Bathroom resealing in KT13: how it works
Sealant that is mouldy, cracked or peeling is worth sorting before it lets water through. Just call 0345 464 0079 or email us with a photo of the joints, and we will give you a clear quote for bathroom resealing in KT13. We’re often asked to deal with leaking joints on a shower screen and mouldy sealant that has gone black, across shower trays & enclosures, kitchen worktops & upstands and basins & vanity units.
When we get to you, we compare the joints with what we discussed. If we find something unexpected, we talk it through with you first. After that, the work takes half a day or less for one room, longer when the kitchen is included.
- We cover the area around the joints we are working on.
- We cut away the old sealant and clean off what’s left.
- We treat any mould and let the joint dry properly.
- Baths are filled first, then anti-fungal sanitary silicone is applied in a colour to suit.
- The joint is finished neatly and we explain when it can get wet.
What you will pay
Doing several joints on one visit is normally more efficient than separate visits, so tell us about everything that needs sealing. You will get one clear quote for the whole job.

Bathroom resealing across KT13: local notes
Across KT13, from Walton-on-Thames, Weybridge and St George's Hill outwards, we see bathrooms and kitchens of every age. Sealant and grout wear out in all of them, whether it’s a family bathroom, a rented flat or a hotel en suite.
From Victorian terraces to post-war new towns and modern estates, homes across the South East and London cover every era. Each needs the right sealant for its age and materials.
Weybridge: For site and facilities teams at buildings such as St James CofE Primary School, its toilets, changing areas and kitchens need their sealant renewed like any other building’s. Rented homes near Weybridge station change hands often, and a reseal between tenants is a quick way to make the bathroom and kitchen look cared for.
What sealant work cannot fix
To be straight with you, some problems need a different trade:
- Cracked or missing grout between tiles (that’s regrouting)
- A bath or tray that moves because it is not properly supported
- Cracks in the tray itself rather than the joint
Looking after it afterwards
So the new joints stay in good condition:
- Squeegee the walls and tray after use
- Let new sealant cure fully before it gets wet
- Wipe up water along the back of the worktop
- Look for lifting corners and small gaps now and then
In a kitchen, don’t let water sit along the back of the worktop and keep hot pans away from the silicone. The drier the joint stays, the longer it lasts.
Mould that starts as a few spots spreads through the bead. When it has grown right through, it rarely cleans out. Catching it early keeps it a simple reseal.
DIY sealant or a professional job?
Some jobs are best left to a professional: work at height, external movement joints, fire-rated sealant and large areas need the right product, the right access and the right method.
A careful DIYer can reseal a simple joint, such as a straightforward joint indoors. The common mistakes are sealing over old sealant, sealing a damp joint and using far too much.
Why it fails
Baths and trays move. Acrylic in particular gives slightly under the weight of water and a person, and a tray that is not fully bedded can rock. That movement works at the bead until it splits or peels away.
Look out for these signs:
- A joint torn by a bath that flexes
- Smears of silicone across the tiles
- Water getting behind the bath panel
- Gaps between the worktop and the wall
What affects the cost of bathroom resealing
Your quote is based on your job. We take into account:
- The old material and how stubborn it is
- Mould in or behind the old joints
- How many areas need sealing
- Access and height
Rather than a set price list, we price the job in front of us: how many joints, what’s in them now and how we reach them. You will know the price before we begin.
What we need to know
To make quoting easier, let us know:
- What the problem is, such as mould, gaps, leaks or cracking
- Where the property is
- Whether it’s a home or a business
- How we’d reach the joints
We quote each job on its own. Simply ring 0345 464 0079 or email us and describe the job and send photos if you have them.
Common questions in KT13
Do you hold any approvals?
Yes. We are approved under the ARBOMaster scheme.
Can I add another job to the visit?
Yes. Just list everything you need and you will get one quote.
What do you need from me for a quote?
Just the basics: the address or postcode, what’s wrong and any access issues. Then phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email.
Can you just seal over the old silicone?
No. New silicone will not bond to old silicone, so it lifts and traps water and mould underneath. All the old sealant comes out first.
How long does the new silicone need before I use the shower?
We give you the cure time before we leave, and it’s usually around 24 hours. Getting it wet too early can spoil the new joint.
How long does a bath or shower reseal take?
It depends on how many joints there are and how much old sealant has to come out. For most single baths or showers, allow a couple of hours.
Should I try DIY first?
Sometimes. Preparation is everything: all the old sealant out, and a clean, dry joint. We can always put it right if it fails.
