Bathroom Resealing in Durford Wood
Specialist bathroom resealing for Durford Wood: the right sealant, proper preparation and a neat finish. Ask us for a quick quote.
- Water getting behind the bath panel
- A reseal done over the top of the old bead
- Gaps between the worktop and the wall
Do you need bathroom resealing in Durford Wood?
Older sealant shrinks and hardens. Along worktops it tends to pull back from the wall, opening a hairline gap that lets water and crumbs in. Hot pans and harsh cleaners do not help.
Most people get in touch after spotting one of these:
- A bead that has pulled away from the tiles
- New sealant laid over old sealant that is now lifting
- A messy, uneven bead from a previous reseal
- A joint torn by a bath that flexes
Letting a property close to Liss station? Then a reseal between tenants is a quick way to make the bathroom and kitchen look cared for.
What your quote should include
- Whether they seal over old material or remove it
- Who does the work, and how experienced they are
- The length of the guarantee
- How the surfaces are prepared before sealing
How we handle bathroom resealing in Durford Wood

We’re ARBOMaster approved and fully insured, and the work comes with a 12-month guarantee. We work on kitchen worktops & upstands, wet rooms and sinks & splashbacks, and people most often call us about water getting behind the kitchen upstand and two layers of silicone, both failing.
Around Durford Wood, it’s houses and cottages rather than flats, some with bathrooms tucked into older rooms or extensions. The work is the same as anywhere: everything old comes out before the new sealant or grout goes in.

Leave it or put it right?
You don’t need a new bathroom because the sealant looks bad. A new bead often brings the whole room back, as long as the fittings themselves are sound. If something else is wrong, we’ll tell you. Older cottages and farmhouses around Durford Wood can have timber floors and frames, and water through a failed joint can rot timber if it’s left.
What you pay reflects the work, not a rough estimate. That’s why we ask about the job first and agree the price before starting.

What the job involves on each surface
Sinks & splashbacks
The edge of an inset sink is a common place for water to get under the worktop. Where the sealant around the visible edge has failed, we renew it.
Kitchen worktops & upstands
Upstands and back edges are cut out, cleaned of grease and resealed, since cooking leaves a film that stops silicone sticking. The extra cleaning is what makes the bead last.
Can I do it myself?
Some sealant jobs are within reach of a careful DIYer, such as a straightforward joint indoors. The common mistakes are sealing over old sealant, sealing a damp joint and using far too much.
The difference is mostly in the preparation and the product. We take joints back to clean, dry surfaces, and the sealant is matched to the joint and its conditions.
Bathrooms and kitchens in Durford Wood
Most of the South East has hard water, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.
Managing a site like Liss Infant School? Then we reseal washrooms and kitchens in schools and businesses as well as homes. Homes close to Church of St Mary include some older properties, and timber floors under older bathrooms flex, so joints need a sealant that moves with them.

Keeping the joints in good condition
To keep the joints looking good and working properly:
- Do not let bottles sit on the bead
- Clean with a mild bathroom cleaner and a soft cloth
- Keep the fan on for a while after bathing
- Don’t leave water standing on kitchen joints
Wipe up standing water along the worktop joint and keep hot pans away from the silicone. The drier the joint stays, the longer it lasts.
Do not wait for a refit to deal with failed sealant. Sealant is a maintenance item, like the paint on a window frame, and renewing it as soon as it fails protects everything around it.
Your questions about bathroom resealing in Durford Wood
I let a flat near Liss station. Can you help?
Yes, we work for letting agents and landlords. You can phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email with the address and a few details, and we will give you a fixed price before we start.
Is Durford Wood within the area you cover?
Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. We work across London and the South East. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.
How long does the new silicone need before I use the shower?
Around 24 hours is typical, and we confirm the time for the product used. Using it sooner can damage the bead.
Where are you based?
Our base is in Crawley, West Sussex, and we work across South East England, London and Scotland.
Will there be a smell?
There can be a smell while the sealant cures. Opening a window helps.
Are you fully insured?
Yes. We’re fully insured.
Does someone need to be in?
We need access to the joints, so we will agree that with you when we book. Indoors, that usually means someone at home.
Which products do you use?
Quality sealants from brands including Arbo and Everbuild, picked for each joint. We explain the product when we quote.
What we cannot put right
New sealant cannot fix everything, and we’d rather say so up front. Sealant won’t put right:
- Movement from a bath with loose feet or no proper support
- Cracks in the tray itself rather than the joint
- Loose or hollow tiles, or failed tanking behind them
If you’re not sure, just phone 0345 464 0079 or email us and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.
What we seal

What we do, step by step
Every visit runs the same way: we look at the joints together, mask and protect the surrounding surfaces, carry out the job and tidy away. It generally takes half a day or less for one room, longer when the kitchen is included. Somewhere as small as Durford Wood, access is often the only tricky part. For outside work, also let us know about exposed walls and any outbuildings involved.
- We look at every joint first and check for movement or leaks.
- Every trace of the old bead is removed, including the thin smear on the tiles.
- The joint is cleaned, degreased and treated for mould.
- With the joint dry, and any bath loaded with water, a single bead of anti-fungal silicone is applied.
- We tool the bead to a neat finish and give you the cure time, usually around 24 hours.
Preparing for the visit
- For business premises, tell us about site rules or sign-in
- Keep pets and children clear of the area while we work
- Tell us about access, such as stairs, a lift or high-level joints
How to get a quote
