How we handle bathroom resealing in Baughurst
With over 20 years in the trade, we reseal baths, showers and kitchens in homes across Baughurst. We’re fully insured ARBOMaster approved applicators, and the work comes with a 12-month guarantee. We are often asked to deal with a bead that has pulled away from the tiles and gaps where the bath or tray has moved, across shower trays & enclosures, kitchen worktops & upstands and baths.
Being in a small place like Baughurst makes no difference to the job itself: the journey and access are simply agreed in advance. Once we’re there, the bathroom or kitchen gets the same care as anywhere else.
We guarantee the work for a year. If there’s a problem with our work within the year, let us know and we will sort it.

How we quote for bathroom resealing
Every job gets its own quote. These are the things that affect it:
- Working hours on commercial sites
- How many rooms, windows or areas are involved
- Access and height
- The type of sealant required
A few things move the cost up or down: the old material and how easily it comes out, whether mould needs treating, and whether we need extra access for height. We take all of that into account in your quote.
What we need to know
The more you tell us, the more accurate the quote. When you get in contact, it helps to mention:
- Whether it’s a home or a business
- Photos by email, if that is easy
- Where the job is, and your postcode
- If someone has resealed it before
It all starts with a short chat. Describe the problem, the location and the size of the job. When it suits you, ring 0345 464 0079 or email us.
Should I try it myself first?
Not every job suits DIY: high-level joints, fire-rated gaps, external movement joints and big jobs call for the right materials, safe access and experience.
Overfilling a joint is a classic DIY mistake. A thick, smeared bead looks untidy and doesn’t move well, and the joint depth matters as much as the finish.
When something else is needed
We’d rather tell you now than do work that will not last, so here’s what sealant can’t put right:
- A bath or tray that moves because it is not properly supported
- A tray or bath that’s cracked through
- A leaking waste, trap or valve
If in doubt, call 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and we will say what we think.

What the job involves on each surface
Shower trays & enclosures
The vertical joint where a screen profile meets the wall is a common leak point. We reseal it along with the base of the enclosure, sealing the side the enclosure’s instructions call for.
Sinks & splashbacks
Where a splashback meets the worktop, there’s a joint that catches every splash. We renew it in clear, white or a matched colour.
Landlords, agents and businesses in Baughurst
Whether it’s one flat or a portfolio, you get the same standard of work: the old material taken out, careful preparation and a 12-month guarantee.
A neglected joint can let water reach the structure, which is a bigger problem in a rented property. Resealing at the right time is simple maintenance.
Baughurst: your questions answered
Do you cover smaller places like Baughurst?
Yes, Baughurst is covered. We work across London and the South East, from towns to the smallest places. Longer journeys are simply planned in advance.
Can you help a landlord with a rental near Midgham station?
Yes. We work for landlords and agents as well as householders. Just call 0345 464 0079 or email us with the address and what needs doing, and we’ll give you a clear price.
Will it make a mess?
No. We work neatly, protect the area around the joints and tidy up afterwards.
Does someone need to be in?
If the work is inside, we need someone to let us in. Once we’ve agreed the job, you don’t need to watch us work.
Where is Mr Mastic based?
Our base is in Crawley, and we cover South East England, London and all of Scotland.
Does the resealing come with a guarantee?
Yes, a one-year guarantee. Looking after the joint as we suggest helps it last.
Which products do you use?
Each joint gets the product that suits it. Where it moves, gets wet or faces the weather makes a difference, and we will tell you what we are using.
Do you reseal kitchen worktops and sinks too?
Yes. Where it’s needed by the sink, we use a food-safe sealant.
What we do, step by step
Once we are on site, we check the joints match what you told us. If we find something unexpected, we talk it through with you first. Most jobs then take a couple of hours for a single bath or shower. Somewhere as small as Baughurst, access is often the only tricky part. For outside work, also let us know about exposed walls and any outbuildings involved.
- We start by protecting the area and stripping out the old bead, including the film left on the tiles.
- Next, the joint is cleaned and any mould is treated.
- The joint is left to dry, and baths are filled with water first.
- We apply anti-fungal sanitary silicone in one even bead and tool it neatly.
- We tidy up and give you the cure time, normally around 24 hours.
Getting ready for the visit
- Let us know about earlier repairs to the joints
- Let us know if you’ve seen damp or leaks
- Clear items away from the joints we’re working on

Advice
Keeping the joints in good condition
A little care helps the new joints last. Our advice:
- Keep scourers and sharp tools away from the bead
- Use gentle cleaners on the silicone
- Do not leave water standing on kitchen joints
- Give the silicone its full cure time
Clean the silicone with care: warm soapy water and a soft cloth do the job. Avoid scouring pads and anything sharp, and a nicked bead lets mould in sooner.
Watch for the early signs: lifting ends, gaps, dark shadows under the bead or a stain downstairs. Any of these means the joint needs attention.
What bathroom resealing looks like in Baughurst
Most of the South East has hard water, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.
If you look after a building such as The Hurst School, its toilets, changing areas and kitchens need their sealant renewed like any other building’s. For landlords with property near Midgham station, fresh sealant around the bath, shower and sink between tenancies helps a property present well and keeps leaks at bay. Homes close to Saint Mary's Church include some older properties, and walls and floors in older homes can move, and sealant and grout show it first.
