Bathroom & kitchen resealing in Wilsley Pound, Kent
Baths, showers and worktops in Wilsley Pound need attention? We cut out the old, prepare the joints and apply the right sealant.
- Water escaping at the shower enclosure
- Shrunken sealant along the back of a worktop
- Damp behind the bath or under the tray
DIY sealant or a professional job?
Overfilling a joint is a classic DIY mistake. A heavy bead looks messy and copes badly with movement, and getting the depth right matters as much as the look.
What a professional job adds is preparation and the right product. We take joints back to clean, dry surfaces, and the sealant is matched to the joint and its conditions, and the work is guaranteed for a year.
Bathroom resealing in Wilsley Pound, done properly
It is not only bathrooms. Worktop upstands, sink edges and splashback joints get wet every single day, and water that gets into the back edge of a worktop can swell the board. We reseal them with a kitchen-suitable silicone, matched to the worktop where it’s on show. We are often asked to deal with two layers of silicone, both failing and black spots spreading through the bead, on shower trays & enclosures, basins & vanity units and wet rooms.
Being in a small place like Wilsley Pound makes no difference to the job itself: it just means planning the journey and access beforehand. Once we are there, the bathroom or kitchen gets the same care as anywhere else.
Every job is covered by a one-year guarantee.

Wilsley Pound homes and their sealant
Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.
In the older streets around Church of the Holy Trinity, timber floors under older bathrooms flex, so joints need a sealant that moves with them. Rented homes near Staplehurst station change hands often, and a reseal between tenants is a quick way to make the bathroom and kitchen look cared for. Schools such as Cranbrook Church of England Primary School are buildings too, and we reseal washrooms and kitchens in schools and businesses as well as homes.
Wilsley Pound is about 11 miles south of Maidstone, in Kent. Anywhere in TN17, our applicators can take on bathroom resealing. Our area takes in 922 places across Kent, from the larger towns to small villages. Crawley is on our list too, about 32 miles from Wilsley Pound.

How we quote for bathroom resealing
Some jobs are bigger than they look, and some smaller. What affects the quote:
- Whether the work is at height
- The type of sealant required
- How many areas need sealing
- The old material and how stubborn it is
Combining jobs into one visit is normally more efficient than separate visits, so it’s worth mentioning everything you’d like done. You will get one clear quote for the whole job.
What we need to know
What to tell us when you ask for a quote:
- Whether it’s a home or a business
- Any previous sealing or DIY work
- How we’d reach the joints
- What the problem is, such as mould, gaps, leaks or cracking
If you’re in Wilsley Pound and need bathroom resealing, ring 0345 464 0079 or email us. Tell us what the problem is and where, and we’ll agree the price before any work begins.
What the job involves on each surface
Wet rooms
If a wet room leaks, the cause may be the tanking or the drain rather than the joints. We check the joints and say so if the fault looks to be elsewhere.
Kitchen worktops & upstands
Laminate worktops swell if water gets into the core. A continuous bead along the back keeps water out.
What happens if it’s left?
Fresh sealant smartens a bathroom or kitchen with very little disruption, which helps when a home is being let or put on the market. Lumpy sealant with smears on the tiles has the opposite effect. Where a wall is exposed, as many are in small places like Wilsley Pound, wind-driven rain gets into any failed joint, and damp in older walls is slow to dry out.
Every job is a little different, so we quote each one individually. The number of joints, how easy they are to reach and the sealant needed all play a part.

Common questions in Wilsley Pound
Will you come out to Wilsley Pound?
Yes. Wilsley Pound is within the area we cover, which takes in towns, villages and rural addresses. Our work covers London and the South East. Just mention lanes, gates or anything else about the route when you book.
Do you cover Wilsley Pound for bathroom resealing?
Yes. Our work covers London and the South East, and Wilsley Pound is part of that. You can ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and let us know what needs doing, and we’ll give you a clear quote.
Can you get rid of the black mould in my sealant?
Yes, we can. We strip the bead, treat the joint and lay new anti-fungal silicone.
Should I try DIY first?
Sometimes. Preparation is everything: all the old sealant out, and a clean, dry joint. We can always put it right if it fails.
Do you have insurance?
Yes. We are fully insured.
How long before the new sealant can get wet?
We give you the cure time before we leave, and it’s generally around 24 hours. Getting it wet too early can spoil the new joint.
Can tenants book the work?
Yes. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.
Do you do commercial work?
Yes. Commercial and hotel work is a large part of what we do, as well as homes. We can talk about working times when we quote.

What else we do in Wilsley Pound
How the visit works
When we arrive, we look over the joints with you first. We protect the surfaces around the joints before any work begins. Most jobs take a couple of hours for one bath or shower, or most of a day for a full bathroom and kitchen. Somewhere as small as Wilsley Pound, access is often the only tricky part. If the job is outside, mention outbuildings, exposed walls and how to reach them.
- We look at every joint first and check for movement or leaks.
- Every trace of the old bead is removed, including the thin smear on the tiles.
- The joint is cleaned, degreased and treated for mould.
- When the joint is dry, and a bath has been filled with water, the new silicone goes on.
- The bead is tooled smooth and you’re told the cure time, usually around 24 hours.
How to prepare
- Tell us about any water getting in
- On commercial sites, let us know about site rules

Keeping the joints in good condition
How long the joints last depends on use and care. We suggest:
- Move toiletries away from the joint
- Do not leave water standing on kitchen joints
- Keep scourers and sharp tools away from the bead
- Run the extractor fan during and after every shower
Keep bottles and razors off the sealant line, because they trap water against the silicone. Squeegeeing the walls and tray after use keeps water from sitting on the joint.
Watch for the early signs: a corner lifting, a gap behind the bead, a dark line under the silicone or a damp patch on the ceiling below. If you spot one, it’s time to reseal.
