What affects the cost of bathroom resealing
We do not publish a price list, because no two jobs are the same. What we look at:
- Whether old sealant or filler has to be cut out
- Any working-time requirements on site
- How easy the joints are to reach
- Whether there’s mould to deal with
Combining jobs into one visit usually makes better use of the time than several visits, so it’s worth mentioning everything you’d like done. You will get one clear quote for the whole job.
What to tell us for a quote
Before you ask for a quote, have a think about:
- A few photos by email, if you can
- Any access issues, like height or stairs
- Roughly how big the job is
- Where the property is
For a quick quote, get us on the phone, or email us if that is easier. Tell us about the joints that need doing and we will explain what’s involved before giving you a price.
Bathroom resealing in Rush Green
With over 20 years in the trade, we reseal baths, showers and kitchens in homes across Rush Green. We are fully insured ARBOMaster approved applicators, and every job carries our one-year guarantee. We work on kitchen worktops & upstands, baths and sinks & splashbacks, and people most often call us about shrunken sealant along the back of a worktop and mouldy sealant that has gone black.
In a smaller place like Rush Green, homes are mostly houses and bungalows rather than flats, some older and some much newer. Sealant and grout wear out here just as they do in a big town.
We guarantee the work for a year. If something is not right with it in that time, tell us and we will put it right.

Aftercare tips
So the new joints stay in good condition:
- Run the extractor fan during and after every shower
- Dry the bead with a towel now and then
- Do not let bottles sit on the bead
- Avoid abrasive pads on the sealant
Keep water off the new bead until it has cured, which is usually around 24 hours. After that, a quick wipe after showering helps keep it clean.
A failed kitchen joint is easy to miss. Water gets behind the upstand and into the edge of a laminate worktop, where it can make the board swell. Resealing before that happens protects the worktop.
What we cannot put right
Before booking, it’s worth knowing the limits:
- Water coming from the plumbing rather than the joint
- Movement from a bath with loose feet or no proper support
- Failed grout lines across the wall
If in doubt, ring 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and we’ll say what we think.

Can I do it myself?
Some sealant jobs are within reach of a careful DIYer, like a short, easy-to-reach joint indoors. Where it goes wrong is sealing over the old bead, working on a wet joint or overloading the gap.
The biggest DIY mistake is sealing over old sealant. New silicone won’t bond to old, so it peels away and traps moisture behind it. All the old material has to come out first.
The process
Every visit runs the same way: we look at the joints together, mask and protect the surrounding surfaces, do the work and clear up. Most jobs take a morning or an afternoon for most single baths and showers. Parking around Rush Green is generally easier than in a town centre, but mention any lanes, gates or long drives. If the job is outside, tell us about side access and how high the joints are.
- We cover the area around the joints we’re working on.
- Old sealant is sliced away and the residue removed.
- Mould is treated, then the joint is left to dry thoroughly.
- Baths are filled first, then anti-fungal sanitary silicone is applied in a colour to suit.
- The joint is finished neatly and we explain when it can get wet.
Before we arrive
- Let us know about stairs, lifts or work at height
- Mention if the joints have been sealed before
- Where the joints are inside, avoid wetting them before we arrive
Ask for a quote
Getting a quote is simple: let us know the job and the location, and roughly how big it is. A few photos by email make the job easier to understand, and we’ll come back to you with a quote.

Bathroom resealing around Rush Green
Rush Green is close to the coast. Coastal homes, holiday lets and guest houses can see heavy bathroom use in busy months, which wears sealant and grout out faster than in a quiet home. There are hotels and other places to stay in and around Rush Green. Hotel bathrooms are part of our work as well as homes, and can be done room by room.
For an older house near a landmark such as Church of St James, older homes can move a little, which is hard on rigid grout and tired sealant. For landlords with property near Clacton-On-Sea station, fresh sealant around the bath, shower and sink between tenancies helps a property present well and keeps leaks at bay. Managing a site like Ravens Academy? Then its toilets, changing areas and kitchens need their sealant renewed like any other building’s.

What happens if it’s left?
Fresh sealant smartens a bathroom or kitchen with very little disruption, which matters if you’re letting a property or selling it. Lumpy sealant with smears on the tiles has the opposite effect, and it’s harder to put right later. Around Rush Green, water from a failed joint in an older home can soak into timber and plaster, which is far harder to put right than the sealant itself.
No two jobs are quite the same, so each one gets its own quote. Size, access and the product the joint needs all play a part, and we will explain the quote if you ask.

FAQs for Rush Green
Do you take on hotel work around Rush Green?
Yes, hotels and guest houses are among the places we work. A room-by-room programme keeps most rooms in use while the work goes on.
Will you come out to Rush Green?
Yes, we do. We work across London and the South East, from towns to the smallest places. Longer journeys are simply planned in advance.
Can you quote for more than one area?
Yes, and it often makes sense. Doing several areas at once is normally more efficient.
How long does a bath or shower reseal take?
One bath or shower is around two hours’ work, old sealant removal included. A full bathroom and kitchen can take most of a day.
Is it messy?
Tidy work is part of the job. We protect what’s around the joints, and the area is left clean when we finish.
Are you an approved applicator?
Yes. ARBOMaster is the approved applicator scheme for Arbo sealants, and we’re part of it.
Is it worth trying it myself?
Sometimes. Preparation is everything: all the old sealant out, and a clean, dry joint. We can always put it right if it fails.
Do you remove the old sealant?
Yes, every time. New silicone does not stick to old silicone, so the joint is cleaned back first.
