Regrouting around Egypt
Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.
For an older house near a landmark such as Ebenezer Methodist Chapel, timber floors under older bathrooms flex, so joints need a sealant that moves with them.

How we handle regrouting in Egypt
Regrouting suits shower walls, bathroom floors, kitchen splashbacks and wet rooms. Some jobs are a whole room, or just the area that has failed. Whatever the size, the method stays the same. We work on bathroom wall tiles, shower walls and tiled floors, and common reasons people get in touch are good tiles let down by tired grout and crumbling grout between the tiles.
In a village or hamlet like Egypt, homes are often older cottages and farmhouses alongside a few newer houses. Older walls and timber floors can move a little, and cracked grout and split sealant are often the first signs.
Big or small, you get the same 12-month guarantee.

What we do, step by step
We bring everything the job needs with us, so you do not need to buy or prepare anything. Once we’ve agreed what’s being done, we protect the area and start. It normally takes anything from a few hours to a full day, depending on the area. In a small place like Egypt, access is generally the main thing to plan. For outside work, also let us know about exposed walls and any outbuildings involved.
- Every tile area is checked for hollow or loose tiles first.
- The old grout is removed to an even depth.
- We vacuum the joints so the new grout bonds.
- New grout is pressed into the joints and the tiles are cleaned.
- Silicone goes into the corners and along the edges.
Preparing for the visit
- Mention any sign-in or site rules at work premises
- Try not to wet indoor joints just before the visit
- Tell us about any water getting in

Advice
DIY sealant or a professional job?
If you’ve already had a go yourself, that is fine. We cut it out and start again.
Sealing over old silicone is the commonest DIY error. Silicone does not stick to old silicone, so it lifts and traps water and mould underneath. All the old material has to come out first.
Work for landlords, hotels and businesses
Whether it’s one flat or a portfolio, the work is the same standard: old sealant fully removed, joints prepared properly and a 12-month guarantee.
If you manage several properties in or around Egypt, several properties can be quoted together. Just tell us the addresses and what each one needs, and photos by email help.
Different surfaces, different methods
Bathroom floors
If floor grout keeps cracking, the floor may be moving. We check the tiles before regrouting.
Corners and edges
Edges are resealed while we’re there, so everything is renewed at once.
Signs you need regrouting in Egypt
Grout used in corners or along the bath cracks as the bath or tray moves. They need flexible sealant, and when they are not, water gets in.
Signs it’s time to call us include:
- Good tiles let down by tired grout
- Shower grout that has worn away
- Grout in a colour the owner wants to change
- Floor grout that will not come clean
Rented homes near Micheldever station change hands often, and stained grout drags a rental down, and regrouting between lets puts that right.

Egypt: your questions answered
Is Egypt in your area for regrouting?
Yes, Egypt is within the area we cover. Our work covers London and the South East. You can ring 0345 464 0079 or email us and tell us what needs doing, and we will send you a clear quote.
Do you cover smaller places like Egypt?
Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. We work across London and the South East. Just mention lanes, gates or anything else about the route when you book.
When can I use the shower again?
We give you a time before we leave. The wait depends on the products and conditions, so follow the time we give you.
How long does the job take?
Most jobs take anything from a few hours to a full day, depending on the area. Your quote will say how long we expect yours to take.
Is resealing included with regrouting?
Generally, yes. The corners and edges should be silicone, and it makes sense to renew both together.
Can you work on commercial sites?
Yes. Larger jobs can be planned room by room or area by area to suit the site.
Can you seal over the old sealant?
No. We remove every bit of old sealant first, so the new sealant bonds properly.
Do you work for letting agents?
Yes. We work in homes, commercial premises and hotels.
What we can’t put right
Some problems need a builder, plumber or other trade rather than us:
- Tiles that have come away from the wall
- Tiles that are chipped or split
- Waterproofing that has failed below the tiling
If you’re not sure, just phone 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

How to look after the new joints
After the cure time, these simple habits help:
- Avoid neat bleach and strong acid descalers on grout
- Skip wire brushes and scourers
- Get any tile that moves checked promptly
- Give the walls a quick rinse after use
Before we leave, you’ll know when the shower can be used. Please follow it, and go gently on the grout at first.
Fixing grout early is a small job. Left for a few years, they can become a leak, so get it looked at when you notice it.
