Your questions about bathroom resealing in Eastrop
Do you work for landlords with property near Basingstoke station?
Yes, rental work is part of what we do. You can call 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email with the address and a few details, and we’ll give you a fixed price before any work starts.
Is Eastrop within the area you cover?
Yes, Eastrop is covered. Our work covers London and the South East, from towns to the smallest places. Longer journeys are simply planned in advance.
Where do you work from?
Our base is Crawley. Our area covers South East England, London and Scotland.
What colours of sealant can you use?
Most people choose white or clear, but other colours can be used to suit tiles and worktops. Tell us what you’d like when you get in touch.
What should I tell you?
Let us know what needs doing and where. We’ll ask anything else we need to know.
Do you remove the old sealant?
Yes. All of the old material is cut out and the joint cleaned before resealing.
Will there be a smell?
Some sealants have a smell while they cure. Opening a window helps.
Can you get rid of the black mould in my sealant?
Yes, we can. The old sealant comes out, the mould is treated, and we reseal with anti-fungal sanitary silicone.
Bathroom resealing in Eastrop
A shower joint gets soaked every day. Tray edges, screen profiles and wet room joints all rely on silicone to stay watertight. They’re resealed with anti-fungal sanitary silicone, finished smooth so water drains away rather than collecting. If you have lumpy, uneven sealant from a DIY attempt and gaps where the bath or tray has moved, we can put it right.
In and around Eastrop, older properties sit alongside newer ones. Older homes can move a little with the seasons, which is hard on tired sealant and rigid grout.
A 12-month guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

How we quote for bathroom resealing
Some jobs are bigger than they look, and some smaller. The main factors:
- Any working-time requirements on site
- Whether old sealant or filler has to be cut out
- Access and height
- Whether there’s mould to deal with
What you pay reflects the work, not a rough estimate. That’s why we ask about the job first and agree the price before starting.
What to tell us for a quote
To help us quote quickly, let us know:
- The address or postcode of the job
- Pictures of the joints, sent by email
- The problem you’ve noticed
- How we’d reach the joints
The more we know about the job, the more useful the quote. Tell us where the job is, what’s wrong and how much there is, and add photos by email if you can.
Do you need bathroom resealing in Eastrop?
Older sealant shrinks and hardens. Along worktops it tends to pull back from the wall, opening a hairline gap that lets water and crumbs in. Hot pans and harsh cleaners don’t help.
The most common problems we see are:
- Failed sealant on the screen profile
- Black spots spreading through the bead
- A bead that has pulled away from the tiles
- Water getting behind the kitchen upstand
Managing a site like The Costello School? Then its toilets, changing areas and kitchens need their sealant renewed like any other building’s.

Bathroom resealing in Eastrop: local notes
Eastrop has hotels and guest accommodation nearby. As well as homes, we work in hotel bathrooms, where resealing and regrouting can be done room by room. Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings.
Homes close to Church of St Mary include some older properties, and timber floors under older bathrooms flex, so joints need a sealant that moves with them. If you let a flat or house near Basingstoke station, mouldy sealant is one of the first things a new tenant notices, so it’s worth renewing between lets.
Eastrop is about 1 mile east of Basingstoke, in Hampshire. From the centre of Eastrop to the outskirts, we cover bathroom resealing for every kind of property, from flats and houses to offices and hotels. Every address in RG21 and RG24 is within our area for bathroom resealing, from the main roads to the quietest streets. We cover properties on New Road, Vyne Road and Goat Lane. Being close to the A3010, Eastrop is easy for our applicators to reach. If you’re just outside Eastrop, we cover Oakridge (1 mile north-west), Viables (1 mile south), Lychpit (1 mile east), Popley (1 mile north) and Old Basing (2 miles east). We also work in nearby towns such as Farnborough (14 miles east), Fleet (11 miles east), Aldershot (14 miles east), Alton (9 miles south-east), Yateley (12 miles north-east) and Tadley (7 miles north-west).
Local landmarks in Eastrop

Nearby you will also find Festival Place (less than half a mile west) and Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital (1.6 miles north-west). Open spaces near Eastrop include Farleigh Hill and Daneshill Park Woods.
Why it’s worth doing now in Eastrop
A clean new bead makes a room look cared for, which helps when a home is being let or put on the market. A smeared, uneven DIY bead does the opposite. Homes in smaller places like Eastrop can face more weather, and failed outside joints let damp into walls. Inside, a split seal lets water into floors and panels just as it would anywhere.
Rather than a set price list, we look at what your job involves: the amount of work, the old material and the access. You’ll know the price before we begin.

Keeping the joints in good condition
Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:
- Wait for the cure time we give you
- Wipe up water along the back of the worktop
- Squeegee the walls and tray after use
- Keep scourers and sharp tools away from the bead
Keep water off the new bead until it has cured, which is normally around 24 hours. After that, a quick wipe after showering helps keep it clean.
Mould that starts as a few spots spreads through the bead. When it has grown right through, it rarely cleans out. Replacing the sealant early keeps the job small.
How it works
A visit follows a simple pattern: we check the joints, mask and protect the surrounding surfaces, carry out the job and clear up. Most jobs take two to three hours for a typical bath, depending on how much old sealant there is. In a smaller place like Eastrop, parking is seldom the issue; lanes, gates and long drives are worth mentioning. If the job is outside, tell us about side access and how high the joints are.
- We protect the area and cut out all of the old sealant.
- We clean and degrease the joint and treat any mould.
- Once it’s dry, any bath is filled so the bead is laid with it at its heaviest.
- New anti-fungal silicone goes on in a colour to suit and is tooled to a clean finish.
- Finally we tidy up and explain the cure time before we leave.
How to prepare
- Clear the area around the work
- Let us know if you’ve seen damp or leaks
- Where the joints are inside, avoid wetting them before we arrive

When it is not the sealant

- Tiles that have come away from the wall
- Failed grout lines across the wall
- A tray that rocks until it’s re-bedded

Should I try it myself first?
If you do try it yourself, take your time over the preparation: remove every trace of old sealant, clean and dry the joint, and follow the product’s cure time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still put it right.
A careful DIYer can reseal a simple joint, like a short, easy-to-reach joint indoors. Where it goes wrong is sealing over the old bead, working on a wet joint or overloading the gap.
