Need regrouting in Upper Chute?

Regrouting in Upper Chute, done properly

If you’ve been scrubbing grout that won’t come clean, the discolouration has usually soaked into the grout. New grout is the fix that lasts and you can pick a different colour while you are at it. If you have grout that’s cracking and breaking up and floor grout that won’t come clean, we can put it right.

Homes around Upper Chute are mostly houses and cottages rather than flats, some with bathrooms tucked into older rooms or extensions. Sealant and grout wear out here just as they do anywhere: old material cut out, joints cleaned and a fresh finish laid.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything is not right with it, phone 0345 464 0079 or send us an email.

For landlords and businesses

Businesses can book us for washrooms, kitchens, offices and more. On commercial sites, working times can be discussed when we quote.

Hotels need rooms back in use, so the work can be planned room by room around your bookings where we can. We’ve worked in hotels as well as homes and businesses.

What regrouting looks like in Upper Chute

Most of the South East has hard water, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.

If you live in an older home near Church of St Nicholas, bathrooms in older houses have often been refitted more than once, with sealant laid over sealant.

What affects the quote in Upper Chute

Call for a quick quote. What matters most is:

  • Whether old sealant or filler has to be cut out
  • How many rooms, windows or areas are involved
  • Working hours on commercial sites
  • Access and height

The cost reflects the work involved, not a rough estimate. That is why we ask a few questions first.

Helping us quote

Signs you need regrouting in Upper Chute

Poor ventilation keeps grout damp, giving mould a place to grow. Black marks that come back after cleaning are often in the grout itself.

Look out for these signs:

  • Grout in corners that has cracked
  • Dirty, worn grout on a tiled floor
  • Kitchen splashback grout stained by grease
  • Good tiles let down by tired grout

Around Upper Chute, as everywhere, regrouting is only as good as the preparation behind it.

What your quote should include

  • What happens if they find a problem under the old sealant
  • What preparation is included
  • How long the guarantee is
  • Whether you can choose the colour

10 questions to ask before booking

Different surfaces, different methods

Corners and edges

The joint between tiles and a bath, tray or worktop gets silicone. Grout in that joint wouldn’t last.

Wet rooms

Regrouting a wet room helps keep water on the surface of the tiles. It doesn’t repair failed tanking underneath.

How it works

Good joint work is mostly preparation, so that is where we spend the time. Joints are cleaned back and dried before anything new goes in. All told, the work takes anything from a few hours to a full day, depending on the area. Somewhere like Upper Chute needs a little journey planning: tell us about narrow lanes, gates, long drives and where we can park. We bring what the job needs, so it can be finished in one trip where possible.

  1. First we agree what’s being done and flag any loose tiles.
  2. Grout is raked out without chipping the tiles.
  3. Dust is cleared from every joint.
  4. We grout the joints and wipe the tiles clean.
  5. We renew the silicone at the corners and edges.

Before we arrive

  • Mention any sign-in or site rules at work premises
  • Mention any leaks or damp you’ve noticed
  • Plan for the work area to be out of bounds to pets and children

Aftercare tips

So the new joints stay in good condition:

  • Keep harsh bleach and acid cleaners off the grout
  • Keep the fan on after showering
  • Don’t ignore a tile that feels loose
  • Clean grout with a mild bathroom cleaner

Wipe the tiles down after a shower keeps water off the grout. Run the extractor fan or open a window so the grout dries between uses.

Tiles can come away if failed grout is left. Once that happens, regrouting won’t fix it, so it’s worth acting early.

What we can’t put right

Sealant isn’t the answer to every problem, and we’ll tell you before work begins. Sealant won’t put right:

  • A leaking wet room membrane
  • Loose tiles, which need refixing first
  • Cracked or broken tiles

If you are not sure, just call 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

FAQs for Upper Chute

Is regrouting in Upper Chute guaranteed?

Every job comes with our one-year guarantee, wherever it is. We’re fully insured, and an ARBOMaster approved applicator.

Is Upper Chute within the area you cover?

Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. We work across London and the South East. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.

Should corners be grouted or sealed?

Internal corners and edges are sealed with flexible silicone. Grout in those joints cracks as the building moves.

Will regrouting fix loose tiles?

Loose or hollow tiles are a sign of a problem behind them. Grout on its own won’t fix that and we will say so before going ahead.

Are you insured?

Yes, we’re fully insured for domestic and commercial work.

When can I use the shower again?

Before we leave, we will tell you how long to wait. The grout and sealant both need to cure before the shower is used.

Is it possible to regrout only the shower area?

Yes, that’s common. The shower normally fails first, so it’s often the only area that needs doing.

Do you do commercial work?

Yes. We have worked for hotels, offices and other businesses.
