Book regrouting in Palestine

Regrouting for homes and businesses in Palestine

Stained, crumbling or cracked grout can make a sound bathroom look tired. With regrouting, the tiles stay and only the grout is renewed, so there’s no stripping out and no new tiles to choose. We’re often asked to deal with greasy, stained grout behind the hob and grout that’s cracking and breaking up, on bathroom floors, tiled floors and shower walls.

Being in a small place like Palestine makes no difference to the job itself: it just means planning the journey and access beforehand. Once we are there, the bathroom or kitchen gets the same care as anywhere else.

All of our work is guaranteed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you are.

Can I do it myself?

Sealing over old silicone is the commonest DIY error. Silicone doesn’t stick to old silicone, so it lifts and traps water and mould underneath. All the old material has to come out first.

The difference is mostly in the preparation and the product. We take joints back to clean, dry surfaces, and the sealant is matched to the joint and its conditions.

Why it’s worth doing now in Palestine

If tiles are loose, regrouting alone isn’t the answer. We point that out first so you know what’s involved. On sound tiles, regrouting avoids the upheaval of a retile. Around Palestine, older homes often have timber in their floors and frames, and water through a failed joint can rot timber if it’s left.

Rather than a set price list, we look at what your job involves: the amount of work, the old material and the access. You’ll know the price before we begin.

Why us?

  • Sanitary silicone with an anti-fungal additive in wet areas
  • Domestic, commercial and hotel work
  • Arbo and Everbuild products
  • Any old sealant cut out fully, not covered over

How to look after the new joints

Good habits help new joints last longer. A few tips:

  • Rinse soap off the tiles after each shower
  • Run the extractor fan during and after a shower
  • Do not use strong acidic cleaners on grout
  • Use gentle cleaners on grout

Wipe the tiles down after a shower stops soap and water sitting on the grout. Run the extractor fan or open a window so the grout dries between uses.

Once grout cracks, it tends to get worse. Water gets behind the tiles, and they can begin to come away and early regrouting can avoid a much bigger job.

Palestine: your questions answered

Can you do regrouting in Palestine?

Yes, Palestine is within the area we cover. We work across London and the South East. You can phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and let us know what needs doing.

Do you cover smaller places like Palestine?

Yes, Palestine is covered. Our work covers London and the South East, from towns to the smallest places. Longer journeys are simply planned in advance.

Is it worth trying it myself?

It depends on the job. Work at height, movement joints, fire-rated gaps and large areas are best left to a professional.

What do you put in the joint?

The product depends on the job: anti-fungal sanitary silicone in wet areas, and other sealants where joints move or face the weather. We use products from Arbo and Everbuild.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Several rooms, windows or areas can go on one quote.

Is the work guaranteed?

Our one-year guarantee applies to all our work. We’re also fully insured.

What information do you need?

The location, the problem and the rough size of the job. If you can, email a few pictures.

Can you change the grout colour?

Yes, regrouting is the time to do it. Mention the colour you have in mind when you phone 0345 464 0079 or email us.

When it isn’t the sealant

Some problems need a builder, plumber or other trade rather than us:

  • Movement in a stud wall or floor
  • Loose tiles, which need refixing first
  • Leaks from pipes, valves or wastes (a plumber’s job)

Not sure which it is? You can ring 0345 464 0079 or email us and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

What we seal

  • Bathroom wall tiles
  • Kitchen splashbacks
  • Bathroom floors
  • Tiled floors
  • Wet rooms
  • Shower walls

What regrouting looks like in Palestine

Most of the South East has hard water, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.

In the older streets around Church of St Leonard, older homes can move a little, which is hard on rigid grout and tired sealant. If you let a flat or house near Grateley station, clean grout and fresh sealant between tenancies make a bathroom look cared for again. If you look after a building such as Grateley Primary School, we reseal washrooms and kitchens in schools and businesses as well as homes.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Palestine

We work for landlords and letting agents as well as householders. Resealing between tenancies is a simple way to keep a property in good order before the next move-in.

Hotels need rooms back in use, so we plan the work room by room around your bookings where we can. We have worked in hotels as well as homes and businesses.

What affects the quote in Palestine

Your quote is based on your job. We take into account:

  • The old material and how stubborn it is
  • Access and height
  • When we can work, for business premises
  • The product the joint needs

Leaving a failed joint usually makes the job bigger, not smaller. If you are not sure whether it needs doing, ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and we’ll give you an honest view and a quote.

What we need to know

Photos help, but a description is a good start. Please mention:

  • What’s wrong with the joints now
  • If someone has resealed it before
  • Where the property is
  • Pictures of the joints, sent by email

To get a quote, call 0345 464 0079 or email us and tell us where the job is and what the problem looks like. You’ll have a clear quote before work begins.

The process

When we arrive, we look over the joints with you first, so there are no surprises. We protect the surfaces around the joints before any work begins. Most jobs take anything from a few hours to a full day, depending on the area. For a village or hamlet like Palestine, the journey is planned in advance: let us know about lanes, gates and parking. Everything for the job comes with us, so a second trip is avoided where possible.

  1. First we agree what’s being done and flag any loose tiles.
  2. Grout is raked out without chipping the tiles.
  3. The joints are cleaned out and vacuumed.
  4. We grout the joints and wipe the tiles clean.
  5. Internal corners and edges are resealed.

How to prepare

  • Let us know about earlier repairs to the joints
  • Keep children and pets away from the work area
  • Clear the area around the work
