Curdridge Glazing Silicone
Our applicators work in Curdridge on glazing silicone for conservatories, rooflights, glass panels and shower screens. Old sealant removed completely, joints prepared properly and every job guaranteed for a year.
- Shower screens leaking along the wall or tray
- Water getting into a conservatory at the joints
- Drips on the inside of a conservatory window
How we handle glazing silicone in Curdridge
Not every silicone suits glass. Our applicators use neutral-cure glazing silicone, which suits glass and most frame materials, finished with a neat, even bead. We’re often asked to deal with leaks where conservatory glass meets the frame and silicone pulling away from the glass, across glass balustrade bases, rooflights and shower screens.
In a village or hamlet like Curdridge, older cottages and farmhouses often have timber windows set in stone or brick. Not every older frame suits a modern silicone bead, so the sealant has to be chosen to suit the building.
We stand behind the work with a 12-month guarantee, so you are not left on your own once the job is done.

How it works
Before we leave, we go over the finished joints with you and tell you how long to leave it. The visit itself normally takes anything from an hour or two to most of a day, depending on the size of the job, depending on the size of the job. Somewhere as small as Curdridge, access is often the only tricky part. For outside work, also let us know about exposed walls and any outbuildings involved.
- First, we trace the leak and check it’s coming through a sealant joint.
- The old sealant is removed from the glass and frame without scratching them.
- The glass and frame are cleaned and degreased.
- New glazing silicone goes in and is tooled to a neat finish.
- We look over every joint and, where we can, test it with water.
Before we arrive
- For business premises, tell us about site rules or sign-in
- Tell us about any previous sealing or DIY attempts
- Try not to wet indoor joints just before the visit

When it is not the sealant
To be straight with you, there are a few things sealant will not fix:
- Leaks from the roof covering or flashing (a roofer’s job)
- Structural problems with a conservatory roof
- A frame that needs repairing or replacing
Not sure which it is? You can call 0345 464 0079 or email us and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.
What we seal

Why act early in Curdridge
Silicone around glazing needs the right product. A general-purpose tube may not bond well or may react with the frame so we choose a glazing silicone instead. In a small place like Curdridge, homes can be exposed to wind and rain, which finds any gap, and damp in older walls is slow to dry out.
Every job is a little different, so each one gets its own quote. The number of joints, how easy they are to reach and the sealant needed all make a difference.
Why book with us
- Quality sealants from Arbo and Everbuild
- White, clear, grey or coloured to suit, where the product allows
- We leave the area clean and tidy

Work for landlords, hotels and businesses
Hotels need rooms back in use, so we plan the work room by room. Hotel work is part of what we do, alongside homes and businesses.
We also work for businesses, from offices to washrooms and kitchens. On commercial sites, working times can be discussed when we quote.
Questions from Curdridge
I let a flat near Botley station. Can you help?
Yes, rental work is part of what we do. You can ring 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email with the address and a few details, and we’ll give you a fixed price before any work starts.
Will you come out to Curdridge?
Yes, Curdridge is covered. We work across London and the South East, and smaller places are part of that. The journey is planned ahead, so it helps to know about access.
Can you reseal a frameless shower screen?
Yes. We cut out the old silicone and reseal the glass-to-wall and glass-to-tray joints.
Are you fully insured?
Yes. We’re fully insured, and we can confirm the details when we quote.
Is it messy?
No. The area is protected while we work and cleaned up afterwards.
How long does the job take?
Typically it takes a few hours, depending on how many joints need doing. Bigger jobs take longer, and we will say how long yours will take.
How do I get a quote for glazing silicone in Curdridge?
There’s no set price, as it depends on the job: how much there is, what’s there now, how we reach it and what it needs. We agree the price before any work begins.
Can I add another job to the visit?
Of course. Doing several areas at once is generally more efficient, so mention them when you ask for a quote.
How to look after the new joints
How long the joints last depends on use and care. We suggest:
- Run a squeegee over the glass when you’re done
- Act on drips or damp patches early
- Look over the glazing joints once a year
- Use gentle products around the joints
Do not use blades or scrapers near the bead when you clean. A soft cloth or sponge is best.
Damp patches, drips and condensation along a joint are worth checking. The cause may be sealant or another part and we’ll find out which.
How the job changes by surface
Conservatory frames
The joints where the conservatory meets the house take a lot of movement. We reseal them with a sealant suited to the frame.
Shower screens
Black or peeling silicone on a screen lets water out. Cutting it out and resealing fixes it.
DIY sealant or a professional job?
Sealing over old silicone is the commonest DIY error. Silicone doesn’t stick to old silicone, so it lifts and traps water and mould underneath. Everything old must be removed first.
If you’re set on DIY, put the effort into preparation: remove every trace of old sealant, clean and dry the joint, and follow the product’s cure time. If it fails, we can still redo it.
Curdridge homes and the weather
Compared with the north and west, the South East gets less rain, but outside sealant still needs a dry, clean surface, so outdoor work is planned around the forecast.
If you look after a building such as Curdridge Primary School, larger buildings have plenty of frames, and the mastic around each one ages. If you live in an older home near Church of St Peter, the joint between an old wall and a newer frame is generally the first place rain gets in. Letting a property close to Botley station? Then a shower screen or conservatory joint that leaks is easier to reseal while the property is empty.
