Bathroom Resealing in Ditchling
Our applicators work in Ditchling on bath, shower, basin, wet room, worktop and sink resealing. Old sealant removed completely, joints prepared properly and every job guaranteed for a year.
- A reseal done over the top of the old bead
- Cracked, shrunken or lifting silicone
- Splits where the tray meets the wall
Bathroom resealing in Ditchling
Sealant is the soft line between a bath, shower or worktop and the wall. When it splits, shrinks or turns black, water gets behind it and into the wall or floor. Our team cut the old bead out completely and lay a new one in anti-fungal sanitary silicone. We’re often asked to deal with leaking joints on a shower screen and smears of silicone across the tiles, across wet rooms, basins & vanity units and baths.
Around Ditchling, it’s houses and cottages rather than flats, some with bathrooms tucked into older rooms or extensions. The work is the same as anywhere: old material cut out, joints cleaned and a fresh finish laid.
All of our work is guaranteed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you are.

Ditchling homes and their sealant
There are hotels and other places to stay in and around Ditchling. Hotel bathrooms are part of our work as well as homes, and can be done room by room. Most of the South East has hard water, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings.
Homes close to Ditchling Unitarian Chapel include some older properties, and bathrooms in older houses have often been refitted more than once, with sealant laid over sealant. Letting a property close to Hassocks station? Then fresh sealant around the bath, shower and sink between tenancies helps a property present well and keeps leaks at bay. Managing a site like Ditchling (St Margaret's) Church of England Primary School? Then we reseal washrooms and kitchens in schools and businesses as well as homes.

What happens on the day
On the day, there’s very little for you to do. Point us to the joints and we’ll get on with it. The work itself takes a couple of hours for a single bath or shower, including the tidy-up. Somewhere like Ditchling needs a little journey planning: tell us about narrow lanes, gates, long drives and where we can park. We bring what the job needs, so it can be finished in one trip where possible.
- Protection goes down around the bath, shower or worktop.
- We cut away the old sealant and clean off what’s left.
- Mould is treated, then the joint is left to dry thoroughly.
- Any bath is filled with water, then we lay a bead of anti-fungal silicone in white, clear or a matching colour.
- We finish the joint, clear up and tell you how long to leave it before it gets wet.
Preparing for the visit
- Mention any sign-in or site rules at work premises

Looking after it afterwards
No joint lasts for ever, but care makes a real difference. Our tips:
- Let new sealant cure fully before it gets wet
- Do not leave water standing on kitchen joints
- Keep an eye on the corners, where splits start
- Keep the fan on for a while after bathing
Treat the new bead gently when you clean: a mild bathroom cleaner and a soft cloth is enough. Scourers and blades can nick the surface, and a nicked bead lets mould in sooner.
Small signs come before a leak: lifting ends, gaps, dark shadows under the bead or a stain downstairs. Any of these means the joint needs attention.
Why it’s worth doing now in Ditchling
A quick bead over the top of the old one might look better for a while, but it won’t bond. Water creeps under it and mould follows, and the next reseal means two layers to cut out. Around Ditchling, older homes often have timber in their floors and frames, and water through a failed joint can rot timber if it’s left.
Instead of a standard rate, we look at what your job involves: how many joints, what’s in them now and how we reach them. The price is agreed before we begin.

Ditchling: your questions answered
Do you cover smaller places like Ditchling?
Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. We work across London and the South East. Just mention lanes, gates or anything else about the route when you book.
Do you work in hotels near Ditchling?
Yes. Hotel and guest-house work is part of what we do. Jobs can be programmed room by room, with out-of-hours working possible to arrange.
Are you insured?
Yes. Full insurance covers our work.
Will the old sealant be removed?
Yes. All of the old material is cut out and the joint cleaned before applying anything new.
When can I use the bath or shower again?
Silicone is touch-dry quite quickly, but it takes longer to cure. Keep water off it for around 24 hours, or as long as we advise for that product.
What information do you need?
Where the job is, what the problem is and roughly how big it is. Photos by email help too.
Can you just seal over the old silicone?
No. Fresh silicone can’t stick to the old bead, so it peels away and hides mould and water. We always take the old sealant out completely.
Does the resealing come with a guarantee?
Yes. We give a 12-month guarantee on every job, and we are fully insured.

DIY versus a professional finish
Too much sealant is as bad as too little. A thick, smeared bead looks untidy and doesn’t move well, and the joint depth matters as much as the finish.
The biggest DIY mistake is sealing over old sealant. Silicone does not stick to old silicone, so it peels away and traps moisture behind it. Everything old must be removed first.
