Need regrouting in Earley?

Regrouting in Earley, done properly

We take the old grout out to a consistent depth, without damaging the edges of the tiles. The joints are then vacuumed, regrouted and cleaned off, and the corners get fresh silicone. If you’re dealing with floor grout that won’t come clean and gaps where the shower grout has gone, we can help, whatever the surface.

Homes around Earley have been extended and refitted over the decades. A common problem is new sealant laid over old, which never bonds properly, so we take every joint back to clean before anything new goes in.

Our work is backed for twelve months, in Earley and everywhere else we cover.

Honest limits

We will always be straight with you, so here’s what new sealant won’t do:

  • Waterproofing that has failed below the tiling
  • Damaged tiles that need replacing
  • Movement in a stud wall or floor

If you are not sure, just call 0345 464 0079 or email us and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

Joints and surfaces we work on

  • Wet rooms
  • Shower walls
  • Tiled floors
  • Kitchen splashbacks
  • Bathroom floors
  • Bathroom wall tiles

Can I do it myself?

Not every job suits DIY: high-level joints, fire-rated gaps, external movement joints and big jobs need the right product, the right access and the right method.

Sealing over old silicone is the commonest DIY error. New silicone won’t bond to old, so it lifts and traps water and mould underneath. Everything old must be removed first.

Do you need regrouting in Earley?

A bathroom that stays damp keeps the grout wet, giving mould a place to grow. When black spots keep returning, the mould has usually got into the grout.

If you can see any of these, it’s time to have the joints looked at:

  • Gaps where the shower grout has gone
  • Grout in corners that has cracked
  • Floor grout that will not come clean
  • Kitchen splashback grout stained by grease

If you live in an older home near Trinity Church, timber floors under older bathrooms flex, so joints need a sealant that moves with them.

Your questions about regrouting in Earley

Is there a guarantee on regrouting in Earley?

All our work, in Earley and everywhere else, comes with a 12-month guarantee. We are also fully insured and ARBOMaster approved.

Can you do regrouting in Earley?

Yes, Earley is within the area we cover. Our work covers London and the South East. Just ring 0345 464 0079 or email us with a few details of the job.

Do I have to be there?

If the work is inside, we need someone to let us in. After that, you can carry on with your day.

Where are you based?

We’re a Crawley-based firm. Our area covers South East England, London and Scotland.

What goes in the corners, grout or silicone?

We use silicone in corners and along edges. Grout in those joints cracks as the building moves.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Of course. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

Should I try DIY first?

It depends on the job. Work at height, movement joints, fire-rated gaps and large areas are best left to a professional, while a short indoor joint may be within reach.

Will the old sealant be removed?

Yes, always, and completely. New sealant won’t bond properly to old, so the joint is cleaned back first.

What the job involves on each surface

Wet rooms

Both the grout and the silicone in a wet room matter. We replace the grout and reseal the edges.

Bathroom floors

Floor grout takes foot traffic as well as water. It wears and darkens over time.

The process

Once we are on site, we check the joints match what you told us. If anything is different, we explain it before carrying on. After that, the work takes a few hours, or longer for a fully tiled room. In Earley, parking is rarely complicated, though it helps to know about driveways or restrictions, and mention if the work is upstairs, in a flat or high on the outside.

  1. We start by checking the tiles for any that are loose or hollow.
  2. We rake out the old grout to an even depth, taking care of the tile edges.
  3. We vacuum the joints and clean out the dust.
  4. We fill the joints with new grout, then clean the tiles.
  5. The corners and edges get new silicone, because grout there would crack.

How to prepare

  • Where the joints are inside, avoid wetting them before we arrive
  • Mention any parking rules near the property
  • Keep children and pets away from the work area
