Bathrooms and kitchens in Stock

Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings.

For site and facilities teams at buildings such as Stock Church of England Primary School, its toilets, changing areas and kitchens need their sealant renewed like any other building’s. For an older house near a landmark such as Church of All Saints, timber floors under older bathrooms flex, so joints need a sealant that moves with them. For landlords with property near Billericay station, fresh sealant around the bath, shower and sink between tenancies helps a property present well and keeps leaks at bay.

Stock is about 3 miles north-east of Billericay, in Essex. Homes, rented property, offices and hotels in Stock is covered for bathroom resealing, old or new, large or small. The work is guaranteed for a year. Stock is one of 644 towns and villages in Essex where we work for bathroom resealing.

Bathroom resealing in Stock, done properly

Sealant that’s mouldy, cracked or peeling shouldn’t be left until there’s a leak. A photo of the joints helps when you ring 0345 464 0079 or email us, and we will send you a clear quote before any work starts. We work on sinks & splashbacks, wet rooms and kitchen worktops & upstands, and the jobs we see most are water escaping at the shower enclosure and lumpy, uneven sealant from a DIY attempt.

For a small place like Stock, bathroom resealing is planned like any other job: it just means planning the journey and access beforehand. In the bathroom or kitchen, the work is the same as in any town.

All of our work is guaranteed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you are.

When it isn’t the sealant

We will not take on work that won’t last, so these are the limits:

  • Water getting in through the grout rather than the sealant
  • Movement from a bath with loose feet or no proper support
  • Cracks in the tray itself rather than the joint

Not sure which it is? You can phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and we will tell you honestly.

What affects the cost of bathroom resealing

We do not publish a price list, because no two jobs are the same. The quote depends on:

  • Whether old sealant or filler has to be cut out
  • The number and length of the joints
  • Mould in or behind the old joints
  • Access and height

No two jobs are quite the same, so each one gets its own quote. The number of joints, how easy they are to reach and the sealant needed all play a part, and we will explain the quote if you ask.

Helping us quote

When you contact us, it’s useful to know:

  • What’s wrong with the joints now
  • Photos by email, if that is easy
  • Where the property is
  • Roughly how big the job is

Every job is quoted individually, so start by telling us what you need. Just phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email with the details.

What happens if it’s left?

A clean new bead makes a room look cared for, which helps when a home is being let or put on the market. A smeared, uneven DIY bead does the opposite. Where a wall is exposed, as many are in small places like Stock, wind-driven rain gets into any failed joint, and damp in older walls is slow to dry out.

We do not show prices on the website, because each job is priced on what it involves. For a quick quote, please phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and we will talk you through it.

Why choose Mr Mastic in Stock

  • 12-month guarantee on every job
  • Rated 4.9 stars on Google
  • Sealant colour chosen to suit
  • Quality sealants from Arbo and Everbuild

Can I do it myself?

The biggest DIY mistake is sealing over old sealant. Silicone doesn’t stick to old silicone, so it peels away and traps moisture behind it. All the old material has to come out first.

A DIY attempt does not rule out a professional job. We remove it and do the joint properly.

Your questions about bathroom resealing in Stock

Do you cover Stock for bathroom resealing?

Yes. We work across London and the South East, and Stock is part of that. Just ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email with a few details of the job.

Do you cover smaller places like Stock?

Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. We work across London and the South East. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.

Can landlords and businesses book you?

Yes. As well as homeowners, we work for landlords, agents, businesses and hotels in Stock.

Are you insured?

Yes. We’re fully insured, and we can confirm the details when we quote.

Can new silicone go straight over the old?

No, never. A bead laid over old silicone soon starts to come away, because silicone doesn’t bond to silicone. Every trace of the old bead is removed first.

What do you need from me for a quote?

Tell us what needs doing and where, with pictures by email if possible. If we need more, we will ask.

Where do you work from?

We are a Crawley-based firm. We work across South East England, London and Scotland.

Are you an approved applicator?

Yes. We’re approved under the ARBOMaster scheme.

Aftercare tips

Simple care keeps the joints in good condition. We recommend:

  • Open a window or run the fan so the room dries
  • Do not leave water standing on kitchen joints
  • Let new sealant cure fully before it gets wet
  • Keep bottles off the sealant line

Give the silicone time to cure before it gets wet, following the cure time we give you. After that, a quick wipe after showering helps keep it clean.

Each shower pushes a little more water through a failed joint. Left alone, it soaks into the floor, the wall behind the tiles or the ceiling below. Resealing early stops it.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Stock

Water getting past a failed joint can damage the building, which matters even more when someone else lives there. Resealing at the right time is simple maintenance.

If you manage several properties in or around Stock, jobs at different addresses can be quoted together. Just tell us the addresses and what each one needs.

How it works

Most of a good job is in the preparation, so that’s where we spend the time. Joints are cleaned back and dried before anything new goes in. All told, the work takes a couple of hours for one bath or shower, or most of a day for a full bathroom and kitchen. For a village or hamlet like Stock, the journey is planned in advance: tell us about narrow lanes, gates, long drives and where we can park. We bring what the job needs, so it can be finished in one trip where possible.

  1. Protection goes down around the bath, shower or worktop.
  2. Old sealant is sliced away and the residue removed.
  3. We treat any mould and let the joint dry properly.
  4. Baths are filled first, then anti-fungal sanitary silicone is applied in a colour to suit.
  5. The joint is finished neatly and we explain when it can get wet.

How to prepare

  • Mention any leaks or damp you’ve noticed
  • Where the joints are inside, avoid wetting them before we arrive
  • Mention if the joints have been sealed before
