Bathroom resealing in Lower Horncroft
Sealant is the soft line between a bath, shower or worktop and the wall. When it splits, shrinks or turns black, water gets behind it. Our team cut the old bead out completely and lay a new one in anti-fungal sanitary silicone. We work on basins & vanity units, baths and sinks & splashbacks, and common reasons people get in touch are damp behind the bath or under the tray and shrunken sealant along the back of a worktop.
Being in a small place like Lower Horncroft makes no difference to the job itself: the journey and access are simply agreed in advance. Once we’re there, the bathroom or kitchen gets the same care as anywhere else.
All our work is covered by a one-year guarantee, wherever you are in West Sussex.

What we can’t put right
It helps to know what we can’t do:
- Leaks from a shower valve, waste or pipework (a plumber’s job)
- Failed grout lines across the wall
- Cracks in the tray itself rather than the joint
If you’re not sure, just ring 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

Quotes for bathroom resealing in Lower Horncroft
Jobs vary more than people expect. What affects the quote:
- Access and height
- Whether there’s mould to deal with
- The size of the job
- How many rooms, windows or areas are involved
Homes and businesses are quoted the same way: the amount of work, the access and the products needed. Ask us for a quote and we’ll go through it with you.
Helping us quote
A few details help us give you an accurate quote. When you get in contact, it helps to mention:
- The problem you’ve noticed
- The address or postcode of the job
- If someone has resealed it before
- If it’s domestic, commercial or a hotel
There’s no standard price list, as no two jobs are quite the same. Instead, we give you a clear quote for your job. To get started, phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email.
Your questions about bathroom resealing in Lower Horncroft
Do you work for landlords with property near Pulborough station?
Yes, rental work is part of what we do. You can call 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email with the address and a few details, and we will give you a fixed price before we start.
Is Lower Horncroft within the area you cover?
Yes, Lower Horncroft is covered. Our work covers London and the South East, and smaller places are part of that. The journey is planned ahead, so it helps to know about access.
Do I need to be at home?
For indoor joints, yes, someone needs to let us in. Once we’ve agreed the job, you do not need to watch us work.
Can you quote for more than one area?
Yes, we can. Several rooms, windows or areas can go on one quote.
How long will the resealing take?
It takes a couple of hours for one bath or shower, or most of a day for a full bathroom and kitchen. We’ll confirm how long your job needs when we quote.
Do you hold any approvals?
Yes. We hold ARBOMaster approved applicator status.
Will there be a smell?
Some sealants have a smell while they cure. Ventilation helps.
Will the old sealant be removed?
Yes. Sealing over old sealant is the main reason resealing fails early, and it’s something we never do.
Keeping the joints in good condition
Once the sealant has cured, a few habits help it last:
- Let new sealant cure fully before it gets wet
- Dry the bead with a towel now and then
- Wipe up water along the back of the worktop
- Use gentle cleaners on the silicone
Mould needs damp, so keep the room aired. Run the extractor fan during and after a shower, so the silicone gets a chance to dry.
A few black dots in the silicone soon become a black line. Once it’s deep in the silicone, cleaning usually will not remove it. Replacing the sealant early keeps the job small.
Landlords, agents and businesses in Lower Horncroft
Businesses can book us for washrooms, kitchens, offices and more. On commercial sites, working times can be discussed when we quote.
A neglected joint can let water reach the structure, which matters even more when someone else lives there. Resealing at the right time is simple maintenance.
Should I try it myself first?
If you’ve already had a go yourself, that’s fine. We remove it and do the joint properly, so just mention it when you contact us.
Some sealant jobs are within reach of a careful DIYer, like a short, easy-to-reach joint indoors. Where it goes wrong is sealing over the old bead, working on a wet joint or overloading the gap.
What happens if it’s left?
A quick bead over the top of the old one might look better for a while, but it won’t bond. Water creeps under it and mould follows. Around Lower Horncroft, older homes often have timber in their floors and frames, where water from a failed joint can cause rot if it’s left.
Every job is a little different, so we quote each one individually. The number of joints, how easy they are to reach and the sealant needed all play a part, and we will explain the quote if you ask.

Bathrooms and kitchens in Lower Horncroft
Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.
Schools such as Fittleworth CofE Village School are buildings too, and its toilets, changing areas and kitchens need their sealant renewed like any other building’s. Letting a property close to Pulborough station? Then mouldy sealant is one of the first things a new tenant notices, so it’s worth renewing between lets. Homes close to Church of St Agatha include some older properties, and walls and floors in older homes can move, and sealant and grout show it first.

What happens on the day
There is not much for you to do on the day. Point us to the joints and we’ll get on with it. The job generally takes two to three hours for a typical bath, depending on how much old sealant there is. Somewhere like Lower Horncroft needs a little journey planning: tell us about narrow lanes, gates, long drives and where we can park. We bring what the job needs, so it can be finished in one trip where possible.
