Shootash Regrouting
Regrouting across Shootash and nearby, with every bit of old sealant taken out first.
- Dirty, worn grout on a tiled floor
- Corners filled with grout instead of silicone
- Grout stained black or orange that won’t clean
What happens on the day
When we get to you, we check the joints match what you told us. If anything is different, we explain it before carrying on. Most jobs then take a few hours, or longer for a fully tiled room. Somewhere like Shootash needs a little journey planning: tell us about narrow lanes, gates, long drives and where we can park. We bring what the job needs, so it can be finished in one trip where possible.
- We start by checking the tiles for any that are loose or hollow.
- The old grout comes out to a consistent depth, without damaging the tiles.
- Dust and debris are vacuumed out of every joint.
- Fresh grout goes into the joints and the tile faces are wiped clean.
- Corners and edges are resealed with flexible silicone, not grout.
Getting ready for the visit
- Mention any sign-in or site rules at work premises
- Let us know if you’ve seen damp or leaks
- Tell us if parking is tricky

Regrouting for homes and businesses in Shootash
Regrouting is usually paired with resealing. Grout is for the joints between tiles, but internal corners and edges flex, so they’re sealed with silicone rather than grout. Doing both at once leaves the whole area sound. We work on shower walls, bathroom floors and kitchen splashbacks, and people most often call us about grout in corners that has cracked and old grout in a dated colour.
Somewhere as small as Shootash, homes tend to be cottages, farmhouses or converted buildings, with some newer houses too. Older walls and timber floors can move a little, and cracked grout and split sealant are often the first signs.
The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there’s a problem with our work within the year, let us know and we will sort it.

Can I do it myself?
Too much sealant is as bad as too little. A heavy bead looks messy and copes badly with movement, and getting the depth right matters as much as the look.
If you’re set on DIY, put the effort into preparation: take out all the old sealant, make sure the joint is clean and dry, and give it the full cure time. If it fails, we can still redo it.

What the job involves on each surface
Bathroom wall tiles
We can regroute all the walls in a bathroom, depending on the area. You can change the colour at the same time.
Wet rooms
New grout in a wet room keeps the surface sound. It doesn’t repair failed tanking underneath.
What affects the cost of regrouting
The price is agreed before any work begins. It takes into account:
- Working hours on commercial sites
- How easy the joints are to reach
- Whether old sealant or filler has to be cut out
- How many areas need sealing
Leaving a failed joint normally makes the job bigger, not smaller, as water and mould keep getting in. If you’re not sure whether it needs doing, call 0345 464 0079 or send us an email for an honest opinion and a quote.
Helping us quote
To make quoting easier, please include:
- Whether it has been sealed before
- Access, such as stairs, a lift or height
- A few pictures by email, if you can
- Where the job is, and your postcode
We don’t publish a price list. Instead, we give you a clear quote for your job. To get started, phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email.
How to look after the new joints
Good habits help new joints last longer. A few tips:
- Keep harsh bleach and acid cleaners off the grout
- Have loose tiles looked at early
- Use a squeegee on the tiles after showering
- Give the walls a quick rinse after use
Keep an eye on the silicone in the corners. Corners flex, so the sealant there will need renewing in time.
Stains that will not clean are a sign the grout is breaking down. Regrouting at this stage is straightforward, before the joints open up.

What regrouting looks like in Shootash
Most of the South East has hard water, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.
For an older house near a landmark such as Church of All Saints, bathrooms in older houses have often been refitted more than once, with sealant laid over sealant. For landlords with property near Romsey station, a regrout while the flat is empty is quicker than working around a tenant.
Shootash is about 3 miles west of Romsey, in Hampshire. Wherever you are in the SO51 postcode area, our applicators can take on regrouting. We cover 683 towns and villages across Hampshire, large and small. There’s also a page for Southampton, roughly 9 miles from Shootash.

Failed sealant is one of the commonest items on a check-out report. Several properties can go on one quote.
We also work for property managers and facilities teams in Shootash and across Hampshire. We can quote a run of properties together.
Leave it or put it right?
Colouring the surface of old grout is a quick cosmetic fix. They won’t fill gaps or keep water out, and stains can show through again. A proper regrout puts new grout in the joint. In a small place like Shootash, homes can be exposed to wind and rain, which finds any gap, and damp in older walls is slow to dry out.
Rather than a set price list, we price the job in front of us: the amount of work, the old material and the access. The price is agreed before we begin.
