Bathroom resealing for homes and businesses in Hook Park Estate
Resealing is a small job that makes a big difference. Mouldy silicone makes even a new bathroom look neglected, and a clean white or clear joint fixes it quickly. Just as important, it closes the gaps water would otherwise get through. We work on baths, shower trays & enclosures and wet rooms, and the jobs we see most are gaps where the bath or tray has moved and cracked, shrunken or lifting silicone.
Being in a small place like Hook Park Estate makes no difference to the job itself: the journey and access are simply agreed in advance. In the bathroom or kitchen, the work is the same as in any town.
There’s a 12-month guarantee on every job.

What the job involves on each surface
Shower trays & enclosures
The vertical joint where a screen profile meets the wall is a common leak point. It’s resealed along with the tray joints, sealing the side the enclosure’s instructions call for.
Basins & vanity units
A vanity top has a joint along the wall and sometimes at the sides. If water gets in, the cabinet underneath can swell, so a neat, continuous bead matters.
For landlords and businesses
In hotels, rooms out of use cost money, so we plan the work room by room around your bookings where we can. Hotel work is part of what we do, alongside homes and businesses.

Bathroom resealing around Hook Park Estate
Hook Park Estate is within about 1 mile of the coast. Near the coast, holiday lets and guest houses can see bathrooms used by one guest after another, which wears sealant and grout out faster than in a quiet home. Most of the South East has hard water, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.
Schools such as Hook-With-Warsash Church of England Academy are buildings too, and we reseal washrooms and kitchens in schools and businesses as well as homes. In the older streets around Church of St Mary, walls and floors in older homes can move, and sealant and grout show it first.

Why act early in Hook Park Estate
Mould removers can fade the surface of a stained bead, but where mould is inside the silicone it usually comes back. Cutting it out and resealing with anti-fungal silicone is the fix that lasts. Older cottages and farmhouses around Hook Park Estate can have timber floors and frames, where water from a failed joint can cause rot if it’s left.
Leaving a failed joint generally makes the job bigger, not smaller, because water and mould keep working on it. If you are unsure, call 0345 464 0079 or send us an email for an honest opinion and a quote.

Questions from Hook Park Estate
Will you come out to Hook Park Estate?
Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. Our work covers London and the South East. Just mention lanes, gates or anything else about the route when you book.
Can you help a landlord with a rental near Hamble station?
Yes, we work for landlords and agents. Just ring 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and tell us about the property, and we will give you a clear quote.
What do you need from me for a quote?
Only a few details: where it is, what you’ve noticed and how we reach it. After that, simply ring 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email.
How long before the new sealant can get wet?
We give you the cure time before we leave, and it’s usually around 24 hours. Using it sooner can damage the bead.
Where do you work from?
Our base is in Crawley, West Sussex, and we cover South East England, London and all of Scotland.
How long does it take to reseal a bath or shower?
One bath or shower is around two hours’ work, including cutting out the old sealant. A full bathroom and kitchen can take most of a day.
Is it messy?
No. We work neatly, protect the area around the joints and tidy up afterwards.
Will the old sealant be removed?
Yes, every time. New silicone does not stick to old silicone, so the joint is cleaned back first.
What we are called out for in Hook Park Estate
The wrong product fails fast. Decorators’ caulk and all-purpose sealants aren’t made for constant wetting, so they crack, discolour or grow mould quickly. A bathroom joint needs anti-fungal sanitary silicone.
Signs it’s time to call us include:
- Leaking joints on a shower screen
- Water getting behind the bath panel
- Shrunken sealant along the back of a worktop
- Two layers of silicone, both failing
Rented homes near Hamble station change hands often, and fresh sealant around the bath, shower and sink between tenancies helps a property present well and keeps leaks at bay.
What your quote should include
- The length of the guarantee
- How the colour is chosen
- Which sealant they’ll use, and why
- Is VAT in the price?

What sealant work can’t fix
To be straight with you, some problems need a different trade:
- Leaks from a shower valve, waste or pipework (a plumber’s job)
- Tiles that have come away from the wall
- A tray that rocks until it’s re-bedded
If you are not sure, just call 0345 464 0079 or email us and we will give you a straight answer before booking.
Surfaces we seal
- Baths
- Kitchen worktops & upstands
- Shower trays & enclosures
- Wet rooms
- Basins & vanity units
- Sinks & splashbacks
DIY versus a professional finish
If you’re set on DIY, put the effort into preparation: take out all the old sealant, make sure the joint is clean and dry, and give it the full cure time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still put it right.
The biggest DIY mistake is sealing over old sealant. Silicone does not stick to old silicone, so it lifts and traps water and mould underneath. All the old material has to come out first.
How it works
We keep the work tidy and contained to the joints we’re treating, so you can carry on as normal. Expect the work to take a morning or an afternoon for most single baths and showers, and we explain the cure time before we leave. In a small place like Hook Park Estate, access is generally the main thing to plan. For outside work, also let us know about exposed walls and any outbuildings involved.
- We look at every joint first and check for movement or leaks.
- The old silicone is cut out completely, along with the film it leaves on the tiles.
- Joints are degreased and any mould is treated.
- When the joint is dry, and a bath has been filled with water, the new silicone goes on.
- The bead is tooled smooth and you are told the cure time, generally around 24 hours.
Before we arrive
- Mention if the joints have been sealed before
- For indoor joints, keep the area dry beforehand if you can
- Keep pets and children clear of the area while we work
