What happens on the day

On the day, there’s very little for you to do. Show us the job and we’ll take it from there. The work itself takes two to three hours for a typical bath, depending on how much old sealant there is. For a village or hamlet like East End Green, the journey is planned in advance: tell us about narrow lanes, gates, long drives and where we can park. Everything for the job comes with us, so a second trip is avoided where possible.

  1. Protection goes down around the bath, shower or worktop.
  2. Old sealant is sliced away and the residue removed.
  3. We treat any mould and let the joint dry properly.
  4. Any bath is filled with water, then we lay a bead of anti-fungal silicone in white, clear or a matching colour.
  5. The joint is finished neatly and we explain when it can get wet.

Bathroom resealing in East End Green

A shower joint gets soaked every day. Tray edges, screen profiles and wet room joints all rely on silicone to stay watertight. They’re resealed with anti-fungal sanitary silicone, tooled smooth so water runs off instead of sitting in a ridge. We work on shower trays & enclosures, wet rooms and sinks & splashbacks, and the jobs we see most are a reseal done over the top of the old bead and cracked, shrunken or lifting silicone.

For a small place like East End Green, bathroom resealing is planned like any other job: the journey and access are simply agreed in advance. Once we’re there, the bathroom or kitchen gets the same care as anywhere else.

Each job carries a 12-month guarantee, large or small.

What bathroom resealing looks like in East End Green

Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings.

Managing a site like Hertingfordbury Cowper Primary School? Then its toilets, changing areas and kitchens need their sealant renewed like any other building’s. If you live in an older home near St John's Church, timber floors under older bathrooms flex, so joints need a sealant that moves with them. For landlords with property near Hertford North station, fresh sealant around the bath, shower and sink between tenancies helps a property present well and keeps leaks at bay.

Why act early in East End Green

A failed joint gets more costly to put right the longer it’s left. Water that gets behind a bath soaks into the floor, the panel and sometimes the ceiling below, turning a small job into a building repair. Where a wall is exposed, as many are in small places like East End Green, wind-driven rain gets into any failed joint, and older walls, once damp, take a long time to dry.

What you pay reflects the work, not a rough estimate. That’s why we ask about the job first and agree the price before starting.

How the job changes by surface

Basins & vanity units

A vanity top has a joint along the wall and sometimes at the sides. Water that gets behind can damage the unit, so the joint is sealed in one unbroken line.

Sinks & splashbacks

Splashbacks in glass, tile or acrylic meet the worktop in a long joint. It’s resealed in white, clear or a colour to suit.

When it is not the sealant

Some problems need a builder, plumber or other trade rather than us:

  • Water coming from the plumbing rather than the joint
  • Cracked or missing grout between tiles (that’s regrouting)
  • A bath or tray that moves because it isn’t properly supported

If you’re not sure, just phone 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

East End Green questions

Do you cover smaller places like East End Green?

Yes, East End Green is covered. We work across London and the South East, from towns to the smallest places. The journey is planned ahead, so it helps to know about access.

Can you do bathroom resealing in East End Green?

Yes, East End Green is within the area we cover. We work across London and the South East. You can ring 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and tell us what needs doing.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes, we do. Domestic, commercial and hotel work are all part of what we do.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

Does someone need to be in?

If the work is inside, we need someone to let us in. Once we have agreed the job, you do not need to watch us work.

When can I use the bath or shower again?

Generally after around 24 hours. We will tell you the cure time for the product we used.

Do you work for hotels and businesses?

Yes. We can plan bigger jobs in stages to suit the site.

How long will the resealing take?

One bath or shower is around two hours’ work, old sealant removal included. A full bathroom and kitchen can take most of a day.

Can I do it myself?

The biggest DIY mistake is sealing over old sealant. New silicone will not bond to old, so it lifts and traps water and mould underneath. All the old material has to come out first.

If you do try it yourself, take your time over the preparation: take out all the old sealant, make sure the joint is clean and dry, and give it the full cure time. If it fails, we can still redo it.
