FAQs for Ingrave
Do you cover smaller places like Ingrave?
Yes, Ingrave is covered. Our work covers London and the South East, and smaller places are part of that. Longer journeys are simply planned in advance.
Can you do bathroom resealing in Ingrave?
Yes. We work across London and the South East, and Ingrave is part of that. You can ring 0345 464 0079 or email us and let us know what needs doing.
My sealant has gone black. Can you sort it?
Yes. Mould inside the bead rarely cleans out for good, so we cut it out, treat the joint and reseal with anti-fungal silicone.
What does bathroom resealing cost?
It depends on the job, so we quote each one individually. To get one, call 0345 464 0079 or email us with a short description of the job.
Can you work on commercial sites?
Yes. We can plan bigger jobs in stages.
Will the old sealant be removed?
Yes, every time. New sealant will not bond properly to old, so any old material comes out before anything new goes in.
What colours of sealant can you use?
White and clear are the most common choices, and other colours are available to suit tiles, trays and worktops. Let us know your preference when you ask for a quote.
Is it OK to put new sealant on top of the old bead?
No. It’s a common reason for reseals failing. The old joint is stripped, cleaned and resealed from scratch.
Why act early in Ingrave
The difference in a professional reseal is mostly what you don’t see: cutting out every trace of the old bead, cleaning, treating mould and letting the joint dry. Skip those steps and even the best silicone fails early. Where a wall is exposed, as many are in small places like Ingrave, wind-driven rain gets into any failed joint, and older walls, once damp, take a long time to dry.
Rather than a set price list, we price the job in front of us: how many joints, what’s in them now and how we reach them. The price is agreed before we begin.

How it works
On the day, there’s very little for you to do. Point us to the joints and we’ll get on with it. The work itself takes two to three hours for a typical bath, depending on how much old sealant there is. Somewhere like Ingrave needs a little journey planning: let us know about lanes, gates and parking. Everything for the job comes with us, so a second trip is avoided where possible.
- First, each joint is checked for movement and signs of water.
- The old silicone is cut out completely, along with the film it leaves on the tiles.
- The joint is cleaned, degreased and treated for mould.
- With the joint dry, and any bath loaded with water, a single bead of anti-fungal silicone is applied.
- The bead is tooled smooth and you are told the cure time, generally around 24 hours.
How to prepare
- For business premises, tell us about site rules or sign-in
- Let us know about earlier repairs to the joints
- Let us know if you’ve seen damp or leaks

Advice
What the job involves on each surface
Sinks & splashbacks
Where a splashback meets the worktop, there’s a joint that catches every splash. It’s resealed in white, clear or a colour to suit.
Baths
A bath shifts slightly every time it’s filled, so it’s filled with water before the bead goes on. The joint is then laid with the bath at its lowest point and isn’t stretched when it’s used.
Bathroom resealing around Ingrave
Most of the South East has hard water, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.
Homes close to Church of St Nicholas include some older properties, and timber floors under older bathrooms flex, so joints need a sealant that moves with them. Managing a site like Brentwood County High School? Then washroom and kitchen sealant there needs the same care as at home, and schools and businesses are part of our work as well as homes.

Common problems we fix in Ingrave
Silicone doesn’t last for ever. Daily water, heat and cleaning products take their toll over the years, so its life depends on how the room is used, cleaned and aired.
If you can see any of these, it’s time to have the joints looked at:
- Gaps where the bath or tray has moved
- Leaks into the floor or ceiling below
- Shrunken sealant along the back of a worktop
- Lumpy, uneven sealant from a DIY attempt
Rented homes near Brentwood station change hands often, and a reseal between tenants is a quick way to make the bathroom and kitchen look cared for.
Questions to ask before booking
- Which colour the sealant will be
- How long to leave it before use
- Which sealant they’ll use, and why
- Who does the work, and how experienced they are
Can I do it myself?
Overfilling a joint is a classic DIY mistake. A thick, smeared bead looks untidy and doesn’t move well, and getting the depth right matters as much as the look.
A DIY attempt doesn’t rule out a professional job. We remove it and do the joint properly.
