Rock Bathroom Resealing
Bathroom resealing across Rock and nearby, with every bit of old sealant taken out first and a 12-month guarantee.
- Leaking joints on a shower screen
- Black mould in the silicone that will not clean off
- Damp behind the bath or under the tray
What happens on the day
There’s no need to move everything out before we come, just the space around the work. Everything nearby is protected, and the job takes around two hours for one bath or shower, longer for a whole bathroom in most cases. Somewhere as small as Rock, access is often the only tricky part. For outside work, also let us know about exposed walls and any outbuildings involved.
- First the area is protected and every bit of old sealant removed, including the film left on the tiles.
- Next, the joint is cleaned and any mould is treated.
- The joint is left to dry, and baths are filled with water first.
- New anti-fungal silicone goes on in a colour to suit and is tooled to a clean finish.
- We tidy up and give you the cure time, generally around 24 hours.
Getting ready for the visit
- Mention any leaks or damp you’ve noticed
- Clear items away from the joints we’re working on
- Mention any sign-in or site rules at work premises

How we handle bathroom resealing in Rock
Across Rock, the joints we reseal are the ones that fail in any home: the long edge of the bath, the base of the shower tray, the back of the basin and the line along the worktop. Each one is stripped, cleaned and dried before new silicone goes in. We work on shower trays & enclosures, sinks & splashbacks and baths, and people most often call us about gaps where the bath or tray has moved and leaks into the floor or ceiling below.
For a small place like Rock, bathroom resealing is planned like any other job: the journey and access are simply agreed in advance. In the bathroom or kitchen, the work is the same as in any town.
Whatever the size of the job, you get the same 12-month guarantee.

What we can’t put right
Sealant isn’t the answer to every problem, and we’ll tell you before any work starts. Sealant won’t put right:
- Loose or hollow tiles, or failed tanking behind them
- Cracks in the tray itself rather than the joint
- Water getting in through the grout rather than the sealant
If in doubt, ring 0345 464 0079 or email us and we will say what we think before booking.

How the job changes by surface
Sinks & splashbacks
Where a splashback meets the worktop, there’s a joint that catches every splash. We renew it in clear, white or a matched colour.
Wet rooms
A wet room floor and its walls can move independently, so the internal corners need silicone rather than grout. Where grout in a corner has cracked, we can replace it with sealant.
Landlords, agents and businesses in Rock
Failed sealant is one of the commonest items on a check-out report, and it’s easy to sort out between tenants. Several properties can be quoted together.
Housing providers, facilities teams and property managers book us too. We can quote a run of properties together, and we are fully insured for the work.

What bathroom resealing looks like in Rock
Most of the South East has hard water, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings.
Homes close to The Parish Church of St Mary include some older properties, and older homes can move a little, which is hard on rigid grout and tired sealant.

Why act early in Rock
Running new silicone over the old joint can look tidy for a few weeks, but it cannot stick to what’s underneath. It lifts, traps water and grows mould behind it, and the next reseal means two layers to cut out. Where a wall is exposed, as many are in small places like Rock, wind-driven rain gets into any failed joint, and damp in older walls is slow to dry out.
A few things move the cost up or down: the old material and how easily it comes out, any mould to treat, and whether we need extra access for height. We take all of that into account in your quote.
What you get with us
- White, clear, grey or another colour, product permitting
- Sealant colour chosen to suit
- 20+ years of sealant experience
- Quality sealants from Arbo and Everbuild
Aftercare tips
Good habits help new joints last longer. Our tips:
- Stick to a soft cloth and a mild cleaner
- Look for lifting corners and small gaps now and then
- Squeegee the walls and tray after use
- Keep the fan on for a while after bathing
Clean the silicone with care: a mild bathroom cleaner and a soft cloth is enough. Avoid scouring pads and anything sharp, because a damaged bead gives mould a foothold.
Worktop joints fail quietly. Splashes run behind the back edge and soak into the worktop, where it can make the board swell. Resealing before that happens protects the worktop.
Rock: your questions answered
Can you do bathroom resealing in Rock?
Yes. Our work covers London and the South East, and Rock is part of that. Just ring 0345 464 0079 or email us with a few details of the job.
Will you come out to Rock?
Yes, Rock is covered. Our work covers London and the South East, from towns to the smallest places. Longer journeys are simply planned in advance.
Will the old sealant be removed?
Yes. All of the old material is cut out and the joint cleaned before applying anything new.
Can you do several jobs on one visit?
Yes. Just list everything you need and we’ll quote it together.
Will there be a smell?
It depends on the product. Some products have a noticeable smell, others very little, and any smell fades as they cure.
When can I use the bath or shower again?
We give you the cure time before we leave, and it’s normally around 24 hours. Getting it wet too early can spoil the new joint.
Do I need to be at home?
If the work is inside, we need someone to let us in. Once we have agreed the job, you do not need to watch us work.
Can tenants book the work?
We are happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Just make sure your landlord agrees.
Do you need bathroom resealing in Rock?
No sealant lasts indefinitely. Every shower, every splash and every wipe with a cleaner take their toll over the years, so its life depends on how the room is used, cleaned and aired.
The problems people usually mention when they call include:
- Water getting behind the kitchen upstand
- Water escaping at the shower enclosure
- Splits where the tray meets the wall
- A reseal done over the top of the old bead
If you look after a building such as St Mary's CofE Primary School, washroom and kitchen sealant there needs the same care as at home, and schools and businesses are part of our work as well as homes.
What your quote should include
- Whether the sealant suits the joint
- How long the guarantee is
- What insurance they hold
- Whether all the old sealant comes out first
