How we quote for commercial sealant

We quote each job individually. This is what makes a difference:

  • Mould in or behind the old joints
  • How easy the joints are to reach
  • When we can work, for business premises
  • The amount of work

The cost reflects the work involved, not guesswork. That’s why we ask a few questions first.

Asking for a quote

The more you tell us, the more accurate the quote. When you get in contact, it helps to mention:

  • Where the property is
  • Roughly how big the job is
  • How we’d reach the joints
  • If it’s domestic, commercial or a hotel

Asking for a quote is easy: let us know the job and the location. Photos by email help us understand the job, and we will come back to you with a quote.

Commercial sealant for homes and businesses in Greenock

In a hotel, office or washroom, failed sealant is more than an eyesore. Cleaners struggle with it, water gets through it and people notice it. Our applicators renew sealant across washrooms, welfare areas, kitchens and guest bathrooms. Typical jobs include washroom sealant that looks dirty however often it’s cleaned and worktop sealant that has shrunk and stained, across retail & leisure sites, welfare facilities and student & care accommodation.

If you run a hotel, guest house or care home in Greenock, bathrooms can be resealed room by room, around guests or residents, and out-of-hours working is possible to arrange.

We guarantee the work for a year. If something is not right with it in that time, tell us and we will put it right.

When it is not the sealant

It helps to know what we cannot do:

  • Cracked trays or baths rather than failed joints
  • Faulty shower valves and leaking traps
  • Poor ventilation that keeps bringing mould back

If you are not sure, just drop us a line at info@mrmastic.co.uk and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

How the job changes by surface

Welfare facilities

Staff welfare areas are needed every shift. We can plan the work in sections so some facilities stay open.

Retail & leisure sites

Retail and leisure sites have washrooms, kitchens and changing areas with sealant to maintain. We can plan around opening hours.

The process

The work is kept neat and contained to the joints we are treating. Expect the work to take a morning for a small washroom, and a planned programme for bigger sites, and we explain the cure time before we leave. Parking around Greenock is rarely difficult, though older streets in the centre can be tight. If you are in a flat with a shared stair or a door entry system, let us know when you book.

  1. Tell us the rooms, hours and site rules, and we will plan the programme.
  2. We go through your site’s paperwork needs, such as RAMS, before work begins.
  3. In each room, the old bead comes out and the joint is cleaned and treated.
  4. Anti-fungal sanitary silicone goes into wet areas, with suitable sealant elsewhere.
  5. Each finished area is checked with you and given a cure time.

Preparing for the visit

  • Tell us about any water getting in
  • Where the joints are inside, avoid wetting them before we arrive
  • Tell us about any previous sealing or DIY attempts

What happens if it’s left?

In a building with rooms above rooms, a failed shower seal can soon show on a ceiling below. That means a second room out of use and a repair to pay for. Resealing first is the smaller job. Private landlords in a town like Greenock must keep homes wind and watertight under the Repairing Standard. Sorting failed joints early is easier than dealing with a tenant’s complaint.
