How the job changes by surface
Corners and edges
Corners flex as the building moves, so we seal them rather than grout them.
Kitchen splashbacks
The grout by the hob and sink takes most of the mess. We regroute and reseal the worktop joint.
Regrouting in Rowly
Across Rowly, we regrout tiled showers, bathrooms and kitchens. Out comes the old grout, the joints are cleaned and new grout goes in, and we finish by resealing the edges. We work on shower walls, kitchen splashbacks and bathroom floors, and common reasons people get in touch are greasy, stained grout behind the hob and floor grout that won’t come clean.
Somewhere as small as Rowly, homes tend to be cottages, farmhouses or converted buildings, with some newer houses too. Movement in older walls and floors tends to show first as cracked grout or split sealant.
The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything is not right with it, ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email.

When to call us in Rowly
When tiles or the wall behind them move, the grout cracks. That can be a loose tile, a flexing floor or a stud wall, which is why we check the tiles first.
The most common problems we see are:
- Corners filled with grout instead of silicone
- Dirty, worn grout on a tiled floor
- Grout in a colour the owner wants to change
- Grout that is cracking and breaking up
For site and facilities teams at buildings such as Glebelands School, we reseal washrooms and kitchens in schools and businesses as well as homes.
What to look for in a quote
- Is the old sealant removed completely?
- Which sealant they’ll use, and why
- How the colour is chosen
- How long the guarantee is
Bathrooms and kitchens in Rowly
Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.

Questions from Rowly
Can you do regrouting in Rowly?
Yes, Rowly is within the area we cover. We work across London and the South East. You can ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and let us know what needs doing, and we’ll send you a clear quote.
Can you help a landlord with a rental near Chilworth station?
Yes, landlords and agents are among the people we work for, and several properties can go on one quote. Just call 0345 464 0079 or send us an email with the address and what needs doing, and we’ll send you a clear quote.
Can I do it myself?
That depends on the joint. High-level, external movement and fire-rated joints are professional jobs, while a short indoor joint may be within reach.
What does regrouting cost?
Every job is different, so each one gets its own quote. To get one, phone 0345 464 0079 or email us with a short description of the job.
Can you work on commercial sites?
Yes. Larger jobs can be planned room by room or area by area.
Can you quote for more than one area?
Yes. Tell us about everything you’d like done and you’ll get one quote.
Do you remove the old sealant?
Yes, every time. New silicone does not stick to old silicone, so any old material comes out before anything new goes in.
Will the sealant be renewed as well as the grout?
Generally, yes. The corners and edges should be silicone and doing both at once leaves everything sound.
Should I try it myself first?
Sealing over old silicone is the commonest DIY error. New silicone won’t bond to old, so it lifts and traps water and mould underneath. Everything old must be removed first.
If you’re set on DIY, put the effort into preparation: take out all the old sealant, make sure the joint is clean and dry, and give it the full cure time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still put it right.
Looking after it afterwards
Joint life depends on how it’s used and looked after. Here’s what we suggest:
- Wipe or squeegee the shower walls
- Skip wire brushes and scourers
- Keep the fan on after showering
- Do not ignore a tile that feels loose
Give the new grout the time we tell you before using the shower, so it cures fully. After that, rinse the tiles after showering and keep the room ventilated.
Once grout cracks, it tends to get worse. Water gets behind the tiles, and they can begin to come away and early regrouting can avoid a much bigger job.
Why it’s worth doing now in Rowly
New grout smeared over the old doesn’t bond well. A thin skin on top tends to break off. Raking out to a consistent depth gives the new grout something to hold. Around Rowly, older homes often have timber in their floors and frames, where water from a failed joint can cause rot if it’s left.
Rather than a set price list, we price the job in front of us: the amount of work, the old material and the access. You’ll know the price before we begin.

How the visit works
All our tools and materials come with us in the van, so there’s nothing for you to buy. Once we have agreed what’s being done, the area is protected and the work begins. Most jobs take a few hours for a shower enclosure, longer for a whole room. In a small place like Rowly, access is generally the main thing to plan. If the job is outside, mention outbuildings, exposed walls and how to reach them.
- We check the tiles are sound and flag any that are loose or hollow.
- The old grout comes out to a consistent depth, without damaging the tiles.
- We vacuum the joints and clean out the dust.
- New grout is worked into the joints and cleaned off the tile faces.
- Corners and edges are resealed with flexible silicone, not grout.
