Gutter sealing in Bridgefoot
We work across Bridgefoot on leaking gutter joints and roofline trims. Low-level work is straightforward and if it’s higher up, let us know and we’ll confirm what access is needed. Common call-outs are for drips from gutter joints and end caps and gaps along fascia and soffit joints, across gutter joints, soffit joints and gutter end caps.
Outside joints can only be sealed when they’re dry, so work in Bridgefoot depends on the weather. Let us know about access to every wall and roofline.
You are covered for a year from the day we finish. If anything isn’t right with it, email us at info@mrmastic.co.uk.

What we can’t put right
Sealant is not the answer to every problem, and we will tell you before work begins. It won’t solve:
- Cracked, split or warped gutter sections
- Downpipes that are blocked or broken
- Gutters that have dropped or pulled away
Not sure which it is? You can email us at info@mrmastic.co.uk and we will tell you honestly.
Surfaces we seal
- Gutter end caps
- uPVC fascias
- Garage door frames
- Soffit joints
- Gutter joints
- Roofline trims
Can I do it myself?
The biggest DIY mistake is sealing over old sealant. New silicone won’t bond to old, so it peels away and traps moisture behind it. All the old material has to come out first.
Too much sealant is as bad as too little. A heavy bead looks messy and copes badly with movement, and the joint depth matters as much as the finish.
What we are called out for in Bridgefoot
Sagging sections pull joints apart. Resealing a sagging joint won’t last so the brackets need attention first.
If you can see any of these, it’s time to have the joints looked at:
- Stop ends leaking at the end of a run
- Garage door frames letting rain in
- Open joints in fascias and soffits
- Wet patches on the wall under a gutter joint
Camperdown House, about 1.8 miles south-west, is one of the historic houses in the wider area around Bridgefoot, and older homes nearby need a sealant that suits their walls.

What we do, step by step
At the end, we look at the finished work together and tell you how long to leave it. The work normally takes anything from an hour or two to a few hours, depending on the size of the job. Outside jobs in Bridgefoot need a dry day, because sealant won’t bond to a wet joint, so an outdoor job can move if the forecast changes. Indoor work goes ahead whatever the weather.
- First we agree which joints need sealing.
- We clean out each joint.
- We make sure everything is dry.
- The sealant is applied and finished.
- We check our work before we leave.
Preparing for the visit
- Keep pets and children clear of the area while we work
- Mention any parking rules near the property
- Let us know about earlier repairs to the joints

Quotes for gutter sealing in Bridgefoot
Jobs vary more than people expect. The main factors:
- Access and height
- Mould in or behind the old joints
- The old material and how stubborn it is
- The amount of work
No two jobs are quite the same, so we quote each one individually. The number of joints, how easy they are to reach and the sealant needed all make a difference.
What we need to know
To make quoting easier, let us know:
- What’s wrong with the joints now
- Any access issues, like height or stairs
- Where the job is, and your postcode
- A few pictures by email, if you can
We don’t publish a price list, as no two jobs are quite the same. Instead, your job gets its own clear quote. To get started, email us at info@mrmastic.co.uk.
Work for landlords, hotels and businesses
Water getting past a failed joint can damage the building, which is a bigger problem in a rented property. Resealing at the right time is simple maintenance.
For anyone letting property in or around Bridgefoot, several properties can be quoted together. Send us the addresses and the work at each, and pictures by email help.
Gutter sealing in Bridgefoot: local notes
Plenty of Scottish homes have harled walls, and joints where harling meets other materials need a sealant that can grip and flex. Historic houses like Camperdown House (about 1.8 miles south-west) are a reminder that the area around Bridgefoot has older buildings as well as new. Where a home is older, older brick and stone need a sealant that suits them, at the right joint depth.
Letting a property close to Dundee station? Then a dripping gutter joint or loose fascia trim is easy to miss until damp shows inside. For site and facilities teams at buildings such as Baldragon Academy, larger buildings have long runs of movement joint that eventually need resealing.

Leave it or put it right?
Leaving a leaking end cap can send water down the wall all winter. Resealing it is a quick job compared with treating damp later. Around Bridgefoot, water from a failed joint in an older stone home can soak into timber and plaster, which is a far bigger job than the sealant.
There are no prices on our website, because each job is priced on what it involves. For a quick quote, please email us at info@mrmastic.co.uk and we will talk you through it.
