Dunoon Gutter Sealing
Our applicators work in Dunoon on sealing leaking gutter joints, end caps, fascias, soffits and roofline trims. Old material cut out, joints cleaned and sealed neatly.
- Failed sealant on a garage door frame
- Gaps along fascia and soffit joints
- Wet patches on the wall under a gutter joint
How we handle gutter sealing in Dunoon
A drip at a gutter joint is easy to ignore, but the water lands on the same spot every time it rains. Sealing it is quick while the gutter is still sound. If you are dealing with water dripping where gutter sections meet and earlier gutter repairs that have peeled off, we can put it right, whatever the surface.
Outside joints can only be sealed when they’re dry, so work in Dunoon depends on the weather. Tell us how to reach each wall, gutter and roofline.
The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything isn’t right with it, drop us a line at info@mrmastic.co.uk.

Dunoon: your questions answered
Do you cover smaller places like Dunoon?
Yes, we do. Our work covers the whole of Scotland, from towns to the smallest places. The journey is planned ahead, so it helps to know about access.
Do you work for landlords with property near Inverkip station?
Yes. We work for landlords and letting agents as well as homeowners. You can drop us a line at info@mrmastic.co.uk with the details for a clear quote.
Do you take out the old sealant first?
Yes. All of the old material is cut out and the joint cleaned.
What sealant do you use?
We choose the sealant for the joint, not the other way round. Where it moves, gets wet or faces the weather makes a difference, and we’ll tell you what we are using.
When is the sealant fully cured?
Many sealants skin over quickly but take longer to cure fully. We’ll tell you how long to leave the joint before we leave.
What information do you need?
Only a few details: the address or postcode, what’s wrong and any access issues. After that, simply drop us a line at info@mrmastic.co.uk.
Can you seal fascia and soffit joints?
Yes. We seal open joints along fascias and soffits in a colour to suit.
Are you an approved applicator?
Yes. We are an ARBOMaster approved applicator.

Aftercare tips
Good habits help new joints last longer. Our tips:
- Keep an eye out for wet patches below a joint
- Look at the gutters while it’s raining
- Deal with a drip before winter
- Check fascia and soffit joints for gaps
Look at fascia and trim joints when you are checking the gutters. Splits are easier to seal early.
If an end cap is dripping, deal with it before winter. Water down the wall all winter can cause damp inside.
How we quote for gutter sealing
Your quote is based on your job. We look at:
- Mould in or behind the old joints
- How many rooms, windows or areas are involved
- Working hours on commercial sites
- How much old sealant there is and how hard it is to remove
No two jobs are quite the same, so each one gets its own quote. Size, access and the product the joint needs all make a difference, and we will explain the quote if you ask.
What we need to know
Photos help, but a description is a good start. Please mention:
- Whether it’s a home or a business
- What the problem is, such as mould, gaps, leaks or cracking
- Whether it has been sealed before
- Where the property is
To get a quote, email us at info@mrmastic.co.uk with the location and a short description of the problem. You’ll have a clear quote before work begins.
Dunoon buildings and the weather
Dunoon is within about 1 mile of the coast, where wind-driven rain is a fact of life and, nearer the shore, so is salt air. That is hard on gutter, fascia and roofline joints, especially on the side facing the sea. Harled (roughcast) walls are common in Scotland, and joints where harling meets other materials need a sealant that can grip and flex.
For site and facilities teams at buildings such as Dunoon Primary School And Janitor's House, its movement joints, gutters and trims need looking after like any other building’s. If you let a flat or house near Inverkip station, a dripping gutter joint or loose fascia trim is easy to miss until damp shows inside.

Leave it or put it right?
You don’t need to replace a garage door because rain gets in round the frame. Sealing the frame generally stops it, if the frame itself is sound. When the nearest tradesperson is a drive away, it’s tempting to leave a small leak, but water through a failed joint keeps working away until it’s fixed.
A failed joint rarely gets cheaper to fix by waiting, because water and mould keep working on it. If you’re unsure, drop us a line at info@mrmastic.co.uk and we will give you an honest view and a quote.

What we’re called out for in Dunoon
Sagging sections pull joints apart. Sealing won’t hold if the gutter keeps dropping, so the gutter needs refixing first.
The most common problems we see are:
- Old gutter sealant that has let go
- Water running down the wall below the gutter
- Drips from gutter joints and end caps
- Internal damp traced to a gutter joint
If you live in an older home near St John’s Church (Dunoon), older walls, gutters and the joints where extensions meet them need a flexible sealant.

Soffit joints
Soffits sit under the eaves, where joints can open up. They’re sealed to tidy the line.
Gutter end caps
Drips from a stop end run down the brickwork. It’s a small job to fix.
