dark shadows under the bead or a stain downstairs. If you spot one, it’s time to reseal.
