About our regrouting in Box Hill
A bathroom with good tiles can still look worn if the grout has gone. With regrouting, the tiles stay and only the grout is renewed, so there’s no stripping out and no new tiles to choose. We work on shower walls, wet rooms and kitchen splashbacks, and the jobs we see most are stained grout that cleaning won’t shift and cracked or crumbling grout lines.
Homes around Box Hill are mostly houses and cottages rather than flats. Sealant and grout wear out here just as they do anywhere: old material cut out, joints cleaned and a fresh finish laid.
We stand behind the work with a 12-month guarantee, so you’re not left on your own once the job is done.

For landlords and businesses
In hotels, rooms out of use cost money, so we plan the work room by room around your bookings where we can. We have worked in hotels as well as homes and businesses.
Businesses can book us for washrooms, kitchens, offices and more. For commercial premises, we can talk through working times when we quote.

Regrouting around Box Hill
Most of the South East has hard water, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings.
Schools such as The Ashcombe School are buildings too, and its toilets, changing areas and kitchens need their sealant renewed like any other building’s. Letting a property close to Betchworth station? Then clean grout and fresh sealant between tenancies make a bathroom look cared for again.

Surface by surface
Shower walls
Showers put more water on grout than anywhere else. We replace it, and reseal the corners.
Bathroom floors
Regrouting a floor brightens the whole room. Floor-to-wall and bath joints are sealed, not grouted.
Do you need regrouting in Box Hill?
A bathroom that stays damp keeps the grout wet, giving mould a place to grow. Black marks that come back after cleaning are often in the grout itself.
People normally contact us when they notice something like this:
- Grout that makes sound tiles look old
- Greasy, stained grout behind the hob
- Old grout in a dated colour
- Cracked or crumbling grout lines
If you live in an older home near St. Andrew's Church, walls and floors in older homes can move, and sealant and grout show it first.

How it works
Most of a good job is in the preparation, so that is where we spend the time. Every joint is cleaned and dried before new material goes in. In total, it normally takes a few hours, or longer for a fully tiled room. Somewhere like Box Hill needs a little journey planning: tell us about narrow lanes, gates, long drives and where we can park. We bring what the job needs, so it can be finished in one trip where possible.
- We check the tiles are sound and flag any that are loose or hollow.
- We rake out the old grout to an even depth, taking care of the tile edges.
- The joints are vacuumed and cleaned.
- New grout is worked into the joints and cleaned off the tile faces.
- The corners and edges get new silicone, because grout there would crack.
Preparing for the visit
- Try not to wet indoor joints just before the visit
- Plan for the work area to be out of bounds to pets and children
- On commercial sites, let us know about site rules

Advice
Box Hill: your questions answered
Will you come out to Box Hill?
Yes, we do. We work across London and the South East, and smaller places are part of that. Longer journeys are simply planned in advance.
Do you work for landlords with property near Betchworth station?
Yes, rental work is part of what we do. You can ring 0345 464 0079 or email us with the address and a few details, and we will give you a fixed price before we start.
What do you put in the joint?
The product depends on the job: anti-fungal sanitary silicone in wet areas, and other sealants where joints move or face the weather. Brands we use include Arbo and Everbuild.
Do you work for hotels and businesses?
Yes. We can plan bigger jobs in stages to suit the site.
Can you quote for more than one area?
Yes, we can. More than one area can go on one quote.
Where do you work from?
Our base is Crawley, with over 20 years’ experience. We work across South East England, London and Scotland.
Do you remove the old sealant?
Yes. All of the old material is cut out and the joint cleaned.
Do the sealants smell?
There can be a smell while the sealant cures, but it fades. Opening a window helps.
When something else is needed
In fairness, there are a few things sealant will not fix:
- Tiles that have come away from the wall
- Cracked or broken tiles
- A leaking wet room membrane
If you are not sure, just phone 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and we will give you a straight answer.
Joints and surfaces we work on
- Kitchen splashbacks
- Bathroom wall tiles
- Wet rooms
- Tiled floors
- Bathroom floors
- Shower walls
Keeping the joints in good condition
Joint life depends on how it’s used and looked after. We suggest:
- Check the corner silicone every few months
- Use a soft brush rather than a wire one
- Wipe or squeegee the shower walls
- Open a window or run the fan to clear steam
Wipe the tiles down after a shower stops soap and water sitting on the grout. Run the extractor fan or open a window to help it dry out.
Cracked grout does not stay cracked for long. Water gets in behind and the tiles can start to loosen, so regrouting early can save a retile.
