Regrouting in St George's Hill

Regrouting in St George's Hill, done properly

We take the old grout out to a consistent depth, taking care not to chip the tile edges. After vacuuming, new grout goes in and the tiles are wiped clean, with silicone renewed in the corners. We work on kitchen splashbacks, bathroom floors and shower walls, and common reasons people get in touch are a grout colour that no longer suits the room and splashback grout that has darkened.

In and around St George's Hill, older properties sit alongside newer ones. In older homes, walls and floors can move a little more, so the right flexible sealant matters.

We guarantee the work for a year. If something isn’t right with it in that time, tell us and we will put it right.

What regrouting looks like in St George's Hill

Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in. St George's Hill has hotels and guest accommodation nearby. As well as homes, we work in hotel bathrooms, where resealing and regrouting can be done room by room.

Schools such as Manby Lodge Infant School are buildings too, and we reseal washrooms and kitchens in schools and businesses as well as homes. Homes close to United Reform Church include some older properties, and walls and floors in older homes can move, and sealant and grout show it first. Letting a property close to Weybridge station? Then clean grout and fresh sealant between tenancies make a bathroom look cared for again.

St George's Hill is about 1 mile south of Weybridge, in Surrey. From the centre of St George's Hill to the outskirts, we cover regrouting for every kind of property. Across Surrey, we cover 395 places, St George's Hill among them. We also work in London, around 18 miles away.

Jobs for regrouting in KT13, KT11 and KT12 works the same way as everywhere else we cover. Streets in the area include Cavendish Road, Holme Chase and Winterbourne Grove, all of which we cover. Why act early in St George's Hill

Patching a few joints can look like a quick win, but the patches often don’t match, and the old grout keeps failing around them. Regrouting the whole area gives an even, lasting finish. Around St George's Hill, water from a failed joint in an older home can soak into timber and plaster, which is far harder to put right than the sealant itself.

What it costs depends on the amount of work, how hard the old material is to remove and how easy the joints are to reach. You’ll have a clear quote before any work starts.

How we quote for regrouting

Call for a quick quote. What matters most is:

  • How many areas need sealing
  • Which sealant suits the joint
  • Working hours on commercial sites
  • The size of the job

A failed joint rarely gets cheaper to fix by waiting, as water and mould keep getting in. If you are not sure whether it needs doing, ring 0345 464 0079 or email us and we’ll give you an honest view and a quote.

What to tell us for a quote

Photos help, but a description is a good start. Try to tell us:

  • The problem you’ve noticed
  • Where the job is, and your postcode
  • If it’s domestic, commercial or a hotel
  • The rough size of the job

Want a quote for regrouting? Please ring 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email with a few details. You will know what we plan to do, and what it will cost, before any work begins.

Keeping the joints in good condition

Once the sealant has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Run the extractor fan during and after a shower
  • Rinse the tiles after showering
  • Clean with a soft brush, not anything metal
  • Wipe or squeegee the shower walls

Have any tile that moves checked straight away. A loose tile cracks the grout around it and lets water in.

Grout that’s washing out of a shower shouldn’t be left. Each shower drives water into the open joints, and that water can reach the wall or the floor below.

How the visit works

On the day, we start by going over the job with you, so you know exactly what we’re doing. Surfaces next to the work are protected before work begins. The work usually takes a few hours, or longer for a fully tiled room. In a smaller place like St George's Hill, parking is seldom the issue; lanes, gates and long drives are worth mentioning. If the job is outside, tell us about side access and how high the joints are.

  1. Every tile area is checked for hollow or loose tiles first.
  2. We rake out the grout evenly, protecting the tile edges.
  3. The joints are vacuumed clean.
  4. New grout is pressed into the joints and the tiles are cleaned.
  5. Silicone goes into the corners and along the edges.

Advice

Your questions about regrouting in St George's Hill

Is St George's Hill within the area you cover?

Yes. St George's Hill is within the area we cover, which takes in towns, villages and rural addresses. We work across London and the South East. Just mention lanes, gates or anything else about the route when you book.

Can you help a landlord with a rental near Weybridge station?

Yes, we work for letting agents and landlords. Just ring 0345 464 0079 or email us and tell us about the property, and we will give you a clear quote.

Is there any odour?

That depends on the sealant. Some products have a noticeable smell, others very little.

What guarantee comes with the work?

Every job comes with our one-year guarantee, and we are fully insured.

How long does regrouting take?

Typically it takes anything from a few hours to a full day, depending on the area. Larger jobs naturally take longer, and we’ll tell you how long to expect.

Will you leave a mess?

No. We work neatly, protect the area around the joints and tidy up afterwards.

Are you fully insured?

Yes, we are fully insured for domestic and commercial work.

Do you do commercial work?

Yes. We work in offices, washrooms, hotels and other commercial premises, as well as homes. We can talk about working times when we quote.

Should I try it myself first?

If you’ve already had a go yourself, that is fine. We remove it and do the joint properly, so tell us about it when you ask for a quote.

Overfilling a joint is a classic DIY mistake. A heavy bead looks messy and copes badly with movement, and the joint depth matters as much as the finish.
