Why it’s worth doing now in Tendring

With regrouting, your tiles stay where they are. Retiling means stripping the walls, making good and choosing new tiles, and the room is out of use for longer. When the tiles are fine, it’s the sensible first step. Where a wall is exposed, as many are in small places like Tendring, wind-driven rain gets into any failed joint, and older walls, once damp, take a long time to dry.

The cost reflects the work involved, not guesswork. That is why we ask a few questions first.

How we handle regrouting in Tendring

A grout colour change can freshen a room without retiling. You might go from white to grey, or the other way round. Just mention the colour you’d like when you phone 0345 464 0079 or send us an email. Typical jobs include grout that’s cracking and breaking up and good tiles let down by tired grout, on bathroom floors, kitchen splashbacks and tiled floors.

For a small place like Tendring, regrouting is planned like any other job: it just means planning the journey and access beforehand. Once we’re there, the bathroom or kitchen gets the same care as anywhere else.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything isn’t right with it, ring 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email.

Tendring: your questions answered

Is Tendring within the area you cover?

Yes, we do. We work across London and the South East, from towns to the smallest places. The journey is planned ahead, so it helps to know about access.

Can you help a landlord with a rental near Weeley station?

Yes, rental work is part of what we do. Just phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and tell us about the property, and we’ll give you a clear price.

Do you regrout part of a bathroom, like the shower?

Yes. A lot of our jobs are only the shower, or the area where the grout has gone.

Will you leave a mess?

Not at all. We work neatly, protect the area around the joints and tidy up afterwards.

Should I try DIY first?

For a simple, easy-to-reach joint, a careful DIYer can do a reasonable job. The usual mistakes are sealing over old sealant, sealing a damp joint and using too much.

How soon can the shower be used after regrouting?

Before we leave, we’ll tell you how long to wait. The grout and sealant both need to cure before the shower is used.

What do you need from me for a quote?

Where the job is, what the problem is and roughly how big it is. Photos by email help too.

Can you work on commercial sites?

Yes, regularly. We can plan bigger jobs in stages to suit the site.

The process

Our applicators work methodically: protection first, then preparation, sealing and a tidy-up. For most jobs that takes a few hours, or longer for a fully tiled room. Somewhere as small as Tendring, access is often the only tricky part. If the job is outside, mention outbuildings, exposed walls and how to reach them.

  1. First we agree what’s being done and flag any loose tiles.
  2. Grout is raked out without chipping the tiles.
  3. The joints are cleaned out and vacuumed.
  4. We grout the joints and wipe the tiles clean.
  5. We renew the silicone at the corners and edges.

Before we arrive

  • For indoor joints, keep the area dry beforehand if you can
  • Let us know about stairs, lifts or work at height
  • Mention any parking rules near the property

Work for landlords, hotels and businesses

Businesses can book us for washrooms, kitchens, offices and more. For commercial premises, we can talk through working times when we quote.

We also work for property managers and facilities teams in Tendring and across Essex. Several sites can go on one quote, and we are fully insured for the work.

What affects the quote in Tendring

We quote each job individually. This is what makes a difference:

  • The type of sealant required
  • The number of rooms or windows
  • The old material and how stubborn it is
  • The size of the job

We do not show prices on the website, because the cost depends so much on the job itself. For a quick quote, please ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email.

What to tell us for a quote

To help us quote quickly, let us know:

  • The problem you’ve noticed
  • Where the job is, and your postcode
  • Pictures of the joints, sent by email
  • The type of property

We do not publish a price list. Instead, your job gets its own clear quote. To arrange one, call 0345 464 0079 or email us.

Keeping the joints in good condition

Good habits help new joints last longer. A few tips:

  • Check the corner silicone every few months
  • Do not use strong acidic cleaners on grout
  • Use gentle cleaners on grout
  • Run the extractor fan during and after a shower

Give the new grout the time we tell you before using the shower, so it can harden properly. After that, rinse the tiles after showering and let the room air.

Cracked grout doesn’t stay cracked for long. Water gets behind the tiles, and they can begin to come away and early regrouting can avoid a much bigger job.

Bathrooms and kitchens in Tendring

Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.

In the older streets around Church of St Edmund, timber floors under older bathrooms flex, so joints need a sealant that moves with them. Letting a property close to Weeley station? Then clean grout and fresh sealant between tenancies make a bathroom look cared for again. If you look after a building such as Tendring Primary School, washroom and kitchen sealant there needs the same care as at home, and schools and businesses are part of our work as well as homes.

What sealant work cannot fix

We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what new sealant will not do:

  • A floor or wall that keeps moving
  • A leaking wet room membrane
  • Tiles that have come away from the wall

If you are not sure, just phone 0345 464 0079 or email us and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

Joints and surfaces we work on

  • Shower walls
  • Kitchen splashbacks
  • Tiled floors
  • Wet rooms
  • Bathroom wall tiles
  • Bathroom floors

Should I try it myself first?

What a professional job adds is preparation and the right product. We take joints back to clean, dry surfaces, and the sealant is chosen for how the joint moves and where it is, then guaranteed for a year.

Too much sealant is as bad as too little. A thick, smeared bead looks untidy and does not move well, and getting the depth right matters as much as the look.
