Bathroom Resealing in Bray Wick
Professional bathroom resealing in and around Bray Wick, with every bit of old sealant taken out first and a 12-month guarantee.

- Water escaping at the shower enclosure
Bathroom resealing in Bray Wick, done properly
Across Bray Wick, the joints we reseal are the ones that fail in any home: the long edge of the bath, the base of the shower tray, the back of the basin and the line along the worktop. Every joint is cut out, cleaned and left dry before it’s resealed. We are often asked to deal with gaps between the worktop and the wall and black spots spreading through the bead, across shower trays & enclosures, basins & vanity units and sinks & splashbacks.
For a small place like Bray Wick, bathroom resealing is planned like any other job: it just means planning the journey and access beforehand. Once we’re there, the bathroom or kitchen gets the same care as anywhere else.
Whatever the size of the job, you get the same 12-month guarantee.

Bray Wick: your questions answered
Do you work for hotels and guest houses in Bray Wick?
Yes, hospitality work, including hotels, is part of what we do. Work can be planned room by room, and out-of-hours working can be arranged.
Will you come out to Bray Wick?
Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. Our work covers London and the South East. Just mention lanes, gates or anything else about the route when you book.
Can tenants book the work?
We are happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Just make sure your landlord agrees.
What sealant do you use?
Quality sealants from brands including Arbo and Everbuild, chosen to suit the joint. We explain the product when we quote.
How long before the new sealant can get wet?
Around 24 hours is typical, and we confirm the time for the product used. Using it sooner can damage the bead.
My sealant has gone black. Can you sort it?
Yes, by replacing the sealant. Sprays can fade the marks, but cutting it out and resealing is what lasts. Good ventilation helps keep it away.
Do you have insurance?
Yes. We’re fully insured.
Should I try DIY first?
Sometimes. Preparation is everything: all the old sealant out, and a clean, dry joint. If it does not work out, we can redo it.
Why it’s worth doing now in Bray Wick
Sorting it now is quick: the work takes a morning or an afternoon for most single baths and showers. Wait for a leak and you may be looking at panels off, drying out and redecorating too. Around Bray Wick, older homes often have timber in their floors and frames, where water from a failed joint can cause rot if it’s left.
No two jobs are quite the same, so we quote each one individually. The number of joints, how easy they are to reach and the sealant needed all make a difference, and we’ll explain the quote if you ask.

What we can’t put right
To be straight with you, some problems need a different trade:
- A tray or bath that is cracked through
- Tiles that have come away from the wall
- Water coming from the plumbing rather than the joint
Not sure which it is? You can ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and we will tell you honestly before booking.

How to look after the new joints
Once the sealant has cured, a few habits help it last:
- Do not let bottles sit on the bead
- Open a window or run the fan so the room dries
- Avoid abrasive pads on the sealant
- Look for lifting corners and small gaps now and then
Give the silicone time to cure before it gets wet, which is generally around 24 hours. Once it’s cured, wiping it down after use keeps it looking new.
Watch for the early signs: a corner lifting, a gap behind the bead, a dark line under the silicone or a damp patch on the ceiling below. If you spot one, it’s time to reseal.
The process
There’s no need to move everything out, only the area right around the joints. We protect the rest, and the job takes half a day or less for one room, longer when the kitchen is included in most cases. In a small place like Bray Wick, access is normally the main thing to plan. If the job is outside, mention outbuildings, exposed walls and how to reach them.
- We start by protecting the area and stripping out the old bead.
- We clean and degrease the joint and treat any mould.
- The joint is left to dry, and baths are filled with water first.
- New anti-fungal silicone goes on in a colour to suit and is tooled to a clean finish.
- Finally we tidy up and explain the cure time before we leave.
Getting ready for the visit
- For business premises, tell us about site rules or sign-in
- Mention any parking rules near the property
- Clear the area around the work

Related advice
What affects the cost of bathroom resealing
The price is agreed before any work begins. It takes into account:
- Any working-time requirements on site
- How much there is to do
- The old material and how stubborn it is
- Mould in or behind the old joints
What it costs depends on the size of the job, how much old material has to come out and access to the work. You’ll have a clear quote before any work starts, so you know where you stand.
What to tell us for a quote
There’s no need for technical detail. It helps if you can tell us:
- The problem you’ve noticed
- Whether it has been sealed before
- Pictures of the joints, sent by email
- How we’d reach the joints
The more we know about the job, the more useful the quote. Let us know the location, the problem and roughly how many joints.

Surface by surface
Shower trays & enclosures
Shower trays are sealed to the wall, and enclosures are sealed to the tray and tiles. Both get soaked every time the shower runs, so both are resealed with anti-fungal sanitary silicone.
Basins & vanity units
Basin joints are short and close to eye level: so we keep the line tidy and even, finished in a colour that suits the basin.
What we are called out for in Bray Wick
Silicone needs a clean, dry surface without any grease to stick to. Soap residue, oils and leftover silicone film all get in the way, so a rushed job can start to lift early.
Look out for any of the following:
- New sealant laid over old sealant that is now lifting
- A joint torn by a bath that flexes
- Mouldy sealant that has gone black
- Cracked, shrunken or lifting silicone
Managing a site like Holyport CofE Primary School? Then we reseal washrooms and kitchens in schools and businesses as well as homes.
Questions to ask before you book
- Whether they seal over old material or remove it
- What product goes in the joint
- Which colour the sealant will be
- What happens if they find a problem under the old sealant
Bathroom resealing around Bray Wick
Most of the South East has hard water, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings. There are hotels and other places to stay in and around Bray Wick. Hotel bathrooms are part of our work as well as homes, and can be done room by room.
In the older streets around St Michael's Church, walls and floors in older homes can move, and sealant and grout show it first. If you let a flat or house near Maidenhead station, mouldy sealant is one of the first things a new tenant notices, so it’s worth renewing between lets.
