Regrouting in Greosabhagh, done properly

A grout colour change can freshen a room without retiling. Light grout can go darker to hide marks, or the other way round. Just mention the colour you’d like when you drop us a line at info@mrmastic.co.uk. If you have grout that’s cracking and breaking up and grout stained black or orange that won’t clean, we can put it right, on kitchen splashbacks, bathroom floors and tiled floors alike.

Across smaller places in Scotland, homes range from stone and harled cottages to newer houses. Older buildings can move a little, and that shows first in cracked grout and split sealant.

A 12-month guarantee comes as standard, so you’re covered after we have gone.

How to look after the new joints

Once the sealant has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Run the extractor fan during and after a shower
  • Keep harsh bleach and acid cleaners off the grout
  • Use a squeegee on the tiles after showering
  • Stick to mild products for cleaning grout

Leave the area unused for as long as we advise, so it cures fully. From then on, a quick rinse after showering helps and let the room air.

Small problems with grout are quick to put right. Left for a few years, they can become a leak so it’s worth dealing with as soon as you spot it.

Work for landlords, hotels and businesses

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Tell us the address, the job and how access works and we will give you a quote.

For anyone letting property in or around Greosabhagh, jobs at different addresses can be quoted together. Just tell us the addresses and what each one needs.

What the job involves on each surface

Kitchen splashbacks

Grout behind the hob and sink works hard. We renew the grout and the worktop sealant.

Corners and edges

The joint between tiles and a bath, tray or worktop gets silicone. Grout there would crack.

How we quote for regrouting

Your quote is based on your job. We look at:

  • Whether old sealant or filler has to be cut out
  • The type of sealant required
  • Any mould that needs treating
  • Any working-time requirements on site

A failed joint rarely gets cheaper to fix by waiting. If you’re not sure whether it needs doing, email us at info@mrmastic.co.uk for an honest opinion and a quote.

Asking for a quote

Photos by email are helpful but not essential. Please mention:

  • The address or postcode of the job
  • Photos by email, if that is easy
  • Access, such as stairs, a lift or height
  • What’s wrong with the joints now

For a quick quote, get us on the phone, or email us if that is easier. Tell us about the joints that need doing and we will talk you through the work before giving you a price.

When it isn’t the sealant

Sealant is not the answer to every problem, and we will tell you before any work starts. Sealant will not put right:

  • Tiles that are loose or hollow behind
  • Leaks from pipes, valves or wastes (a plumber’s job)
  • Cracked or broken tiles

Not sure which it is? You can drop us a line at info@mrmastic.co.uk and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

What we seal

  • Bathroom floors
  • Bathroom wall tiles
  • Kitchen splashbacks
  • Shower walls
  • Tiled floors
  • Wet rooms

FAQs for Greosabhagh

What guarantee comes with regrouting in Greosabhagh?

Every job comes with our one-year guarantee, wherever it is. We are also fully insured and ARBOMaster approved.

Is Greosabhagh in your area for regrouting?

Yes, Greosabhagh is within the area we cover. Our work covers the whole of Scotland. You can email us at info@mrmastic.co.uk and tell us what needs doing, and we’ll give you a clear quote.

Where is Mr Mastic based?

We are a Crawley-based firm, with over 20 years’ experience. Our area covers South East England, London and Scotland.

Is resealing included with regrouting?

Most of the time, yes. Grout fills tile gaps and sealant handles the moving joints, so we renew both and include it in your quote.

Can tenants book the work?

Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Many landlords are glad to have it sorted.

Could my grout be a different colour after regrouting?

Yes, plenty of people choose to. A darker grout hides marks better and lighter grout gives a fresher look.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Tell us about everything you’d like done and we will quote it together.

Do you do commercial work?

Yes, regularly. We can plan bigger jobs in stages.

DIY sealant or a professional job?

Sealing over old silicone is the commonest DIY error. New silicone will not bond to old, so it lifts and traps water and mould underneath. Everything old must be removed first.

A careful DIYer can reseal a simple joint, like a short, easy-to-reach joint indoors. Where it goes wrong is sealing over the old bead, working on a wet joint or overloading the gap.

How the visit works

Every visit runs the same way: we check the joints, mask and protect the surrounding surfaces, carry out the job and tidy away. It usually takes anything from a few hours to a full day, depending on the area. In smaller Scottish places, parking is generally less of an issue than access and distance. Let us know how to find you and how to reach the joints.

  1. First we agree what’s being done and flag any loose tiles.
  2. We remove the old grout carefully.
  3. Dust is cleared from every joint.
  4. The new grout goes in, then the tile faces are cleaned.
  5. Internal corners and edges are resealed.

Before we arrive

  • Where the joints are inside, avoid wetting them before we arrive
  • Tell us if parking is tricky
  • Mention if the joints have been sealed before
