Bathroom resealing in Frant
Across Frant, the joints we reseal are the ones that fail in any home: the long edge of the bath, the base of the shower tray, the back of the basin and the line along the worktop. Each one is stripped, cleaned and dried before new silicone goes in. We work on kitchen worktops & upstands, sinks & splashbacks and shower trays & enclosures, and common reasons people get in touch are smears of silicone across the tiles and a joint torn by a bath that flexes.
Being in a small place like Frant makes no difference to the job itself: the journey and access are simply agreed in advance. In the bathroom or kitchen, the work is the same as in any town.
All of our work is guaranteed for twelve months.

Your questions about bathroom resealing in Frant
Do you cover Frant for bathroom resealing?
Yes, Frant is within the area we cover. Our work covers London and the South East. You can phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and let us know what needs doing.
Do you work for landlords with property near Frant station?
Yes. We work for landlords and agents as well as householders. You can phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email with the details for a clear quote.
Does someone need to be in?
If the work is inside, we need someone to let us in. After that, you can carry on with your day.
Is it worth trying it myself?
Sometimes. The key is preparation: remove all the old material and work on a clean, dry joint. We can always put it right if it fails.
My sealant has gone black. Can you sort it?
Yes. Mould inside the bead rarely cleans out for good, so the bead comes out, the joint is treated and new anti-fungal silicone goes in.
Can I add another job to the visit?
Of course. Doing several areas at once is normally more efficient, so mention them when you ask for a quote.
Can you work on commercial sites?
Yes. We work in offices, washrooms, hotels and other commercial premises, as well as homes. We can talk about working times when we quote.
How long before the new sealant can get wet?
Around 24 hours is typical, and we confirm the time for the product used. Getting it wet too early can spoil the new joint.
Honest limits
Before you book, it’s worth knowing the limits too:
- Leaks from a shower valve, waste or pipework (a plumber’s job)
- A tray or bath that is cracked through
- Cracked or missing grout between tiles (that’s regrouting)
Not sure which it is? You can ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

Why act early in Frant
Mould removers can fade the surface of a stained bead, but where mould is inside the silicone it generally comes back. The lasting answer is to remove the bead and start again. Where a wall is exposed, as many are in small places like Frant, wind-driven rain gets into any failed joint, and damp in older walls is slow to dry out.
Leaving a failed joint usually makes the job bigger, not smaller, because water and mould keep working on it. If you are unsure, phone 0345 464 0079 or email us and we will give you an honest view and a quote.

What happens on the day
Our applicators work methodically: protect, prepare, seal, tidy. For most jobs that takes a couple of hours for one bath or shower, or most of a day for a full bathroom and kitchen and we leave things clean and tidy. Somewhere like Frant needs a little journey planning: tell us about narrow lanes, gates, long drives and where we can park. We bring what the job needs, so it can be finished in one trip where possible.
- First, each joint is checked for movement and signs of water.
- The old silicone is cut out completely, along with the film it leaves on the tiles.
- Joints are degreased and any mould is treated.
- When the joint is dry, and a bath has been filled with water, the new silicone goes on.
- We tool the bead to a neat finish and give you the cure time, usually around 24 hours.
How to prepare
- Clear the area around the work
- Let us know if you’ve seen damp or leaks
- Keep pets and children clear of the area while we work

What else we do in Frant
How the job changes by surface
Basins & vanity units
Basin joints are short and close to eye level: so we keep the line tidy and even, in white, clear or a colour to suit.
Sinks & splashbacks
The edge of an inset sink is a common place for water to get under the worktop. Where the sealant around the visible edge has failed, we renew it.
Looking after it afterwards
Simple care keeps the joints in good condition. We recommend:
- Give the silicone its full cure time
- Dry the bead with a towel now and then
- Open a window or run the fan so the room dries
- Keep scourers and sharp tools away from the bead
Don’t stand bottles along the bead, as they hold water against it. Squeegeeing the walls and tray after use helps the joint dry.
A split bead lets water through every time the bath or shower is used. Over time that water reaches floors, walls and ceilings. Resealing early stops it.
Do you need bathroom resealing in Frant?
Plenty of failed sealant has been laid over the top of older sealant. Fresh silicone cannot grip the old bead underneath, so it peels, leaks and hides mould behind it.
Most people get in touch when they notice something like this:
- Water escaping at the shower enclosure
- Mouldy sealant that has gone black
- A reseal done over the top of the old bead
- Shrunken sealant along the back of a worktop
For an older house near a landmark such as The Parish Church of St Alban, older homes can move a little, which is hard on rigid grout and tired sealant.

How we quote for bathroom resealing
The quote reflects the job in front of us. We look at:
- Whether old sealant or filler has to be cut out
- The type of sealant required
- When we can work, for business premises
- Whether there’s mould to deal with
Doing several joints on one visit generally makes better use of the time than several visits, so it’s worth mentioning everything you’d like done. You’ll get one clear quote for the whole job.
Helping us quote
When you contact us, these details help:
- If someone has resealed it before
- Where the job is, and your postcode
- If it’s domestic, commercial or a hotel
- Any access issues, like height or stairs
We quote each job on its own. Just phone 0345 464 0079 or send us an email with the details, and photos are welcome.
