Sealing leaking gutter joints, end caps, fascias, soffits and roofline trims for homes and businesses in Greenigoe and across the Orkney Islands. Fully insured, ARBOMaster approved and guaranteed for a year.

- Open joints in fascias and soffits
- Water running down the wall below the gutter
About our gutter sealing in Greenigoe
Garage door frames let rain in when the sealant around them fails. We cut out the old sealant and reseal the frame with an exterior sealant. Typical jobs include earlier gutter repairs that have peeled off and rain getting in around a garage door, across garage door frames, soffit joints and gutter end caps.
Stone walls need a stone-friendly sealant, as acetoxy products can attack some stone. On newer homes, the movement joints and roofline trims are what need watching.
We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you’re covered after we have gone.

Can I do it myself?
What a professional job adds is preparation and the right product. We take joints back to clean, dry surfaces, and the sealant is matched to the joint and its conditions, and the work is guaranteed for a year.
A DIY attempt doesn’t rule out a professional job. We cut it out and start again, so just mention it when you contact us.
What we’re called out for in Greenigoe
Sagging sections pull joints apart. Sealing won’t hold if the gutter keeps dropping so the brackets need attention first.
People normally contact us when they notice something like this:
- Earlier gutter repairs that have peeled off
- Gaps along fascia and soffit joints
- Wet patches on the wall under a gutter joint
- Garage door frames letting rain in
Whether the job is in Greenigoe itself or nearby, the right material for each joint matters as much as a neat finish.

Your questions about gutter sealing in Greenigoe
Do you cover smaller places like Greenigoe?
Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. Our work covers the whole of Scotland, including the islands, where work is planned around ferry crossings. Just mention lanes, gates or anything else about the route when you book.
Does the coastal weather in Greenigoe affect outside sealant?
Coastal weather is harder on outside sealant: there’s more wind-driven rain and, closer to the shore, salt in the air. Choosing the right sealant for the frame and wall, laid at the right depth, helps it last.
Will sealant fix a dripping gutter joint?
Most of the time. If the gutter is sagging or cracked, sealing won’t last and we will say so.
Where is Mr Mastic based?
Our base is in Crawley, West Sussex, and we cover South East England, London and all of Scotland.
Is it worth trying it myself?
For a simple, easy-to-reach joint, a careful DIYer can do a reasonable job. Most DIY failures come from sealing over old material, wet joints or too much sealant.
Do you work for letting agents?
Yes. We work in homes, commercial premises and hotels, and we are fully insured.
Can you seal over the old sealant?
No. Fresh sealant doesn’t stick to old sealant, and it traps any mould or water underneath. We remove it all first.
Can you work on commercial sites?
Yes. Larger jobs can be planned room by room or area by area.
When it isn’t the sealant
It helps to know what we cannot do:
- Boards that have decayed or split
- Roof leaks, slipped tiles or failed flashing (a roofer’s job)
- Sagging gutters or broken brackets
If you’re not sure, just email us at info@mrmastic.co.uk and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

How the visit works
The work is kept neat and contained to the joints we are treating. The job normally takes an hour or two for a few joints, longer for a full run, and we tell you how long to leave it before we go. Around Greenigoe, distance and access matter more than parking. Tell us how to find the property and how to reach the work, and the visit is planned around that.
- We look at where the water is coming from and check the gutter isn’t broken or sagging.
- We clean out the joint and take out the old sealant.
- The joint is dried, because sealant won’t bond to a wet surface.
- An exterior or gutter sealant is applied to the joint.
- The run is checked and any debris near the joints is cleared.
Getting ready for the visit
- Where the joints are inside, avoid wetting them before we arrive
- Let us know about parking restrictions
- Mention any tricky access

Greenigoe buildings and the weather
Greenigoe is close to the coast, where wind-driven rain is a fact of life and, nearer the shore, so is salt air. That’s hard on gutter, fascia and roofline joints, especially on the side facing the sea. Plenty of Scottish homes have harled walls, and joints where harling meets other materials need a sealant that can grip and flex.
In and around Greenigoe, as anywhere, good gutter sealing starts with a clean, dry, properly prepared joint.

Aftercare tips
Simple care keeps the joints in good condition. We recommend:
- Check the gutters during heavy rain
- Look along the fascias for open joints
- Keep downpipes clear
- Do not leave a sagging gutter
Check the joints after heavy rain. It’s the easiest time to see a leak.
If an end cap is dripping, deal with it before winter. Water down the wall all winter can cause damp.
