About our gutter sealing in Breach
Gaps along uPVC fascias and soffits look untidy and can let in water and draughts. We seal them in a colour to suit where possible. We work on uPVC fascias, gutter joints and garage door frames, and common reasons people get in touch are internal damp traced to a gutter joint and drips from gutter joints and end caps.
In a village or hamlet like Breach, older cottages and farm buildings often stand in the open, where walls and rooflines take the weather head on. Gutter joints and wall joints there need a sealant that can flex and stay put.
You get a 12-month guarantee, the same in Breach as everywhere else we work.

Gutter sealing in Breach: local notes
Breach is within about 3 miles of the coast, where wind-driven rain is a fact of life and, nearer the shore, so is salt air. That’s hard on gutter, fascia and roofline joints, especially on the side facing the sea. London and the South East are among the drier parts of the UK, but outside sealant still needs a dry, clean surface, so outdoor work is planned around the forecast.
For site and facilities teams at buildings such as Newington Church of England Primary School, its movement joints, gutters and trims need looking after like any other building’s. If you let a flat or house near Newington station, leaking gutter joints on a rental are best caught before they stain the walls.
Breach is about 3 miles east of Gillingham, in Kent. Jobs in Breach get the same care as everywhere else we work: old sealant removed completely, careful preparation and a 12-month guarantee. Our Kent coverage runs to 922 places, Breach among them. For nearby work, see our Chelmsford page.

What the job involves on each surface
Gutter joints
When a joint drips, the gutter is often still sound. Resealing is generally enough.
Roofline trims
We reseal trim joints with an exterior sealant suited to the material.
Common questions in Breach
Does the coastal weather in Breach affect outside sealant?
Coastal homes put outside sealant through more weather than inland ones, so the choice of sealant and the preparation matter even more. It’s worth checking the walls that face the sea first.
I let a flat near Newington station. Can you help?
Yes, we work for landlords and letting agents. You can ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email with the address and a few details, and we will give you a fixed price before any work starts.
Is it possible to stop a gutter joint dripping with sealant?
Usually, if the gutter is sound. We clean and dry the joint before sealing so the seal holds.
Are you ARBOMaster approved?
Yes. Mr Mastic is an ARBOMaster approved applicator, and we’re fully insured.
Can I do it myself?
It depends on the job. High-level, external movement and fire-rated joints are professional jobs, while a short indoor joint may be within reach.
Do you replace gutters or fascias?
Replacement isn’t our trade. If a gutter is broken or sagging, we’ll tell you.
Are you fully insured?
Yes. We’re fully insured for every job we do.
Do you work in Breach?
Yes. We work in Breach and the rest of Kent. For a quote, phone 0345 464 0079 or send us an email.
Should I try it myself first?
The biggest DIY mistake is sealing over old sealant. New silicone will not bond to old, so it lifts and traps water and mould underneath. Everything old must be removed first.
Some sealant jobs are within reach of a careful DIYer, such as a straightforward joint indoors. The common mistakes are sealing over old sealant, sealing a damp joint and using far too much.
When to call us in Breach
Roofline sealant ages in sun and rain. It goes hard, cracks and pulls away over time.
Any of these means the joints need attention:
- Internal damp traced to a gutter joint
- End caps that drip every time it rains
- Trim joints where the sealant has failed
- Old gutter sealant that has let go
If you live in an older home near Church of St Mary, the joints between older walls, newer extensions and the roofline need a sealant that can move.
Before you book anyone
- Who does the work, and how experienced they are
- How the joint is cleaned and prepared
- Whether they seal over old material or remove it
- What guarantee comes with the work
Looking after it afterwards
No joint lasts for ever, but care makes a real difference. Our tips:
- Clear leaves and moss from the gutters
- Get a dropping gutter looked at quickly
- Glance at the soffit joints now and then
- Watch for drips in a downpour
Clear the gutters once or twice a year so water does not sit on the joints. Standing water strains every seal.
A drip from a gutter joint won’t stop on its own. The same spot gets soaked every time it rains and that can cause damp inside.
How it works
When we arrive, we start by going over the job with you, so you know exactly what we are doing. We protect the surfaces around the joints before we start. Most jobs take a few hours, depending on the number of joints and the access. Somewhere as small as Breach, access is often the only tricky part. If the job is outside, mention outbuildings, exposed walls and how to reach them.
- We look at the gutters, fascias and trims and agree the joints to seal.
- Each joint is cleaned and any old sealant removed.
- We make sure everything is dry.
- The sealant is applied and finished.
- We check our work before we leave.
Preparing for the visit
- Tell us if parking is tricky
- On commercial sites, let us know about site rules
- Clear the area around the work
