Common questions in Halton
Do you work for landlords with property near Wendover station?
Yes, rental work is part of what we do. You can ring 0345 464 0079 or email us with the address and a few details, and we will give you a fixed price before work begins.
Do you cover smaller places like Halton?
Yes. Halton is within the area we cover, which takes in towns, villages and rural addresses. Our work covers London and the South East. Just mention lanes, gates or anything else about the route when you book.
Will it make a mess?
Not at all. We work neatly, protect the area around the joints and tidy up afterwards.
Can you regrout if a few tiles are loose?
Regrouting won’t fix loose tiles. We flag any loose or hollow tiles before starting, so you can decide what to do.
What guarantee comes with the work?
Our 12-month guarantee applies to all our work, and we are fully insured.
Can you quote for more than one area?
Of course. Combining jobs makes good use of the visit, so mention them when you ask for a quote.
How do I get a quote for regrouting in Halton?
We do not publish prices, because the cost depends on the job: how much there is, what’s there now, how we reach it and what it needs. We agree the price before any work begins.
Will the sealant be renewed as well as the grout?
Yes, in most cases. Fresh grout next to old, mouldy silicone would look odd and wouldn’t keep water out.
Regrouting for homes and businesses in Halton
Changing the grout colour is a simple way to update tiles. You might go from white to grey, or the other way round. Just mention the colour you’d like when you phone 0345 464 0079 or email us. We’re often asked to deal with grout stained black or orange that won’t clean and cracked or crumbling grout lines, on tiled floors, shower walls and wet rooms.
Being in a small place like Halton makes no difference to the job itself: it just means planning the journey and access beforehand. Once we are there, the bathroom or kitchen gets the same care as anywhere else.

When it is not the sealant
We won’t take on work that will not last, so these are the limits:
- Damaged tiles that need replacing
- Leaks from pipes, valves or wastes (a plumber’s job)
- A structure that flexes behind the tiles
If you are not sure, just phone 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

What we do, step by step
On the day, we look over the joints with you first. We protect the surfaces around the joints before any work starts. Most jobs take a few hours, or longer for a fully tiled room. For a village or hamlet like Halton, the journey is planned in advance: let us know about lanes, gates and parking. Everything for the job comes with us, so a second trip is avoided where possible.
- We start by checking the tiles for any that are loose or hollow.
- We rake out the old grout to an even depth, taking care of the tile edges.
- We vacuum the joints and clean out the dust.
- Fresh grout goes into the joints and the tile faces are wiped clean.
- We reseal the internal corners and edges with silicone.
Getting ready for the visit
- Mention any sign-in or site rules at work premises
- Keep pets and children clear of the area while we work
- Clear items away from the joints we are working on
Ask for a quote
Quotes start with a quick conversation. Tell us what’s wrong, where it is and how much there is, and we will talk you through what we’d do. When it suits you, call 0345 464 0079 or send us an email.
Advice
Keeping the joints in good condition
After the cure time, these simple habits help:
- Wipe water off the walls when you’re done
- Keep harsh bleach and acid cleaners off the grout
- Keep the fan on after showering
- Clean grout with a mild bathroom cleaner
Wipe the tiles down after a shower keeps water off the grout. Run the extractor fan or open a window so the grout dries between uses.
Leaving failed grout can mean tiles come loose. Once that happens, regrouting won’t fix it so early action pays.
Regrouting around Halton
Most of the South East has hard water, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in. Halton has hotels and guest accommodation nearby. As well as homes, we work in hotel bathrooms, where resealing and regrouting can be done room by room.
Managing a site like Halton Community Combined School? Then its toilets, changing areas and kitchens need their sealant renewed like any other building’s. Rented homes near Wendover station change hands often, and stained grout drags a rental down, and regrouting between lets puts that right.
Halton is about 3 miles west of Tring, in Buckinghamshire. Halton gets the same service as everywhere we cover: old sealant removed completely, careful preparation and a 12-month guarantee. We cover 263 towns and villages across Buckinghamshire. Oxford is on our list too, about 21 miles from Halton.

Do you need regrouting in Halton?
A poor original job is a common cause. If it was mixed too wet or not pressed in firmly can wash out within a few years.
Keep an eye out for any of the following:
- Shower grout that has worn away
- Dirty, worn grout on a tiled floor
- Grout stained black or orange that won’t clean
- Greasy, stained grout behind the hob
Homes close to Church of St Michael and All Angels include some older properties, and older homes can move a little, which is hard on rigid grout and tired sealant.

What affects the quote in Halton
There’s no set price list. What we look at:
- The type of sealant required
- Mould in or behind the old joints
- The old material and how stubborn it is
- Access and height
A few things move the cost up or down: how much old sealant there is and how stubborn it is, any mould to treat, and whether we need extra access for height. We take all of that into account in your quote.
Asking for a quote
What to tell us when you ask for a quote:
- If someone has resealed it before
- Whether it’s a home or a business
- What’s wrong with the joints now
- A few pictures by email, if you can
Want a quote for regrouting? Please call 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and tell us about the job. You’ll know what we plan to do, and what it will cost, before any work begins.
DIY sealant or a professional job?
The difference is mostly in the preparation and the product. We take joints back to clean, dry surfaces, and the sealant is chosen for how the joint moves and where it is.
Sealing over old silicone is the commonest DIY error. Silicone doesn’t stick to old silicone, so it peels away and traps moisture behind it. All the old material has to come out first.
Surface by surface
Shower walls
Showers put more water on grout than anywhere else. We replace it, and reseal the corners.
Wet rooms
Wet room grout and sealant need to be in good order. We renew both.
