Sarre Regrouting

- Floor grout that won’t come clean
- Greasy, stained grout behind the hob
When it isn’t the sealant
A few problems are outside what sealant work can do:

About our regrouting in Sarre
If you’ve been scrubbing grout that won’t come clean, the discolouration has usually soaked into the grout. Replacing it is the lasting answer, and it’s a chance to change the colour too. We work on kitchen splashbacks, tiled floors and bathroom wall tiles, and the jobs we see most are greasy, stained grout behind the hob and discoloured grout on otherwise sound tiles.
For a small place like Sarre, regrouting is planned like any other job: the journey and access are simply agreed in advance. Once we’re there, the bathroom or kitchen gets the same care as anywhere else.
All our work comes with a one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Kent.

Sarre homes and their sealant
Sarre is within about 3 miles of the coast. Coastal homes, holiday lets and guest houses can see heavy bathroom use in busy months, and sealant and grout that work that hard wear out sooner. Most of the South East has hard water, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.
For landlords with property near Minster station, a regrout while the flat is empty is quicker than working around a tenant. For an older house near a landmark such as Church of Saint Nicholas, bathrooms in older houses have often been refitted more than once, with sealant laid over sealant.
Sarre is about 5 miles south-east of Herne Bay, in Kent. We provide regrouting to homeowners, landlords and businesses in Sarre, as part of our work across Kent. Our Kent coverage runs to 922 places, Sarre among them. For nearby work, see our Chelmsford page (42 miles or so).
Work in CT7 works the same way as everywhere else we cover. If you need regrouting at a property on Island Road, Old Road and Chantry Park or a nearby road, we can help. Neighbouring places we cover for regrouting include St Nicholas at Wade (1 mile north-east), West Stourmouth (1 mile south), East Stourmouth (2 miles south), Monkton (2 miles east) and Upstreet (2 miles south-west). We also work in nearby towns such as Canterbury (8 miles south-west), Margate (7 miles north-east), Dover (14 miles south), Ramsgate (7 miles east), Broadstairs (8 miles east) and Whitstable (9 miles west).
Local landmarks in Sarre

Why it’s worth doing now in Sarre
If tiles are loose, regrouting alone isn’t the answer. We point that out first so you know what’s involved. Where the tiles are sound, regrouting is far less disruptive than retiling. Where a wall is exposed, as many are in small places like Sarre, wind-driven rain gets into any failed joint, and damp in older walls is slow to dry out.
No two jobs are quite the same, so we quote each one individually. Size, access and the product the joint needs all play a part.

How to look after the new joints
A little care helps the new joints last. We recommend:
- Avoid neat bleach and strong acid descalers on grout
- Look at the sealant in the corners now and then
- Wipe water off the walls when you are done
- Clean grout with a mild bathroom cleaner
A squeegee or cloth over the tiles after use keeps water off the grout. Ventilate the room well to help it dry out.
Tiles can come away if failed grout is left. Once that happens, regrouting won’t fix it, so it’s worth acting early.
What affects the quote in Sarre
Some jobs are bigger than they look, and some smaller. What affects the quote:
- The number of rooms or windows
- Whether there’s mould to deal with
- The size of the job
- The old material and how stubborn it is
We do not show prices on the website, because the cost depends so much on the job itself. Call for a quick quote.
What to tell us for a quote
Photos by email are helpful but not essential. Try to tell us:
- The rough size of the job
- Access, such as stairs, a lift or height
- If someone has resealed it before
- What’s wrong with the joints now
If you’re in Sarre and need regrouting, ring 0345 464 0079 or email us. Tell us what the problem is and where, and you will get a clear quote before work begins.
Can I do it myself?
If you are set on DIY, put the effort into preparation: remove every trace of old sealant, clean and dry the joint, and follow the product’s cure time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still put it right.
Too much sealant is as bad as too little. A thick, smeared bead looks untidy and does not move well, and getting the depth right matters as much as the look.
Common questions in Sarre
Is Sarre within the area you cover?
Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. Our work covers London and the South East. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.
Can you help a landlord with a rental near Minster station?
Yes, we work for landlords and letting agents. Just phone 0345 464 0079 or email us and tell us about the property, and we’ll give you a clear quote.
What if some of my tiles are loose?
Loose tiles need refixing before regrouting. We’ll point them out at the start.
Is there any odour?
Possibly a little. It fades as the sealant cures.
Where do you work from?
We’re a Crawley-based firm. We work across South East England, London and Scotland.
When can I use the shower again?
Before we leave, we will tell you how long to wait. The grout and sealant both need to cure before the shower is used.
Do you remove the old sealant?
Yes. We cut out all the old sealant and clean the joint before resealing.
How much does regrouting cost in Sarre?
We do not publish prices, because the cost depends on the job: how much there is, what’s there now, how we reach it and what it needs. You’ll get a clear quote before any work starts.
When to call us in Sarre
Hard water and soap leave a film on grout that is hard to shift. The grout beneath can stain and weaken, which is when replacing it makes sense.
If you can see any of these, it’s time to have the joints looked at:
- Cracked or crumbling grout lines
- Gaps where the shower grout has gone
- Dirty, worn grout on a tiled floor
- Cracked grout along the bath or tray
Schools such as St Nicholas At Wade Church of England Primary School are buildings too, and its toilets, changing areas and kitchens need their sealant renewed like any other building’s.
Questions to ask before you book
- Whether all the old sealant comes out first
- What the quote includes, VAT included or not
- How the surfaces are prepared before sealing
- What the cure time is
How it works
The work is kept neat and contained to the joints we are treating. Expect the work to take a few hours, or longer for a fully tiled room, and we explain the cure time before we leave. Somewhere like Sarre needs a little journey planning: let us know about lanes, gates and parking. We bring what the job needs, so it can be finished in one trip where possible.
- We check the tiles for any that are hollow or loose.
- The old grout is removed to an even depth.
- We vacuum the joints so the new grout bonds.
- New grout is pressed into the joints and the tiles are cleaned.
- Silicone goes into the corners and along the edges.
How to prepare
- Mention if the joints have been sealed before
- On commercial sites, let us know about site rules
- Let us know about parking restrictions
