Our bathroom resealing service in PH24
It is not only bathrooms. The joint between worktop and wall, the edge of the sink and the bottom of the splashback all take splashes every day, and water behind a laminate worktop can make it swell. We reseal them with a kitchen-suitable silicone, matched to the worktop where it’s on show. Typical jobs include a messy, uneven bead from a previous reseal and mouldy sealant that has gone black, across wet rooms, sinks & splashbacks and baths.
On the day, we start by going over the job with you. We protect the surfaces around the joints before any work starts. Most jobs take a couple of hours for a single bath or shower.
- First, each joint is checked for movement and signs of water.
- The old silicone is cut out completely, along with the film it leaves on the tiles.
- Joints are degreased and any mould is treated.
- With the joint dry, and any bath loaded with water, a single bead of anti-fungal silicone is applied.
- We tool the bead to a neat finish and give you the cure time, usually around 24 hours.

Bathroom resealing across PH24: local notes
Our bathroom resealing work across PH24 covers homes, rentals and businesses, from Boat of Garten to the quieter places in between. Wherever the job is, all the old material comes out before anything new goes in.
Our work covers the whole of Scotland, PH24 included. Longer journeys are planned in advance, and outdoor work around the weather.
Boat of Garten: In and around Boat of Garten, as anywhere, good bathroom resealing starts with a clean, dry, properly prepared joint. If you let a flat or house near Carrbridge station, fresh sealant around the bath, shower and sink between tenancies helps a property present well and keeps leaks at bay.
Work for landlords, hotels and businesses
From a single let to a portfolio, the work is the same standard: the old material taken out, careful preparation and a 12-month guarantee.
Mouldy or split sealant often shows up at the end of a tenancy. Several properties can be quoted together.
Different surfaces, different methods
Kitchen worktops & upstands
The joint between worktop and wall takes splashes, crumbs and cleaning sprays. We seal them in a colour that suits the worktop.
Basins & vanity units
On a basin, neatness shows: the bead is right in front of you, so it’s tooled cleanly and evenly, in white, clear or a colour to suit.
Honest limits
We’d rather tell you now than do work that will not last, so these are the limits:
- A tray or bath that is cracked through
- Damage behind the tiles that needs a tiler
- Water coming from the plumbing rather than the joint
Quotes for bathroom resealing in PH24
We don’t publish a price list. What we look at:
- How many rooms, windows or areas are involved
- How easy the joints are to reach
- The size of the job
- Any working-time requirements on site
Some things make a job bigger or smaller: the old material and how easily it comes out, whether mould needs treating, and whether we need extra access for height. We take all of that into account in your quote.
What we need to know
When you call or email, these details help:
- If someone has resealed it before
- How many joints, rooms or windows are involved
- What the problem is, such as mould, gaps, leaks or cracking
- Whether it’s a home or a business

Can I do it myself?
Some jobs are best left to a professional: high-level joints, fire-rated gaps, external movement joints and big jobs need the right product, the right access and the right method.
If you do try it yourself, take your time over the preparation: take out all the old sealant, make sure the joint is clean and dry, and give it the full cure time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still put it right.
Questions from PH24
How long does a bath or shower reseal take?
It depends on how many joints there are and how much old sealant has to come out. For most single baths or showers, allow a couple of hours.
Are you fully insured?
Yes. Mr Mastic is fully insured, with over 20 years’ experience in sealant work.
Should I try DIY first?
That depends on the joint. Work at height, movement joints, fire-rated gaps and large areas are best left to a professional.
Do you come to PH24?
Yes. We cover PH24 and the rest of Highland, as part of our work across South East England, London and Scotland. For a quote, send an email to info@mrmastic.co.uk.
I’m a tenant. Can you help?
Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Landlords are often happy for the work to be arranged.
Can I add another job to the visit?
Yes. Several rooms, windows or areas can go on one quote.
What colours of sealant can you use?
Most people choose white or clear, and other colours are available to suit tiles, trays and worktops. Tell us what you’d like when you get in touch.
