What affects the quote in Wildmoor

We quote each job individually. This is what makes a difference:

  • How many areas need sealing
  • Whether the work is at height
  • Any mould that needs treating
  • The product the joint needs

Every job is a little different, so each one gets its own quote. Size, access and the product the joint needs all make a difference.

Asking for a quote

When you call or email, it’s useful to know:

  • What the problem is, such as mould, gaps, leaks or cracking
  • Pictures of the joints, sent by email
  • How many joints, rooms or windows are involved
  • If someone has resealed it before

To get a quote, call 0345 464 0079 or send us an email with the location and a short description of the problem. We will give you a clear quote before any work starts.

Commercial sealant in Wildmoor, done properly

Wet areas get anti-fungal sanitary silicone, and kitchens get a food-safe product where it’s needed. Products include Arbo and Everbuild sealants, applied by ARBOMaster approved applicators. We’re often asked to deal with joints that need doing before an inspection or audit and worktop sealant that has shrunk and stained, across student & care accommodation, office washrooms & kitchens and rental portfolios.

Somewhere as small as Wildmoor, commercial jobs tend to be pubs, holiday lets, farm buildings or halls rather than offices. Each still needs sound sealant in its washrooms and kitchens, and fire-rated joints where services pass through walls.

Each job carries a 12-month guarantee, whatever its size.

How it works

Our applicators work methodically: protect, prepare, seal, tidy. Typically it takes a few hours for a single washroom, longer for a whole building. Somewhere like Wildmoor needs a little journey planning: let us know about lanes, gates and parking. We bring what the job needs, so it can be finished in one trip where possible.

  1. Tell us the rooms, hours and site rules, and we’ll plan the programme.
  2. We go through your site’s paperwork needs, such as RAMS, before work begins.
  3. In each room, the old bead comes out and the joint is cleaned and treated.
  4. We reseal with the right product for each joint.
  5. Rooms are handed back in order, each with its cure time.

How to prepare

  • Tell us about any previous sealing or DIY attempts
  • Move anything stored near the joints
  • Let us know about stairs, lifts or work at height

Common problems we fix in Wildmoor

Wet rooms and accessible showers are designed for the whole floor to get wet, so the joints at floor level are under water often. Any split there can let water through quickly.

Most people get in touch when they notice something like this:

  • Black, stained silicone in guest bathrooms
  • Shower leaks reaching the floor below
  • Too many rooms to reseal without closing the building
  • Split sealant around staff kitchen worktops and sinks

For buildings such as Church of St. Leonard, halls and community kitchens see heavy use, and their sealant shows it.

Questions to ask before you book

  • The length of the guarantee
  • Which colour the sealant will be
  • What preparation is included
  • Which sealant they’ll use, and why

10 questions to ask before booking

How to look after the new joints

Joint life depends on how it’s used and looked after. We suggest:

  • Leave squeegees in busy showers
  • Keep a record of which rooms were resealed and when
  • Act on lifting sealant before it leaks
  • Tell cleaning staff when each room can be used

Strong chemicals and scourers wear silicone out faster. A mild cleaner and a soft cloth is enough for the joints, with stronger products kept off the bead.

Water from a failed shower seal can travel: through floors, into ceilings and across into corridors. Early resealing keeps it from getting that far.

Can I do it myself?

The difference is mostly in the preparation and the product. We take joints back to clean, dry surfaces, and the sealant is matched to the joint and its conditions, and the work is guaranteed for a year.

Too much sealant is as bad as too little. A thick, smeared bead looks untidy and does not move well, and the joint depth matters as much as the finish.

Why it’s worth doing now in Wildmoor

Refitting a washroom is a big, disruptive project. If the fittings are in good order, new sealant is often all it needs. If something else is wrong, we will say so. Where a wall is exposed, as many are in small places like Wildmoor, wind-driven rain gets into any failed joint, and damp in older walls is slow to dry out.

A failed joint rarely gets cheaper to fix by waiting, because water and mould keep working on it. If you’re unsure, phone 0345 464 0079 or email us and we’ll give you an honest view and a quote.
