Bathroom Resealing in South Gorley
Our applicators work in South Gorley on bath, shower, basin, wet room, worktop and sink resealing. Old material cut out, joints cleaned and sealed neatly and a 12-month guarantee.
- Black spots spreading through the bead
- Water getting behind the bath panel
- Leaking joints on a shower screen
What sealant work cannot fix
We will not take on work that will not last, so these are the limits:
- A tray that rocks until it’s re-bedded
- A cracked shower tray or bath (that needs repair or replacement)
- Leaks from a shower valve, waste or pipework (a plumber’s job)
If you’re not sure, just ring 0345 464 0079 or email us and we will give you a straight answer.
What we seal

Bathroom resealing in South Gorley
Homes in South Gorley have the same weak spots as anywhere else: the long edge of the bath, the base of the shower tray, the back of the basin and the line along the worktop. Every joint is cut out, cleaned and left dry before it’s resealed. We are often asked to deal with cracked, shrunken or lifting silicone and a messy, uneven bead from a previous reseal, across baths, basins & vanity units and shower trays & enclosures.
In a village or hamlet like South Gorley, homes are often older cottages and farmhouses alongside a few newer houses. Older walls and timber floors can move a little, and cracked grout and split sealant are often the first signs.

For anyone letting property in or around South Gorley, jobs at different addresses can go on one quote. Send us the addresses and the work at each, and photos by email help.
Water getting past a failed joint can damage the building, which matters even more when someone else lives there. Resealing at the right time is simple maintenance.
What happens on the day
Before we leave, we go over the finished joints with you and explain the cure time. The visit itself normally takes a couple of hours for one bath or shower, or most of a day for a full bathroom and kitchen, depending on the amount of work. Somewhere like South Gorley needs a little journey planning: tell us about narrow lanes, gates, long drives and where we can park. We bring what the job needs, so it can be finished in one trip where possible.
- We look at every joint first and check for movement or leaks.
- The old silicone is cut out completely, along with the film it leaves on the tiles.
- The joint is cleaned, degreased and treated for mould.
- When the joint is dry, and a bath has been filled with water, the new silicone goes on.
- The bead is tooled smooth and you are told the cure time, generally around 24 hours.
How to prepare
- Tell us about any previous sealing or DIY attempts
- Plan for the work area to be out of bounds to pets and children
- On commercial sites, let us know about site rules

Questions from South Gorley
Is South Gorley in your area for bathroom resealing?
Yes, South Gorley is within the area we cover. We work across London and the South East. Just ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email with a few details of the job, and we will give you a clear quote.
What guarantee comes with bathroom resealing in South Gorley?
All our work, in South Gorley and everywhere else, comes with a 12-month guarantee. We’re fully insured, and an ARBOMaster approved applicator.
What do you put in the joint?
It depends on the joint: sanitary silicone where it gets wet, and sealants suited to movement or weather elsewhere. We use products from Arbo and Everbuild.
I’m a tenant. Can you help?
Of course. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.
How long before the new sealant can get wet?
After around 24 hours in most cases. We’ll tell you the cure time for the product we used.
Will there be a smell?
It depends on the product. Some smell for a while, some hardly at all.
Is white the only colour available?
White and clear are the most common choices, and other colours are available to suit tiles, trays and worktops. Tell us what you’d like when you get in touch.
Can new silicone go straight over the old?
No. Fresh silicone cannot stick to the old bead, so it peels away and hides mould and water. We always take the old sealant out completely.
What bathroom resealing looks like in South Gorley
Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings.
Schools such as Hyde Church of England Primary School are buildings too, and its toilets, changing areas and kitchens need their sealant renewed like any other building’s.

What else we do in South Gorley
Why deal with it now?
A quick bead over the top of the old one might look better for a while, but it cannot stick to what’s underneath. It lifts, traps water and grows mould behind it, so the next person has twice as much to remove. Where a wall is exposed, as many are in small places like South Gorley, wind-driven rain gets into any failed joint, and damp in older walls is slow to dry out.
We do not show prices on the website, because the cost depends so much on the job itself. For a quick quote, please ring 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email.

Looking after it afterwards
So the new joints stay in good condition:
- Clean with a mild bathroom cleaner and a soft cloth
- Wipe up water along the back of the worktop
- Let new sealant cure fully before it gets wet
- Open a window or run the fan so the room dries
Keep bottles and razors off the sealant line, as they hold water against it. A quick squeegee after showering helps the joint dry.
A few black dots in the silicone soon become a black line. Once it’s deep in the silicone, cleaning generally will not remove it. Catching it early keeps it a simple reseal.
How the job changes by surface
Kitchen worktops & upstands
Water behind a laminate worktop can make the edge swell. A continuous bead along the back keeps water out, as long as the worktop itself is firmly fixed.
Baths
Acrylic baths flex the most, and even steel and cast iron baths settle slightly when full. Loading the bath with water before sealing allows for it.
Common problems we fix in South Gorley
A bath shifts a little every time it’s filled and emptied. Acrylic in particular gives slightly under the weight of water and a person, and a tray that is not fully bedded can rock. Over time the joint tears or pulls away from the tile.
It’s worth asking for a quote if you see:
- Water getting behind the kitchen upstand
- Two layers of silicone, both failing
- Sealant that has split, shrunk or peeled away
- A joint torn by a bath that flexes
If you live in an older home near Church of the Holy Ascension, walls and floors in older homes can move, and sealant and grout show it first.
