Regrouting in Fisher, West Sussex
Our applicators work in Fisher on raking out old, cracked or stained grout and regrouting tiled walls and floors. Old sealant removed completely, joints prepared properly and a 12-month guarantee.
- Grout that makes sound tiles look old
- Cracked or crumbling grout lines
- Grout that stays dark however much it’s cleaned
Honest limits
In fairness, there are a few things sealant will not fix:
- A structure that flexes behind the tiles
- Waterproofing that has failed below the tiling
- Water coming from plumbing rather than grout
If you’re not sure, just call 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

Regrouting in Fisher
If you’ve been scrubbing grout that will not come clean, the stain is often in the grout itself. New grout is the fix that lasts and you can pick a different colour while you are at it. Typical jobs include shower grout that has worn away and grout in a colour the owner wants to change, across shower walls, wet rooms and bathroom floors.
Being in a small place like Fisher makes no difference to the job itself: it just means planning the journey and access beforehand. In the bathroom or kitchen, the work is the same as in any town.
Whatever the size of the job, you get the same 12-month guarantee in Fisher and across West Sussex.

About regrouting
What we do, step by step
The work is kept neat and contained to the joints we’re treating. Expect the work to take a few hours for a shower enclosure, longer for a whole room, and we explain the cure time before we leave. Somewhere as small as Fisher, access is often the only tricky part. If the job is outside, mention outbuildings, exposed walls and how to reach them.
- First, we check for loose or hollow tiles and point out any we find.
- The old grout comes out to a consistent depth, without damaging the tiles.
- The joints are vacuumed and cleaned.
- New grout is worked into the joints and cleaned off the tile faces.
- We reseal the internal corners and edges with silicone.
Getting ready for the visit
- Tell us if parking is tricky
- Where the joints are inside, avoid wetting them before we arrive
- Let us know about earlier repairs to the joints
Ask for a quote
The more we know about the job, the more useful the quote. Let us know the location, the problem and roughly how many joints, and add photos by email if you can.
Advice
Quotes for regrouting in Fisher
There’s no set price list, because no two jobs are the same. What we look at:
- Access and height
- Whether there’s mould to deal with
- How much old sealant there is and how hard it is to remove
- Working hours on commercial sites
We do not show prices on the website, because each job is priced on what it involves. For a quick quote, please ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and we will talk you through it.
Helping us quote
Before you ask for a quote, have a think about:
- If it’s domestic, commercial or a hotel
- The problem you’ve noticed
- Pictures of the joints, sent by email
- Where the job is, and your postcode
To get a quote, call 0345 464 0079 or email us with the location and a short description of the problem. You will have a clear quote before any work starts.
Questions from Fisher
Do you cover Fisher for regrouting?
Yes. We work across London and the South East, and Fisher is part of that. You can call 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and tell us what needs doing.
Do you work for landlords with property near Chichester station?
Yes. We work for letting agents and landlords as well as homeowners, and several properties can be quoted together. Just ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email with the address and what needs doing, and we’ll send you a clear quote.
Do you do commercial work?
Yes. We work in offices, washrooms, hotels and other commercial premises. Working times can be discussed when we quote.
Where is Mr Mastic based?
We are a Crawley-based firm, with over 20 years’ experience. Our area covers South East England, London and Scotland.
How long does regrouting take?
A typical job takes anything from a few hours to a full day, depending on the area. We’ll confirm how long when we quote.
What goes in the corners, grout or silicone?
Internal corners and edges are sealed with flexible silicone. Grout in those joints cracks as the building moves.
Are you an approved applicator?
Yes. ARBOMaster is the approved applicator scheme for Arbo sealants, and we are part of it.
Do you guarantee regrouting?
There’s a 12-month guarantee on every job, including regrouting.
How to look after the new joints
A little care helps the new joints last. Our advice:
- Use a squeegee on the tiles after showering
- Rinse the tiles after showering
- Clean with a soft brush, not anything metal
- Don’t use strong acidic cleaners on grout
Use a gentle cleaner on the grout and a soft brush. Avoid neat bleach and strong acid descalers, as they can break grout down.
If grout in the shower is washing out, act soon. Each shower drives water into the open joints and it can end up in the wall or the ceiling below.
Surface by surface
Shower walls
Shower walls are the most common area we regrout. Gaps here let water get behind the tiling.
Corners and edges
Edges are resealed while we are there, so the whole area is finished together.
For landlords and businesses
Water getting past a failed joint can damage the building, which is a bigger problem in a rented property. Keeping joints in good order is simple maintenance.
We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Send the address, what’s needed and the access arrangements and we will quote.
Do you need regrouting in Fisher?
A bathroom that stays damp keeps the grout wet, and damp grout is where mould grows. Black marks that come back after cleaning are often in the grout itself.
Keep an eye out for these signs:
- Corners filled with grout instead of silicone
- Floor grout that will not come clean
- Grout that is cracking and breaking up
- Splashback grout that has darkened
Homes close to St Leodegar's Church include some older properties, and older homes can move a little, which is hard on rigid grout and tired sealant.
Before booking anyone
- What the cure time is
- Whether all the old sealant comes out first
- What insurance they hold
- Whether you can choose the colour
Fisher homes and their sealant
Fisher is within about 2 miles of the coast. Coastal homes, holiday lets and guest houses can see heavy bathroom use in busy months, and sealant and grout that work that hard wear out sooner. Most of the South East has hard water, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.
Rented homes near Chichester station change hands often, and stained grout drags a rental down, and regrouting between lets puts that right. For site and facilities teams at buildings such as Chichester High School For Girls, its toilets, changing areas and kitchens need their sealant renewed like any other building’s.
