About our gutter sealing in Burnham
It’s easy to live with a dripping gutter joint, but each shower sends water to the same place. Resealing it is a small job if the gutter is otherwise in good order. Common call-outs are for failed sealant on a garage door frame and quick sealant fixes on gutters that didn’t last, across gutter joints, uPVC fascias and gutter end caps.
Houses in smaller places like Burnham can stand more in the open than those in a built-up town, so exposed walls and rooflines take more wind-driven rain. That is where gutter joints and wall joints tend to fail first.
A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you’re not left on your own once the job is done.

What affects the cost of gutter sealing
Every job gets its own quote. These are the things that affect it:
- Any working-time requirements on site
- Access and height
- The number of rooms or windows
- The amount of work
Doing several joints on one visit is usually more efficient than separate visits. You’ll get one clear quote for the whole job.
What to tell us for a quote
When you contact us, it’s useful to know:
- Where the job is, and your postcode
- How many joints, rooms or windows are involved
- Photos by email, if that is easy
- Whether it has been sealed before
Quotes start with a quick conversation. Describe the problem, the location and the size of the job, and we will talk you through what we’d do. When it suits you, call 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email.
Walls and rooflines in Burnham
With historic houses such as Dorney Court (about 1.9 miles south) nearby, there’s older building stock in the area around Burnham as well as newer homes. In older buildings, older brick and stone need a sealant that suits them, at the right joint depth. Compared with the north and west, the South East gets less rain, yet outdoor joints still have to be sealed dry, so jobs are booked with the weather in mind.
In the older streets around St Peter's Church, an extension built onto an older house moves differently, and the joint between them takes the strain. If you look after a building such as The E-Act Burnham Park Academy, movement joints, cladding joints and gutters on larger buildings need the same care as a house’s. Rented homes near Burnham station change hands often, and a dripping gutter joint or loose fascia trim is easy to miss until damp shows inside.

Burnham questions
Do you cover Burnham for gutter sealing?
Yes, Burnham is within the area we cover. We work across London and the South East. Just call 0345 464 0079 or email us with a few details of the job, and we will give you a clear quote.
Do you cover smaller places like Burnham?
Yes, Burnham is covered. Our work covers London and the South East, and smaller places are part of that. Longer journeys are simply planned in advance.
Is sealant enough for a gutter that has dropped?
Sealant will not hold a sagging gutter. The gutter needs refixing by a gutter installer, and we will tell you if that’s what we find.
Should I try DIY first?
Some simple jobs can be done by a careful DIYer. The usual mistakes are sealing over old sealant, sealing a damp joint and using too much.
Where are you based?
Our base is Crawley, with over 20 years’ experience. Our area covers South East England, London and Scotland.
Are you an approved applicator?
Yes. We are an ARBOMaster approved applicator.
Do you work on high-level gutters?
Single-storey work is the most straightforward. We will confirm the access for higher gutters before we book.
Do the sealants smell?
Sometimes, a little. Any smell clears as the sealant cures.
Different surfaces, different methods
uPVC fascias
Fascia board joints can open up. We seal them neatly in a suitable colour.
Gutter end caps
Stop ends hold back water at the end of a run. When their seal fails, they drip.
Why it’s worth doing now in Burnham
A dripping stop end can soak the wall right through the wet months. It’s a small job to put right compared with treating damp later. Around Burnham, water from a failed joint in an older home can soak into timber and plaster, and that is a much bigger job than renewing the sealant.
We do not show prices on the website, because each job is priced on what it involves. For a quick quote, please phone 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and we will talk you through it.

How to look after the new joints
To keep the joints looking good and working properly:
- Look at the gutters while it’s raining
- Look along the fascias for open joints
- Do not lean ladders against the gutter itself
- Clean out the gutters once or twice a year
Keep the gutters clear of leaves and moss, so water drains away past the joints. Standing water strains every seal.
Once roofline sealant splits, water can get behind it. Resealing early protects the boards and the wall below.

Can I do it myself?
If you do try it yourself, take your time over the preparation: take out all the old sealant, make sure the joint is clean and dry, and give it the full cure time. If it fails, we can still redo it.
Sealing over old silicone is the commonest DIY error. Silicone doesn’t stick to old silicone, so it peels away and traps moisture behind it. All the old material has to come out first.
How it works
Good joint work is mostly preparation, so that is where we spend the time. Joints are cleaned back and dried before anything new goes in. All told, the work takes an hour or two for a few joints, longer for a full run. In a smaller place like Burnham, parking is seldom the issue; lanes, gates and long drives are worth mentioning. If the job is outside, tell us about side access and how high the joints are.
- We find where the water is coming from and check the gutter is sound.
- We remove the old sealant and clean the joint.
- The joint is dried before sealing.
- We seal the joint with a sealant made for gutters.
- The gutter is checked and debris around the joints cleared.
Preparing for the visit
- Let us know about earlier repairs to the joints
- On commercial sites, let us know about site rules
- Clear the area around the work
