Leagreen Regrouting
We cover Leagreen for raking out old, cracked or stained grout and regrouting tiled walls and floors. Old sealant removed completely, joints prepared properly and every job guaranteed for a year.
- Grout in corners that has cracked
- Dirty, worn grout on a tiled floor
- Old grout in a dated colour
Different surfaces, different methods
Shower walls
Shower walls are the most common area we regrout. Gaps here let water get behind the tiling.
Bathroom wall tiles
Tiles away from the shower stay drier but grout there still discolours. Regrouting brings them back in line.
Regrouting in Leagreen, done properly
Before we start, the tiles are checked. Loose or hollow tiles are pointed out first, because regrouting won’t fix what’s behind them. With sound tiles, regrouting is a tidy, lasting improvement. We work on bathroom floors, wet rooms and tiled floors, and the jobs we see most are grout that’s cracking and breaking up and gaps where the shower grout has gone.
For a small place like Leagreen, regrouting is planned like any other job: it just means planning the journey and access beforehand. Once we’re there, the bathroom or kitchen gets the same care as anywhere else.
Whatever the size of the job, it’s backed by our one-year guarantee.

Can I do it myself?

Is the work guaranteed?
Our 12-month guarantee applies to all our work. We are also fully insured.
Can you work on commercial sites?
Yes. We can plan bigger jobs in stages to suit the site.
How long will you be here?

What information do you need?
A short description and the location, plus pictures if you have them. We will ask anything else we need to know.
Can you regrout if a few tiles are loose?
Loose or hollow tiles are a sign of a problem behind them. Regrouting alone is not the answer and we will say so before going ahead.
What regrouting looks like in Leagreen
Leagreen is within about 1 mile of the coast. Coastal homes, holiday lets and guest houses can see heavy bathroom use in busy months, and sealant and grout that work that hard wear out sooner. Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings.
In the older streets around Church of All Saints, older homes can move a little, which is hard on rigid grout and tired sealant. Rented homes near New Milton station change hands often, and stained grout drags a rental down, and regrouting between lets puts that right.

Common problems we fix in Leagreen
Most grout is porous, so water, soap and grime soak into it. Given time, it discolours and begins to break down, especially in a shower that is used every day.
Look out for any of the following:
- Grout washed out of a shower
- Grout in corners that has cracked
- Stained grout that cleaning won’t shift
- Crumbling grout between the tiles
For site and facilities teams at buildings such as Hordle CofE (VA) Primary School, we reseal washrooms and kitchens in schools and businesses as well as homes.
What to look for in a quote
- What preparation is included
- Whether you can choose the colour
- How much experience the applicator has
- How long the guarantee is
Leave it or put it right?
Cracked grout lets water behind the tiles. Leave it, and the adhesive or the wall behind can suffer, and then you are looking at retiling. Dealing with it now keeps it small. Older cottages and farmhouses around Leagreen can have timber floors and frames, where water from a failed joint can cause rot if it’s left.
Every job is a little different, so we quote each one individually. The number of joints, how easy they are to reach and the sealant needed all play a part.
Why choose Mr Mastic in Leagreen

- Anti-fungal silicone where joints get wet

What affects the quote in Leagreen
Call for a quick quote. What matters most is:
- Whether old sealant or filler has to be cut out
- The number of rooms or windows
- Working hours on commercial sites
- The type of sealant required
A failed joint rarely gets cheaper to fix by waiting, because water and mould keep working on it. If you’re unsure, ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email for an honest opinion and a quote.
Helping us quote
When you call or email, it’s useful to know:
- The address or postcode of the job
- Access, such as stairs, a lift or height
- What’s wrong with the joints now
- If someone has resealed it before
We quote each job on its own, so the first step is telling us about yours. Simply phone 0345 464 0079 or email us and describe the job.
Aftercare tips
Once the sealant has cured, a few habits help it last:
- Look at the sealant in the corners now and then
- Keep harsh bleach and acid cleaners off the grout
- Wipe or squeegee the shower walls
- Run the extractor fan during and after a shower
We’ll tell you when the area can be used again. Please follow it, and go gently on the grout at first.
If grout in the shower is washing out, act soon. Every shower pushes more water into the gaps, and that water can reach the wall or the floor below.
The process
We work through the job in order: protect, prepare, seal, tidy. Typically it takes a few hours, or longer for a fully tiled room and we leave things clean and tidy. Somewhere like Leagreen needs a little journey planning: let us know about lanes, gates and parking. Everything for the job comes with us, so a second trip is avoided where possible.
- Every tile area is checked for hollow or loose tiles first.
- We rake out the grout evenly, protecting the tile edges.
- We vacuum the joints so the new grout bonds.
- We regrout the joints and clean the tile faces.
- We finish with silicone in the moving joints.
How to prepare
- Mention any sign-in or site rules at work premises
- Let us know about stairs, lifts or work at height
- Tell us about any water getting in
How to get a quote
We do not publish a price list, as no two jobs are quite the same. Instead, we send you a clear quote for your job. To arrange one, call 0345 464 0079 or email us.

DIY sealant or a professional job?
Sealing over old silicone is the commonest DIY error. Silicone doesn’t stick to old silicone, so it peels away and traps moisture behind it. All the old material has to come out first.
What a professional job adds is preparation and the right product. Joints are cleaned back to sound surfaces and dried, and the sealant is chosen for how the joint moves and where it is.
