Regrouting in Dial Post
Our applicators work in Dial Post on raking out old, cracked or stained grout and regrouting tiled walls and floors. Old sealant removed completely, joints prepared properly and every job guaranteed for a year.
- Splashback grout that has darkened
- Corners filled with grout instead of silicone
- Grout that makes sound tiles look old
Regrouting for homes and businesses in Dial Post
Before any work starts, the tiles are checked. If any tiles are loose or sound hollow, we tell you, since new grout can’t fix a problem underneath. Where the tiles are sound, regrouting gives the area a new lease of life. We work on wet rooms, bathroom floors and tiled floors, and the jobs we see most are grout that stays dark however much it’s cleaned and grout in corners that has cracked.
Around Dial Post, it’s houses and cottages rather than flats. Sealant and grout wear out here just as they do anywhere: everything old comes out before the new sealant or grout goes in.
We stand behind the work with a 12-month guarantee, so you are not left on your own once the job is done.

When to call us in Dial Post
Hard water and soap leave a film on grout that’s hard to shift. In time the grout under it darkens and breaks down, and at that point, new grout is the better answer.
The most common problems we see are:
- Grout that’s cracking and breaking up
- Grout that stays dark however much it’s cleaned
- Discoloured grout on otherwise sound tiles
- Floor grout that won’t come clean
For jobs in and around Dial Post, choosing the right material for each joint is as important as a tidy finish.
What your quote should include
- What the cure time is
- What happens if they find a problem under the old sealant
- Whether all the old sealant comes out first
- Whether they’re fully insured
What the job involves on each surface
Kitchen splashbacks
We can regroute a splashback with the kitchen left in place. The joint along the worktop is resealed with silicone.
Bathroom floors
New floor grout makes a big difference to how a bathroom looks. Floor-to-wall and bath joints are sealed, not grouted.
The process
On the day, there’s very little for you to do. Point us to the joints and we will get on with it. The work itself takes a few hours, or longer for a fully tiled room from start to finish. Somewhere like Dial Post needs a little journey planning: let us know about lanes, gates and parking. We bring what the job needs, so it can be finished in one trip where possible.
- We agree the area to be regrouted and point out any loose tiles.
- We remove the old grout carefully.
- Dust is cleared from every joint.
- The new grout goes in, then the tile faces are cleaned.
- Internal corners and edges are resealed.
How to prepare
- Try not to wet indoor joints just before the visit
- Keep children and pets away from the work area
- Let us know if you’ve seen damp or leaks

Why it’s worth doing now in Dial Post
Grouting over old grout rarely lasts. A thin skin on top tends to break off. Removing the old grout to an even depth lets the new grout key in properly. Around Dial Post, older homes often have timber in their floors and frames, and water through a failed joint can rot timber if it’s left.
We do not show prices on the website, because each job is priced on what it involves. Call for a quick quote and we will talk you through it.

Common questions in Dial Post
Is there a guarantee on regrouting in Dial Post?
Every job comes with our one-year guarantee, wherever it is. We’re fully insured, and an ARBOMaster approved applicator.
Will you come out to Dial Post?
Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. Our work covers London and the South East. Just mention lanes, gates or anything else about the route when you book.
Where do you work from?
We’re a Crawley-based firm. We work across South East England, London and Scotland.
How long does the job take?
As a guide, most jobs take anything from a few hours to a full day, depending on the area. Larger jobs naturally take longer, and we will tell you how long to expect.
Do you hold any approvals?
Yes. We are ARBOMaster approved, the scheme for applicators of Arbo sealants.
Can you do several jobs on one visit?
Yes. Just list everything you need and we will quote it together.
What goes in the corners, grout or silicone?
Corners get silicone, not grout. They move slightly and grout can’t take that movement.
What information do you need?
The location, the problem and the rough size of the job. Photos by email help too.

The price is agreed before any work begins. It takes into account:
- Any mould that needs treating
- Whether the work is at height
- When we can work, for business premises
- The old material and how stubborn it is
A few things move the cost up or down: how much old sealant there is and how stubborn it is, any mould to treat, and whether the work is at height. We take all of that into account in your quote.

Honest limits
It helps to know what we can’t do:
- Leaks from pipes, valves or wastes (a plumber’s job)
- Tiles that are loose or hollow behind
- A structure that flexes behind the tiles

Aftercare tips
Looking after new joints is easy, and it makes a real difference:
- Skip wire brushes and scourers
- Clean grout with a mild bathroom cleaner
- Open a window or run the fan to clear steam
- Wipe or squeegee the shower walls
Leave the area unused for as long as we advise, so it cures fully. From then on, a quick rinse after showering helps and keep the room ventilated.
Stains that will not clean are a sign the grout is breaking down. Regrouting at this stage is straightforward, before the joints open up.
