Gutter sealing in Oval
Water dripping from a gutter joint can stain walls and soak the ground below. Resealing the joint is often all it needs if the gutter isn’t damaged. We work on garage door frames, uPVC fascias and roofline trims, and common reasons people get in touch are stop ends leaking at the end of a run and gaps along fascia and soffit joints.
Newer London blocks are built with movement joints in brick and render, and with cladding joints sealed with mastic. Older terraces have their own weak points: gutter joints, roofline trims and the joint where an extension meets the original wall, and both kinds of building are found across London.
You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Oval as everywhere else we work.

Surface by surface
Garage door frames
Failed sealant around a garage door frame lets water in. We cut it out and reseal.
uPVC fascias
Open fascia joints look untidy and can let water in. Sealing them closes the gap.
Work for landlords, hotels and businesses
Mouldy or split sealant often shows up at the end of a tenancy, and it’s quick to put right between tenancies. Several properties can be quoted together.
For anyone letting property in or around Oval, several properties can go on one quote. Just tell us the addresses and what each one needs, and pictures by email help.
Do you need gutter sealing in Oval?
End caps get knocked or pushed by water. If the seal fails, water escapes at the end.
Common reasons people contact us are:
- Wet patches on the wall under a gutter joint
- Drips from gutter joints and end caps
- Gaps along fascia and soffit joints
- Damp patches inside below a leaking gutter
Oval is in London, so parking needs planning: tell us about permits, visitor bays or off-street space when you book.

Honest limits
We’d rather tell you now than do work that won’t last, so these are the limits:
- Leaks from the roof rather than a joint
- Water backing up from a blocked pipe
- Guttering that needs replacing
If in doubt, phone 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and we will say what we think.

Can I do it myself?
Sealing over old silicone is the commonest DIY error. Silicone doesn’t stick to old silicone, so it lifts and traps water and mould underneath. Everything old must be removed first.
If you’ve already had a go yourself, that is fine. We cut it out and start again.
Oval buildings and the weather
The South East is one of the drier parts of the UK, yet outdoor joints still have to be sealed dry, so jobs are booked with the weather in mind. In terraces and conversions, gutters and walls are often shared with the neighbours, so check who is responsible for the outside before booking.
Letting a property close to Vauxhall station? Then a dripping gutter joint or loose fascia trim is easy to miss until damp shows inside. Schools such as St Stephen's Church of England Primary School are buildings too, and its movement joints, gutters and trims need looking after like any other building’s.

Keeping the joints in good condition
Once the sealant has cured, a few habits help it last:
- Keep an eye out for wet patches below a joint
- Keep downpipes clear
- Keep the gutters clear of debris
- Get a dropping gutter looked at quickly
A sagging gutter needs its brackets checked. Movement will pull the joints open again.
Early sealing limits how much water hits the wall. If we find a bigger problem, we’ll tell you.
